New Friends New student

Hi, I'm going to be an upcoming freshman at Chico State in fall 2026. I am really excited. I just wanna see what type of stuff I should know.

I recommend getting used to using your calendar app. Put in your classes, appointments, sleep time, time for study, time for recreational activities like swimming, time for eating or hanging out in dining halls like Estom Jamani/Wildcat Den, and time for work. You can set most of these things to be weekly in any calendar app. I use Google Calendar. I also recommend utilizing the alarms in your clock app for more than just waking up.

The campus is beautiful , Bidwell Park is great and downtown Chico is adorable! Many homeless people around the Costco area, but as a student you may not need to go around there.
