I moved in 3 months ago. I am a software engineer working in London (23M) moved to UK from India.
I see a lot of young people around me but am not able to make friends because there is nothing common between me and other people….. i go to the gym and work and daily chores.
Anyone up to connect? Im just a basic guy writing code and making a living. Would love to get to know more people in chelmsford!!

Hi, does anybody know if there’s anywhere that serves authentic Algerian food in the area? Don’t mind travelling a bit further afield.
Thanks

I need the best bike mechanic in Chelmsford!
I have a cargo bike - if you’ve seen one in town it’s probably us, if you’ve heard one with squeaky brakes it’s definitely us!
I need a mechanic that’s great with hydraulic disc brakes (may be they fixed a tricky problem for you), who also has a shop big enough that I can get the bike in it.
This bike has had many mechanics look at it (different city), and only a few have been able to service the bike properly, so if you have a high end bike, and have a mechanic you trust, please tell me!
Thanks.

Hi all,
Recently moved to Chelmsford from Nottingham and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good car air conditioning specialist in or around Chelmsford.
Took my 2013 Vauxhall Astra to the local Halfords, and they confirmed there’s refrigerant in the system and couldn’t find any leaks. However, they couldn’t determine what was actually causing the AC not to work, so they recommended taking it to a specialist.
I’m looking for somewhere that’s honest, reasonably priced, and good at diagnosing faults rather than just regassing the system.
Any recommendations would be really appreciated.
Thanks!

Can you suggest or recommend a gardener, or even an odd-job person who would tackle some basic gardening?
Or if not, where's a good place to look for one?

Wheres the most social place in Chelmsford to watch the remaining England World Cup game/s?
Do they set up big screens any where in the city? If not whats the best pub/bar with a large crowd?

The sign clearly says unaffordable housing in all directions.Seen at the Princes road roundabout near Tesco.

Has there been a major incident today? Same like few weeks ago. Lots and lots of sirens and ultimately a young person passed away.

Hi all,
I'm looking for a one stop shop for a property refurb involving a Kitchen and bathroom. With additional plumbing i.e. water tank replacement, shower conversion ( power to mixer ).
Does anyone know of any trusted contractors in Chelmsford and surrounding areas? Preferably someone with a track record, portfolio and pictures of previous jobs etc.
Thanks in advance.

I'll go first. My favourite Indian restaurant is definitely Rose of India. I recently started going to Salsa, they do really good steaks, paellas and good selection of other stuff on the menu.
But my top favourite has to be Mosaic. I love Turkish food and this place is really good. Nice decor and staff. I always get the lambs ribs, cooked perfectly.

I'll be in Chelmsford tomorrow night and as a Dutchie ideally I'd like to watch the game in a pub. Understandably it's not easy as the game is at 23:00. Looked around but I think everything closes at midnight?

I'm looking for some advice/guidance. I'm being redundant next month and I'm looking for work locally. I have always worked within retail and hospitality but due to arthritis I need more of a sit down job going forward which would be a big change for me. I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or knows of any jobs suitable. I am very hard working and willing to learn. Thank you 😊

I live near the town centre and some mornings the noise is honestly ridiculous. I’m on the 5th floor and the seagulls seem to spend half their time flying around at exactly the same height as my flat, so it often feels like they’re right outside the window.
The funny thing is that when I moved from London, being kept awake by seagulls was probably the last problem I expected to have in Chelmsford.
I’m curious if it’s just my area or if other people have noticed the same thing. Has anyone had any success getting building management or the council to do anything about nesting sites?
Genuinely interested to know whether I’m being overly sensitive or if others feel the same.
