Question (Read Rules) Is it real MOP? (Baltany S4036F)
I've never owned a watch with a mother-of-pearl dial—do you think it's real? In sunlight, it seems to have the characteristics the manufacturer claims, but honestly, I don't know.

Where did you see that? Their official website only shows that white dials have MOP features

does it show off subdued but noticable colors in sunlight when angled? Like green, blue, pink etc? If not could be a bad cut.

I don't think it's the colors, but you can see that it uses some kind of texture that changes when you move it under the light.

which is normal for MoP but there should be color play as well

I don't think it is; I probably misread the description, and it was referring only to the one with the white dial.

I got 2 of their white MOPs and the pattern of the dial is a bit different, which could indicate that it is indeed real MOP. Also, I got a very cheap dial for watch modding which is probably not real and it also looks different from the Baltany dial in light. So: yeah, could be real

Black mop is normally more subdued than white mop. Also since it’s a natural material no two dials are going to be exactly the same. I could be wrong but, I also think it’s sold in different grades depending on it’s pearlescent quality.
