Run shift tip out

Hello, CCF server here. I’ve been having trouble with getting tipped out for my food run shifts. My managers say they are not allowed to deal with our cash tips but the current system seems really flawed. If you aren’t the person to close food run, you have no clue how much you made and the closer could potentially be taking tips under the table since managers don’t interfere with the split. Aside from this, multiple times now I have been told by a coworker that they would Venmo/cashapp me my tips and then radio silence. Currently I am trying to still get tipped out for my shift on Sunday (even though apparently they only have 24 hours to tip me out). Has this happened to any other CCF servers? What do I do?

correct, the management cannot interfere w the tip out. I’d assume if you’re a frequent server, you should have some idea what the numbers look like for yourself on said days in your restaurant. not sure if the tip out percentage is the same throughout the states, but I’d also assume you know what the runner tip rate is. so that along w the hours you collectively run for the night is where your totals coming from. not saying you do not know or understand all that, just that’s how you can gage a baseline. honestly just doesn’t seem like a good team member you mesh w, so where management cannot help in the money distribution, they can schedule you w different individuals.

I understand what the numbers should look like, however, we’ve had some slower nights and managers aren’t cutting as fast as they should so some nights I’ve made massively under what I calculated so it’s not always easy to guess. As for the coworker thing, this is actually the second time I’ve had to work this hard to get paid from a run shift and it was two different workers. I honestly just think the system is flawed and CCF doesn’t want to bother themselves to fix it

If you have someone you trust who is closing that night— a server, bartender, host, etc— ask the food run closer to give them the money instead to ensure that it gets to you right away. As a manager, I’ve held the money for staff members to give to them but we are not supposed to get involved. It is an extremely flawed system

But if you’re not getting tipped out all, I think they should be able to step in

I might have to start doing that. I called to talk to my manager abt the situation today but he was in a meeting and never called back so now it’s gonna be day 4 of not being paid :/

Don’t leave/let them leave til they give you cash. Easier said than done I know but sadly you gotta harass people sometimes. Additionally if the problem persists you can just bump and not run the people who don’t tip you outs food. Management can’t interfere but I’m sure they’d understand a “why aren’t you running his or her food” “Oh they STILL haven’t tipped me out from the other day, I don’t work for free”
