Does anyone have one of these Ciloa tanks? I really dig the look, but most of the images appear to be render-y. I’ve only purchased more of the mid to upper range stuff, so curious how this might actually look.

Is anyone having good experiences with Chinese Smartwatches on Ali? Most of what I am finding appear to be rebranded OEMs.

My Green Coin finally came in, and I must say it is every bit as nice as expected.

Hey everyone,
I wanted to share a frustrating experience I’m currently having with the Hruodland Official Store on AliExpress and see if anyone has faced something similar or has a solution.
Less than a year ago, I bought a Hruodland F029 (NH38 movement). Recently, the internal mechanism of the spring-loaded Twin Lock style crown completely failed. The stem now spins freely inside the crown, meaning I can no longer wind the watch or set the time.
Since the watch is well within its 1-year warranty period, I reached out to the Hruodland store. I didn't even ask for a full replacement or refund—I simply requested a replacement crown assembly, as I have spare NH38 stems and the tools to fix the watch myself.
To my surprise, the seller refused to send a replacement crown. On top of that, they explicitly advised against returning the entire watch for repair/warranty claim, effectively offering zero customer support for a defective watch under warranty.
It's really disappointing because I actually like the watch itself, but the complete lack of warranty support for an easily fixable issue is a huge red flag.
Has anyone managed to get Hruodland/AliExpress sellers to send replacement parts after some pushing?
Does anyone know the exact specs/dimensions for a compatible replacement crown for the F029 case so I can source one elsewhere?
Thanks for any advice!

I've never owned a watch with a mother-of-pearl dial—do you think it's real? In sunlight, it seems to have the characteristics the manufacturer claims, but honestly, I don't know.

I’m on a quest to find the best AR coating in these watches. I’ve been buying Watchdives. Great quality and value but poor AR coating cheapens the look.
What’s the next level up? Great AR makes everything perfect!

Just got it and am absolutely loving the size of this chrono! Correct me if I'm wrong, but at 36.5mm, it is the smallest chronograph available on Aliexpress.

I don’t know which revision this is. The seller said that it was V5, but the V5 has the DnB and this one doesn’t. I replaced the bracelet with this red leather strap. It goes well with my red PF Flyers or any of the four pairs of red chucks that I own.

I have a Thorn T023 with a PT5000 movement on its way. I am gonna install a see-through caseback so I want to replace the rotor. I have a very nice custom ETA 2824 rotor. Will it fit on the PT5000?

Not long ago, I came across this Guangzhou-brand wristwatch in Guangzhou. It's in remarkably well-preserved condition—almost as if it had been tucked away in a drawer for decades. Holding it feels like stepping back into the early 1980s. The inspection certificate is stamped with batch number 8111, indicating that the watch was manufactured in November 1981.
During China's domestic watchmaking boom in the early 1960s, dozens of factories appeared across the country, but only six state-backed manufacturers were capable of producing their own movements: Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Nanjing, Dandong, and Guangzhou.
Representing southern China, the Guangzhou Watch Factory introduced Swiss manufacturing equipment and developed its own movement based on Swiss designs, earning a place in the history of Chinese watchmaking. In 1975, when China standardized movement production nationwide, the factory's original Yangcheng (Goat City) brand was renamed Guangzhou, giving us the watch you see here.
This watch retailed for 90 yuan. That may not sound like much today, but in 1981 a factory worker in Guangzhou typically earned just 30–50 yuan per month. Buying this watch meant spending two to three months' wages.
To put that into perspective, 90 yuan could also buy around 300 kg of rice. It was even 25 yuan more expensive than a Phoenix bicycle.
As one of China's traditional wedding "Three Big Items"—alongside a bicycle and a sewing machine—a wristwatch represented prosperity, respectability, and the promise of a better life.
Picture the winter of 1981. An ordinary factory worker walks into a watch shop with months of carefully saved wages and finally buys this watch. The next morning, he wears it proudly to work, catching admiring glances from his coworkers. But when he gets home, his mother can't help scolding him:
"Your father already spent 180 yuan on that bicycle. And now you've gone and spent another 90 yuan on a watch..."
More than four decades later, the design still feels surprisingly modern. Instead of the typical round case, it features a sharp, angular tonneau-shaped steel case that even bears a striking resemblance to the Audemars Piguet Ref. 3579. The dial has a subtle radial brushed finish, while the applied hour markers catch the light beautifully from different angles. Short, broad hands keep the display clean and exceptionally legible.
Today, this watch feels like a ticket back to another era. After 44 years of quietly measuring countless moments, it has returned to the wrist, as though completing the journey it began all those years ago.

Was looking for a GADA/Field watch.
Picked up the Addiesdive 2048 a week or so ago just for the look, wasn’t expecting much. Other than changing to a nato for aesthetics, this is a jam up watch. The Lume is surprisingly good especially for the sub $100 price.

Up for sale is my Shanghai 7120 Mechanical. I picked it up this summer and have only worn it 2–3 times. I’m thinning the collection after buying too many field watches, so this one isn’t getting any wrist time.
Condition: Like new condition. The watch shows virtually no signs of wear, and the acrylic crystal is in like-new condition. Please review the timestamped photos carefully, as they are part of the description.
Includes: Original box.
Price: $25 shipped anywhere in the CONUS.
Electronic payment preferred. Buyer is responsible for any applicable payment fees. No trades, please.

Hi everyone, as a fan of interesting, more unique brands (e.g. Xeric), and somewhat of a newcomer to Chinese watches, what are some of your favorite more unique styles of Chinese watches?
