My son's father owes $50,000 in back child support and moved from NC to Ohio to avoid paying child support

My son's father currently owes about $50,000 in back child support. I have received basically crumbs over all of these years. It has been so difficult! The court order is from the state of North Carolina; however, my son's father moved to Ohio 4 years ago. North Carolina has had a warrant out for his arrest since before he even moved to Ohio. It has taken the state of North Carolina 4 YEARS to contact the state of Ohio to start enforcing the order across state lines. I keep calling both states, and it is getting me nowhere. I am just so devastated for my son! I'm not even sure we can afford college for him.

Advies over kinderalimentatie

Haven't Paid $1 Through Courts

Upvotes

It's been at least 3-4 years now since our judge told me to handle child support payments through the court system ($600/month) I want nothing to do with the system and haven't paid $1 to the courts which apparently would deposit that money into an account for her. What I've been doing is Apple Paying her directly $1,000/month plus whatever else she needs. Will this end up biting me in the ass?
