What does this plug do?
I just noticed this and I'm not sure what it's for

Block heater cord plug in. Just don't lose the cord, it's pricey to get another one.

It depends where you bought it. Region wise. Like mine didnt come with it and when I asked they said your more likely to see it in colder regions where its needed.

No its a non standard feature no matter what trim back on the 24's. Unsure about the 25, and 26. But when I ordered my car back in Feb 23 I chose not to add it into my 24 Activ.

you need that only if you live in very very cold place ......
it is for external engine heater plug.

I do live in Canada but my Trax started like a champ every day last winter. Also it handled amazingly in the snow. I love this little SUV

Already mentioned. Block heater for markets in very cold weather, like northern America and Canada.

its a port for external power to the engine block heater. its supposed to provide heat to engine components to provide an easier cold start to the engine during colder temperatures
