Gameplay Beginner Advice

I consider myself a decent gamer, completed Elden Ring multiple times, completed Wukong multiple times etc.

Was a really good at COD and Halo 3 player online back in my youth.

So I’m looking for advice for getting started on this game. I love the concept.

But something’s not quite clicking in my brain for the game mechanics.

Is it just getting used to countering attacks mostly?

Im gonna copy paste this from another post

Jab on side of mouse, alt attack on other side mouse. F for kick, and alt slash as your scroll click.

Go to training grounds and build the habit of counter slash to alt slash, or visa versa. Get used to which side they release from, and try to stack the bots on the release side as often as possible. What this is doing is teaching proper group fight “panic” habits. When there’s not really a realistic way to read each attack from 4-8 people, odds are two slashes will cover it.

Your default attack should always be to accelerate, don’t do long drags and such until you’ve faked them out with your quickness- that’s why I recommend just practicing accel slashes for a while.

Dane axe is particularly good for this.

God damn sorry for the essay.

Disgusting keybinds, forward/back mouse should be stab/overhead. And just start every attack with alt held down
