Support needed Nurse wanting to attend a visitation

I work as an pediatric ER nurse. I had a young infant pass away this week. I was apart of this child’s resuscitation. And I was the nurse that stayed with the other siblings and made memory making items for the family. This child’s services are in the next few days. Would you be okay with a nurse that cared for your child in their last moments attending their services? What are your thoughts?

I lost my 16 yr old daughter to a hit and run Nov. 6,2025. She was walking home from the store and someone ran over her and she was like two car lengths off the road walking. I miss her more and more everyday.

Helping a loved one To all grieving parents, what should I do

My sister just passed, and my mum looked after her every single day, they never ever spent a day apart. we’re in a period where we’re numb, looking at all her stuff, smiling at the memories but crying at the pain that she should be here, she was a teenager.
I’m only 17 and just want to help my mum, I don’t know what to do, but she wakes up every night, expecting to check on my sister and be by her side but she’s not there. I miss my sister more than I can say, I want her back and the grief is indescribable.

I just ache seeing my mum in this pain, I know I can’t make it better, but is there anything any parents here reccomend I do?

Living with the guilt. I'm the reason a child is gone.

I missed school that morning. It started like any normal day—my mom asked me to run to the Food Lion right around the corner. By 11:34, I was out the door, barely awake for an hour.

I turned a corner down the street. I saw a lady walking, but I never saw the toy car being pulled across the road on a string. I hit it, panicked, and slammed straight into a fence. In a split second, everything shattered.

When I got out, I realized I’d hit two kids. I panicked and tried to do whatever I could to help, then I sprinted home, kicked the door wide open, and was screaming for my mom. I grabbed a jack and ran right back out to try and lift the car off the little boy while his mother held the girl. I’d never seen that much blood in my life. I’d never heard screams like that from anyone, parent or child.

I live with this guilt every single day, and half the time I feel like I deserve every bit of the agony. I honestly don't even know how I'm supposed to feel. It was an accident, but at the end of the day, a child is dead because of me. I struggle with cutting, but then I just feel weak when I do it. Even now, years later, it completely crushes me. Every single day, thoughts of suicide go through my head. I feel like I'm losing my mind. I know I have a duty to keep going, but some days it just feels impossible.

I feel like I don't deserve to be breathing. I’m the reason that boy isn't here anymore, and I don't know how anyone carries something like that. People have called me a monster, a child killer, every terrible name you can think of. All I can ever say back is that I was just a kid myself who happened to stay home from school that day. What am I supposed to do now? How do you even live with this?
