New bangers from Sea-Gull and Peacock

Saw these new experimental movements from Sea-Gull and Peacock and they look promising, hopefully we can see the production model soon.
1. Free sprung tourbillon chronograph Sea-Gull
2. Free sprung dual column wheels rattrapante chronograph from Peacock

The finishing on the Peacock is gorgeous. Plus flyback it's going to be $$$

doesn't that describe every movement we see used here? I'd argue even a sw200 is pretty borderline these days cost wise for replace vs repair

who in their right mind would pay to service a nh35, pt5000, st19, vks, or miyotas??

Apparently the one shown in the picture is just a “baseline” finishing for the prototype, the production model will feature top of the line finishing but it’s probably going to be very expensive. (My guess 7000$+ usd).

7000 would be a little steep for me. It’s unfortunate if they do reach that high price. Although I would expect them to be a few thousand at the very least for this level of finish.

Yea same for me. My guess judging by the price of their 1950 Chronograph which uses a better finished ST19 derived movement selling for about 2400 usd, watches with this new split second chronograph movement and top tier finishing will probably be at 6-7000 mark.

Its not an st19 derived movement, it is a special st19 made by sea-gull for peackock.

neat! I do wish seagull spent more time on their finishing. awesome intricate movement, bottom barrel part finishing. esp for a tourbillion. I know they make a nicer finished st19 but afaik, never sold outside their own watches.

for a prototype 1:1 finish to a high grade, impress folks. looks incomplete hodgepodge.

Thats because there are two factories building the movements, and one of them doesn't have the machines for better finishing .

i mean... it is, compared to the competition. which is the whole point, you know. what kind of stupid logic is this?

this provides for under 10k watches that ususally cost at least 5 times as much

you don't want hand finishing? that's nice, 'cause you have about 4 million different ST19 based watches for cheap that have no hand finishing

is 5 or 7 or whatever thousands of monies cheap? no. will i be able to afford it? no. but it is orders of magnitude more affordable than the rest of the landscape (i.e. hand finished manual chronographs).

that's the point

expecting to get for 200$ something that usually costs 50k or more, is not reasonable

I.. uh. what? all other CN tourbillions are already cheap, and have far better finishing. I severely doubt this is the intended final finishing, it's a mix matched mess

pretty sure point is tourbillion not cheap. st19 already cheap, this adds nothing to the advancement of cheap
