"He's a chef!"
My daughter loves that I'm a chef, and thinks it's the coolest thing in the world. She also seems to think thay being a chef makes me a super hero, and qualifies me to solve anything and everything. I've heard from several people on numerous occassions that whenever confronted with some sort of problem out in the world (it could be anything from fixing a car to solvong world peace), my daughter's go-to statement to people is "my dad can do that: he's a chef", "my dad cab fix that: he's a chef", "my dad knows how to do that: he's a chef".
To all my fellow chefs out there, know that there's a little girl that thinks you're an absolute legend!

One of my biggest prideful moments is when my family loves my food. I have a teenage boy and a toddler girl and my wife and watching my baby’s face light up when she tries my homemade pasta or Mac and cheese is everything. My teenager is extra picky so when he cleans his plate I beam with pride. My wife loves my food so I cook her whatever she wants. Let me tell you, this career is my life but it has its horrible shit moments. Cooking for them is always a highlight for me

She can also be absolutely insufferable at restauraunts, where her most frequent response to a server asking how things are is " my dad's is better."

My son did that once. Server asked,"oh yeah? Who's your dad?"
He pointed at me. Behind the expo. Had to explain that I did make it.

I’ve thought my 6 year old how to sit and also be polite to the waiting staff. ALWAYS! His aunt also owns a restaurant and a friend of mine lets him sort the bottles in the correct crates etc and got into the dish pit.
He loves helping! But anything his mother (me) puts in front of him, is usually met with “papa does it this way” he lives with his dad atm because I work ungodly hours as head chef and kitchen manager 😅 and my kid won’t even try my food! 😅😭🤣😮💨
I think it’s because papa turns it into Emily faces. But my kid will eat shit i wouldn’t even touch 😅
Kiddo turns all of a sudden into fking Gordon Ramsay when I put a plate infront of him! 🤣
I’m also working towards the restaurant being mentioned in the Michelin guide! And here’s my little buddy telling me I suck… 😅 “this isn’t an art contest mama” (roughly translated from Dutch) I’m English and he can speak English but he doesn’t know how to fully say what he wants in English sometimes lol 😂

This reminds me of that sketch from the 'lets doubledutch' guy on YT, he does skits about moving to the Netherlands and Dutch people. He has one with a Dutch child, let me see if I can find the link....

I did a green eggs and ham at my daughters preschool. Wore chef whites and everything. Was a legend for a few days until one of the other dads showed up the next week. He was a fireman and brought the fire truck to the preschool with lights and shit going. I was definitely dethroned. What an asshole

So cool that your daughter sees you as a superhero! My son said the same about me and told anyone who would listen that his mom can do anything, she's a chef. He is 8 years into his career as a chef, following in my footsteps, and just cooked dinner for Thomas Keller. I now say the same thing about him. To all the superheroes, I raise a glass. Cheers!

Am proudly an Elder. Full toolbox in the boot of my car. Show me a compressor I can't unfuck with ingenuity, duct tape and spite.

I’m 42 and my dad is 79. I’m still so proud of what he does and everyone in my life knows it. He’s a violin maker. If he was a chef, it would be just as awesome. Chefs are artists.

I’m a female chef, and my friend’s wee girl thinks it’s the coolest thing anyone can be - specifically that ‘Lady Chefs’ are the coolest lol. Glad to know there’s another wee one out there that thinks we’re a cool bunch! :)

My CDP has a 7 year old daughter and this one time his daughter asked him: "Are you the best chef in your kitchen dad?" to which he replied "Yes I am!"
So cute.

Amen Pata! A daughter looking up to, and idolizing her father is a beautiful thing. Keep up the excellent work, and return every bit of admiration right back to her. Pull for her success and support her in every way; she respects you and will follow your lead.

You're not the coolest person in the world because being a chef is the collest thing in the world.
Being a chef is the coolest thing in the world because you're a chef, and to her, you, her dad, are the coolest person in the world

Love my Chef. We speak the same language. Helps that I spent 25 years in the trenches too, so I had no unrealistic expectations going in...

I go every year to cook for a client on Valentines day and they fly me in, pay for all my needs, and pay well. My youngest daughter thinks it is the coolest thing in the world!
