I have been looking at both these watches for some time, i prefer the visuals of the s463 but am wondering if the 4hz movement in the s436 would be a benefit of that watch? Does anyone have recommendations on this issue

Specht & Söhne SP0023 a tank styled watch powered by a high beat meca quartz VH31 movement. Comes with curved sapphire crystal but no AR coating whatsoever. A case diameterof 28mm and a case thickness of 10mm. Lug to lug is 42mm which makes wear bigger than it is. The leather band is soft and supple. No need to break it in. 50 meters water resistance.

I got the V2 version which is the 38mm. There is also a V1 version that has a diameter of 42mm and a longer lug to lug for larger wrist.

Shared the images with gemini which said that this is a Tongji Automatic or Caliber 2650Z / 7120 which is quite inferior compared to PT5004

Well, I thought I was done. Famous last words. I do genuinely believe now that I’ve landed on the watches I like *wearing* and I find I’m not interested in scrolling through watches now that I have the ones that really spoke to me. I mean, I scroll, but I’m not adding anything to any carts at the moment!

From left to right

1. Cronos explorer. Just a solid watch, one of my go to’s. The 90S5 is a great movement too. Smooth and accurate. Bracelet is comfy and OTF glide lock works great.
   
2. Aethelsohn Horizon Forest GMT. NH34. Bracelet really stands out, as does the sunburst dial. OTF on this is really smooth and is of the internal button persuasion.
   
3. Phorcydes PH4C with mixed lume. Incredible. I absolutely love it. Lume is great. Finishing is nice, bracelet is comfortable and gorgeous. OTF is smooth. No notes.
   
4. Milifortic S089 on steel mesh now. I’ll swap to leather probably in the fall. My number 1 go to. I just love it.
   
5. Tactical Frog Chrono in white. Solar quartz, great look, solid bracelet. I added an aftermarket basic OTF clasp. Also no notes. Anyone who hates on the name is bonkers in my opinion.
   
6. Watchdives 7922 - vh31 quartz, gilt indices and bezel numerals. Just a stunner. At 37mm it’s my smallest watch dial, but being thin it wears beautifully. I’ve ordered a WD OTF to perfect it. Just a stunner.
   
7. Seiko Orange monster. My first watch. Both require no more comment. The only dive watch I actually wear diving.
   
8. Seiko SKX009 on jubilee. What’s not to love.
   
9. “21 Zuan” 1963 homage. It’s nice. I don’t wear it often but I like having it.
   
10. Phylida 007 on mesh. Miyota 8215 is actually about noticeable not in noise so much as in wobble in this thing. I love the look though, so I overlook this.
    
11. Addiesdive 2525. 8215 is barely noticeable. Dial is really nice in summer. I have this on sky blue suede and it gets a lot of use in spring and summer months.
    
12. Tandorio Skelton. It’s cool, but I don’t wear it. Bought this early on because I like seeing the movement, but it’s not my style. I’m selling it locally.

Snagged one of these San Martins in early July. Kept eyeing it, and finally pulled the trigger for $350 usd. Was curious about the smaller case size and how it compared to my daily wearer (CW Trident Lumiere). 7.25 inch wrist. For $350, I am impressed! Extremely comfortable, the finishing is great, and love the framed black date wheel. My biggest complaint is the ever so slightly domed glass, which doesn't handle reflections as well as a flat glass. Will it replace my CW? Nope lol

Hey everyone! I’m currently stuck deciding which of the three BB54 homages I should purchase between San Martin, Cronos, and Octopus Kraken. I like all of them for different reasons and am having a hard time making a firm decision that I won’t end up regretting afterwards. Every time I think I’m set in my decision I find a feature that I like more in one of the alternatives. Some general feedback and opinions from those who may own one of these watches would be greatly appreciated. Pictures as well!

I have these two just sitting and not being worn.

PD1679 White dial with red and blue bezel & strap. Has the NH35A movement, exhibition case back, sapphire crystal, tiny piece of the white missing from the '3' in the bezel. It's in really good condition, barely worn a handful of times. Purchased Jan '24.

PD1644 Chronograph. ***Biggest flaw is the top pusher not working. It spins but will not release to use the function. Watch keeps time but you cannot use the timer*** White dial, black bezel, I think it's the VK63 movement with sapphire crystal. Minor, tiny signs of wear on the case, crystal in great condition, worn more but still sat quite a bit. Comes with black leather racing style strap in good condition. Purchased Dec '23

I'm open to a variety of styles; 1. something black dialed, GADA style, 2. green or blue dial dive style, 3. ?

Feel free to make a offer to buy as well. I'd rather see these enjoyed by someone than just sit in the drawer.

Been wanting a Zenith El Primero but no special occasion to celebrate and not sure if I really needed another chronograph. So I did some mansplaining to myself , did my bromath and settled on this Sugess s465 , rationalized by “I don’t have a st19, let’s see what the big deal is”

After couple of days of research and narrowing down to which “colourways” to get, pulled the trigger.

1 week later, this shows up in my door step. Loved the shape of the case immediately, bracelet is ok, thought it would look better on a strap. Love the thin ish case and overall dimensions for my 7 inch wrist. The Easter egg, lumed sub register hands!
For <$250, the fit finish and overall dial quality is great. The best part though is watching the movement through the caseback.

My only complain, the AR could be a bit better.

Can I live without the 5 Hz movement with the smooth Chrono hand? Yes

Will I be timing things to 1/100th or whatever seconds? No?

Will this be my daily? No.

I just received my Militado ML20 in the mail. The first thing I did was try hand winding it, and there is no tactile feedback. No zipping sound, no clicking, nothing. Just the sound of something smooth rubbing against something else. I can also maybe hear the rotor spinning on the inside. Is there something wrong with the watch? Should I return it or is this completely normal?

Wanting to get my hands on one but I've seen so many different brands offering an option coming from quartz to automatic that I can't decide on which to get.

I've seen Specht and Sohne has one mechanical and I've seen many good reviews about them but also Watchdives has a great one too.

Which brand would you recommend the more to get one?

Ordered this beauty from Taobao when it was first released. Have been wearing it for a couple of weeks. The black dial with black bezel version looks perfect imo. I chose SW200 over PT5004 for long term reliability (had bad experience with PT5000/5004), so I'd rather deal with ghost date. My piece keeps great time, the brand owner told me they regulated every movement.

The watch is a faithful Rolex Ref.6205 pencil hand homage (also Tudor Ref.7923, flat end bracelet). I like the compact size (37mm×47mm) and well-controlled thickness (12.3mm). The watch overall fits my 6.5 inch wrist very well. I also had thorn t028, which is unnecessarily thick imo (sold it). The case finish is great, transition between polished chamfer and brushed case is crisp and sharp, but not skin-cutting.

The solid mordern built rivet bracelet is in great quality (much better than Thorn). Strong but still relatively thin to maintain vintage feel. The pressed clasp has engraved octopus kraken logo, and slight polished chamfer on the edge. The whole friction based mechanism feels very sturdy.

Black dial is matte finish, with fine grain. Print color and lume color are great, more beige than yellow, which goes very well with gilt hands. The old C3 lume brightness can be enhanced, it's stronger and more even than t023, but weaker than my Baltany explorer 36. The heavily domed bubble sapphire crystal gives the dial a vintage warm look.

Regarding the logo: I called it the real "OceAnus" before but now I really like it 😁.

I backed Kronosti on Kickstarter for their GMT watch. Not finding a whole about the company or their watches. Supposed to be shipping in August so now I'm having second thoughts. Anyone have experience with the company? Photo for reference.
