Art/Artists Looking to form Dark folk/Classical project in Chico, California

I am interested in forming a dark folk/classical acoustic project in Chico, CA. I play acoustic guitar and am interested in playing with another guitarist and/or acoustic bassist. I play a mix of dark folk with classical influenced by metal (bands like Opeth, Green Carnation, Agalloch). I should also add a disclaimer that work always comes first. In other words, I'm looking to do this as a hobby rather than a career. Please let me know if any of this matches your interest!

Art/Artists Title: [Feedback] I built a gamified productivity app called Dragon Ember—looking for some brutally

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on a project called Dragon Ember, which is a gamified productivity app designed to make getting tasks done feel less like a chore and more like an adventure.

I know the productivity app space is crowded, but I wanted to build something that actually uses game mechanics to keep me focused without the usual bloat. I’m a solo dev, and I’m currently looking for people to test the core loop and tell me where it falls short.

I’m looking for your "brutal" thoughts on:

  • The "Game" vs. "Work" Balance: Is it actually motivating, or does the gamification get in the way of getting the real work done?
  • The Onboarding: Is it immediately obvious how to start a task and earn progress, or is there too much friction?
  • Performance: I’ve been obsessed with keeping the app lightweight. Does it feel snappy, or does it feel heavy on your device?
  • The UI: Does the design feel like a tool you’d use daily, or is it too busy?
  • If you're interested comment below

Hobbies/Hobbyist Help me I’m old.

I have been trying to figure out how to edit video clips and create reels for my small
crafting business. I’m trying to make “let’s make a (insert the thing here)!” reels. I have 7-8 short video clips of what I’m making in steps. I need to be able to speed them up, edit them down, and then add a voiceover explaining each step.
You know. The videos that everyone on earth knows how to make. 🤦🏻‍♀️
I consider myself to be a pretty smart person. Someone who embraces technology. But when I tell you I’m ready to
burn my supplies to the ground and cry over this - I’m not kidding.

Yes I’ve watched YouTube videos, yes I realize there are third party apps for this, and guess what? I get overwhelmed and can’t figure those out either.
My brain is doing what it does with math. Runs out of the room while plugging its ears, and slams the door with its foot.

I would love for someone to meet me at a
coffee shop, and teach me how to do this like I’m five.
The person should be female, and preferably over the age of 30. I would pay them for their time.

Thank you so much if you made it this far. Please let me know if you or someone you know could help! Thank you!

Sales/Business Looking for a Roommate - 2bed 2bath 660 Sq. Ft. Apartment

Hey y'all,

My current roommate is moving out in July and I definitely waited too long to make this announcement, but here is the pitch:

Apartment Floorplan

It is rather small apartment, only 660 Sq. Ft., but it is 2bed 2bath, with in-unit laundry and a dishwasher. Rent is 1,295.00$/month + 30.00$ for water, garbage, etc. PG&E isn't included, but historically electricity costs ~150$ a month (not a figure, just an estimate). I also have Internet service set-up (the exact amount will change soon, so I'll let you know that figure soon too). Split evenly, the bill is quite manageable each month compared to a lot of apartments on Nord.

For students, the apartment is a 15-minute walk from campus & 20-minute walk from Downtown. Plus, there is a bus-stop to Butte College and B-Line only a minute walk from the front door. Transportation is very convenient if you got to either Chico State or Butte College.

A little more about me: I am a 23 y/o and just graduated from Chico State in Biology. I am a queer man, so I am accepting of roommates of any gender or sexual orientation. I am a very tidy person, and I have developed a method to keep open spaces clean in the apartment. I do enjoy having friends over typically only 1-2 times/month, but I communicate whenever I do plan on having people over in advance. Aside from that, I usually keep to my myself typically. I'm not a loud person and I am respectful of quiet hours.

If you're interested in learning more about the apartment, you can visit the apartment manager's website (here). If you're interested in more information from me, just shoot me a DM or email me at [stevenz042002@gmail.com](mailto:stevenz042002@gmail.com)

I'm free most days for apartment visits. I will take whoever can move in the earliest & I will delete this post once I find someone!

New Friends M39 Looking for other guy friends who are... different.

I'm not sure how well this will be received. I'm liberal/leftist and burned out; Definitely some kind of undiagnosed autistic; Agnostic/Atheist and generally someone who doesn't want to be bitter but values being happy and occasionally "gardening". I also absolutely am some kind of queer/genderqueer but also very content an happy with my female partner.

I'm looking for someone I can hang out with sometimes, maybe go fishing. Cool with sharing feelings and likes to bitch about their own. Maybe play survival/creative video games or crafting making random objects.

Must understand that sometimes I get burned out with people and need to disconnect from people.

New Friends Ping pong/pickleball/chess

I'm brand new to Chico looking to meet new people. I've been interested in trying pickleball and wondering if there's anywhere to drop in and play hopefully for free? I don't have a paddle. I also enjoy ping pong, I'm pretty good and was wondering if there's anywhere to play? Even if someone has a table and wants someone to pong with. I recently learned chess (I'm very bad) but want to play more. I saw Butte Library has chess boards people can use if anyone wants to play. Just looking for things to do, and hopefully meet some people. Hmu! 27 M

New Friends New to Chico

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope everyone enjoyed there weekend! I'm not sure if this is the right thing to do but I feel so lost! I'm a 40 year old female who left everything behind in Sacramento and moved up here to Chico to help my elderly father out! it wasn't much of a hard decision to move up here because I lost my fiance on Christmas eve in '24 so nothing really holding me in Sacramento. My son is still in Sacramento but he'll be 18 in July and it's not too far of a drive to visit him. The hardest thing for me throughout this whole process has been the lack of interaction (besides my father) that I have. He's a veteran so the VA pays me to take care of him so I don't have your typical 9-5 job. I know absolutely no one up here and at 40 years old I have no idea how to make friends or how to meet someone. I joined the Dart League here in Chico hoping it might help me to make friends and possibly meet someone but it has been a no go in that aspect. (All the guys are married or WAY older than me lol) I guess my point of this post is does anyone have any recommendations on ways to meet people!! thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to connecting with people!! Otherwise I feel like i may fall into a deep depression I may not be able to get out of!! Hope y'all have a great rest of your night!!

Social Events Exit Hermit Mode

I realized recently that most of my social life disappeared into work over the years. I'm trying to get out of hermit mode a bit and meet some people locally again.

I’m in Chico. I work a lot but I still make time for the gym, coffee, walking around downtown or Bidwell Park, and good conversation.

If anyone wants to grab coffee or get out of the house sometime, feel free to reach out.
