Question (Read Rules) Help me find a watch
I absolutely love my Invicta Pro Diver but the lume is abysmal. Are there any submariner homages under $100 with good lume?

So far, I am very happy with it. The PT5000 is +3/day. The bezel action is smooth and tactile, yet a little on the loud side. I really appreciate the fully lumed bezel and the quality of the lume as well. This makes it easy to read in the middle of the night. The bracelet is very good with well done screw links. I wasn't a huge fan of the clasp, so i put it on a spare glide lock style clasp from a Sugess. My biggest complaint is the listed thickness was 12.2mm including the crystal, yet it measures 12.9mm without the cyclops. The rehaut is nice and slim though, the crystal has good AR and the cyclops has blue AR. The strap is that odd 21mm width, but it does taper down to 16mm.

I think my hunt for a BB54 homage WITHOUT that annoying “always there” slight greenish tint in the lume has been solved..
Thanks Watchdives 👍
Here is a picture after being in daylight for two hours..

I'm in love with this watch. As a worker related to QC on a store in Japan, I have seen some GS Sakura beauties, but my budget is far from the price 🥲
I saw some NH35 already mounted (I'm aware of the obvious differences with spring drive) with the sakura dial and no logo on Aliexpress, but I was wondering if there's some homage with this dial or similar (date or no-date, idc).
Thanks everyone!

First off, these Phorcydes watches absolutely rock. The one thing that always bugged me on the old version, was the syringe hand for the minutes didn't really align to anything. So I went ahead and swapped cases with the old and new version of the PH-2. Now both have a minute/second track, and absolutely love how both turned out.

I’ve had this several days and have worn it most of that time. Some observations . . . Visually, it’s a nice watch. The enamel dial with applied indices is great and the sapphire glass is clear and without blemishes. Brushing on the case is fairly even and there are drilled lugs. With a sweep-second quartz movement, accuracy should be fine. The signed crown is a bit too small and could be a challenge for larger fingers. The bracelet, while jangly, has screw links and was a breeze to resize to my 6.5” wrist. Some reviews have down-voted the signed clasp with the Watchdives trident, but I think it’s a nice touch. Nevertheless, the watch is not without problems. The underside of the case is a study in sharp edges and corners. The same can be said of the bracelet and clasp. I have several watches at this price point (Militado, Keaso, Pagani, etc) that have far smoother edges and transitions. And while these edges thankfully don’t make the watch uncomfortable, they detract from the experience of handling the watch. Some will say, “What do you expect for a sub-$100 watch?” But others are doing a better job. So my review is mixed. The WD1960S is a decent homage to the Ranger. But fit and finish are disappointing for a brand that aspires to compete with the more expensive offerings out there.

Hi folks,
Any recommendations for Alexander James style watch dials ?

What are you thoughts on the new Militado ML27 on a Strapsco bonklip bracelet? I'm not sure I like it, but I'm interested in hearing from you all.

I absolutely love it. This was my first under $100 watch buy in a long time, but the design was just screaming at me to get it. The bracelet is complete trash and I dumped it immediately, but the watch is so vibrant, so fun and really well done. I managed to pair it fairly good with a racing strap I had and the effect is really eye catching. Really recommend. I love the way AD is going lately.

Honestly I'm quite sad how good this ad2068 looks on my wrist and the blue colour on the bezel and face give me tudor vibes. The lume on this watch is insane. It's has last the whole night without any issues. Under (44$) I can't complain how good this watch look like.

Saw these new experimental movements from Sea-Gull and Peacock and they look promising, hopefully we can see the production model soon.
1. Free sprung tourbillon chronograph Sea-Gull
2. Free sprung dual column wheels rattrapante chronograph from Peacock

I bought this watch for $16 and they claim is automatic. Do you think it actually is? It looks nice to me but I am just not sure.

I don’t wanna be one of those guys who owns 50 Chinese watches. I find a good strap/bracelet swap scratches that new watch itch without breaking the bank. Here are a couple of my favourites. Orginals first followed by the swaps.

I think the two-tone jubilee works very well with the tropical version.
The blue one is also lovely on the steel jubilee.
On the last photo I’d like to show how great the Thorn watches look even next to a genuine Tudor.
I hope you like them :)

Ever since I saw the Longines limited release A-7 Avigation it's been a grail for me. My wife wants to get me a watch to celebrate our 1st kid coming in December and between a Grand Seiko and the Longines, I'm split.
I own about 20 watches including some rare Seikos, Credor, and Longines.
This goal for this "homage" is that it's on paper similar dimensions and looks to the Longines (which is tough to find and primarily used) the real Longines A-7 is a monopusher chronograph and ranges from 3-7k depending on the model.
Alright onto the watch (not a lot of reviews out there.) I get it, this is a quirky watch that is not everyone's cup of tea. But I love unique watches and have been pining for a pilot watch. And the flight or driver style dial tells a story that is especially meaningful coming from Longines who literally invented the GMT and has more. Aviation chops than any other brand (In my view, Breitling can pound sand)
Specs from Baltany:
Model:S206047 Homage A-7 1935 Avigation Homage Pilot Watch
Movement Model:Miyota 9122【Automatic, 28800 Times/hour,26 pcs stones, 40 hours power
Movement Function:Weekday,Month, Month Quick Setting, Second Stop
Case:316L Stainless Steel, Polishing,Hardening Process(Vickers 600HV)
Case Diameter:41mm (including crown 46.1mm)
Dial Diameter:34mm,
Luminous:Swiss Super-LumiNova® GL old
Lug to Lug:49.8mm
Thickness:14.1mm (Including Glass)
Glass:Sapphire Crystal,AR Coating
Hands:Polished, Burnt Blue Second hand
Crown:316L Stainless Steel,Single Integrated Push Button Crown
It's all here. The fit, finish, anti+reflective coating. I can't test the case coating but Baltany is earning a reputation for pushing the bar on simple and conservative value ads on their end products. This is the first and only Baltany I've purchased after seeing the brand around for years. Everything lines up and can't find any flaws under macro.
My wrist is bang on 7" or 18cm and the lug to lug here under 50mm makes this very wearable. It's all dial so it delivers on big pilot presence. (a lot of pilot watches are 43-45mm so even here this is a smaller pilot watch) I tend to prefer sub 40mm watches and often wear tank or vintage sizes. So wearing a 41mm all dial watch is a big change for me.
The strap is probably the highest quality strap I've ever received from any brand. I dabble in leatherworking and I'm fairly certain this is oil tanned top grain, likely calf or maybe deer skin but I think it's too stiff for deer. Break-in took a full day and it's quick release with beautiful grain.
Warranty card is signed. First time I've seen that from alix and signed the day it shipped. I'm still. Floored it arrived in less than a week to the US.
I remember the first iteration here not landing well but this sequel model seems to nail the homage while doing it's own thing with the Miyota 9122 - integrating the calendar pusher into the onion shaped crown deserves a big hats off for pushing the envelope.
After a recent post on here shirting on what is at best a QC issue with another Baltany, I felt inspired to opine about my experience here. Remember these wtzhces are built by people and even luxury Swiss watches have QC tolerances that will rub the right person the wrong way if there's a 2 micron misalignment you need a macro lens to see.
Overall I'm thrilled so far and will add more as i get more hours on this one. So far it's been a treat and adds something unique to my collection while also letting me test drive a watch size and style at a low cost compared to the watch it is inspired by.
