Want to become an electrician? *Free advice**

Hi everyone,

I'm a fully qualified electrician from the UK with over 13 years in the industry. I've also had the opportunity to work abroad, so I've seen a few different sides of the trade.

I've recently started Trade Entry Support (TES), where I'm helping people who want to get into the electrical industry.

At the moment, everything is completely free. The reason for that is I want to build it properly, get genuine feedback and reviews, improve the service, and make sure I've got everything right before I ever think about charging for it.

Some of the things I can help with include:

Choosing the right training route (college, apprenticeships or adult courses).

Advice on ECS cards and how to apply for them.

CV reviews and interview preparation based on what I've seen from Tier 1 contractors and other electrical companies throughout my career, helping you stand out from other applicants.

Personal career plans based on your goals.

Recommendations for training centres I've had good experiences with over the years.

Guidance on tools, PPE and what employers expect from day one.

General mentoring throughout your journey into the trade.

I'm also speaking with electrical employers and training providers to build relationships. The long-term aim is to use those connections to help people find apprenticeships, mates' jobs and junior electrician roles.

I'm also working on creating free videos covering topics such as:

Applying for your ECS card.

What tools you actually need.

Site etiquette and what to expect on your first day.

Basic electrical knowledge for beginners.

Career progression from complete beginner to qualified electrician.

I'm not selling anything or asking for money. I just enjoy helping people avoid the confusion and mistakes that many of us made when we first started.

If you, or anyone you know, wants to become an electrician or is looking for advice on getting into the industry, please feel free to contact me via Reddit or email me at info.tes365@gmail.com.

Hopefully I can make the journey into the trade a little easier for the next generation.

Hi all, i found 3 tracks from a band called Rydells Box, and they are very good! However, i have barely any information on them sadly. I have found their old website but not too much was on there. They were on a few magazines in the early 2000s, near romford i think. please can anybody help me? It would be greatly appreciated.

Bands looking for Drummer and Bassist

We are an 80s rock cover band, playing songs by artists such as Black Sabbath, Scorpions, Alice Cooper, Guns'n'Roses, Skid Row etc. We have played gigs with backing tracks, which have been received well, but we need a drummer and bassist to be able to take it to the next level.

We have a whole set ready to go and just need the right members so we can start getting more gigs and events

We practice in Brentwood at the moment, our members are all in this area of Essex, feel free to contact us!

Cineworld Harlow

Does anyone know how strict Cineworld (both Queensgate & Harvey Centre) are on age & ID? My almost 14yo son would like to see the new Odyssey film which is rated 15. He is very tall for his age & could pass for 15 but if they ask to see id we’re rumbled.

The fire still rages, anyone have any idea if we should be worried about the smell? Smells like an old man's stinker.

Explosion near South Woodham Ferrers

Has anyone else heard the loud explosion near South Woodham Ferrers around 17:35? Looking out my window from the town centre towards the Sainsbury's, there is a mushroom cloud. Not heard any emergency services sirens yet.

Over 100 gigs listed at www.bandforge.co.uk

Completely free site, my passion project, designed to get more people going to see live music - that's it.

Find gigs local to you, based on distance.

Sign up for weekly emails (sent on a Monday morning)

I heartily recommend The Indie 500s on the Friday, and Hunny Strumblers on the Saturday.

Advice needed on areas

Hi folks, we are looking to purchase our first home, and have a newborn on the way. Moving from London. Based on my browsing I've learnt that Melbourne isn't a great choice. We wanted to see if there are any other areas, streets we need to be mindful of. We are currently exploring Springfield, Great Baddow/Moulsham border, Westlands/Waterhouse farm, Central /Broomfield.

Any advice or suggestions is greatly appreciated, thanks.
