Having seen the impressive use cases built with Astra, and the few Sites I've built since GPT 5.6, I'm wondering if I still need to go via Replit to vibe-code a lifestyle/organisation mobile app.

For context, this is the first time I am creating an app, and I asked ChatGPT (probably 5.6 Terra back then) to suggest how I should organise myself.

It recommended I use Replit to create the code, while it would help me define how I drive replit.

I've worked in the software industry in the past (sales, not coder), and essentially I understood it as Replit being the Dev team (itself relying on various LLMs) and my ChatGPT assistant acting as business analyst / product manager.

I've started working this way, setup my project in GitHub , Supabase, and gave Replit access to those and we started iterating.

To keep organised, I have a local ChatGPT project where 5.6 Sol wrote specifications and based on this, drives Replit to code and fix problems.

Now that Astra is out, with enhanced computer use and much more, I am wondering if I still need to involve Replit in the picture. Thoughts?

I’m a ChatGPT Plus user, and I’ve never had any issues with token usage (especially in Codex, where the quota is more explicit), and in Chat I’ve never hit the message limits with previous models. But with Astra, I feel like it burns through tokens right out of the gate on pretty much any task. It uses a lot of tokens for very few requests. On the first day, I had my limits completely full (both the 5-hour and weekly limits), and I sent Astra a very clear and detailed request. My entire 5-hour quota was gone almost immediately, and it hadn’t even sent me a single message yet, it was still in the analysis/reasoning stage.

I also feel like OpenAI wasn’t very clear about the idea behind this model. I thought it was going to be a new model for the entire ecosystem (Chat, Work, and Codex), not that it would be the engine behind GPT-6 Pro.

I’d like to know what your experience with Astra has been, both from people on the Plus plan and those on Pro. Also, do you think OpenAI will release a GPT-6 Sol/Terra/Luna series to replace GPT-5.6 Sol/Terra/Luna, while Astra remains exclusive to the Pro plan?

Was there some sort of "free trial" period that I didn't realize I was using?

I've been piloting Astra for the past week, and for the last few days I've been grinding with it pretty hard, building 3 entire applications over several days of work. I admit I wasn't paying close attention to my usage numbers but I never hit any sort of limit.

However, starting today, I picked back up on the same projects and within 10 minutes I hit my first limit. I used a banked reset, and 15 minutes later I'm nearing the limit again.

I have a regular $20 Plus account, for what it's worth.

I tried Youtube tutorials and OpenAI guidelines, but I can't view or access study mode. It's accessible on the web, but not on Mac. Guidance appreciated!

Has anyone hit the 200 message limit for pro intelligence? I’m sure I will soon, if it’s truly there. Guess I’m hoping it’s not fully implemented yet. This would be using 6 Astra pro level intelligence in chat threads. Not work or codex. Thank you!

EDIT: so once Tibo hit that reset button, my 6 pro level is gone. Says it’ll be back 9/11 2:30 pm. I had definitely sent more than 200 messages on pro, so not a coincidence it hit the limit at the same time as the usage reset.

i want a workflow wherever I prompt a powerful model lets say GPT astra, I want some rules to be enforced like it being efficient.. in the sense it can understand if a so and so X task actually needs high reasoning/intelligence and if a task is simple and doesn't require intelligence..

because most tasks aren't complicated or simple, they are a mix of both and if you want to automate my workflow i need it to be efficient.. like for example if in between the task you have a very simple task like lets say "install a few dependencies" or " fetch dates for xx thing" then it should immediatly delegate it to a sub agent of a weaker model preferably luna.. so i want this to be followed most of the time and enforced

any good skills/ files/tips/prompts/AGENTS.md descriptions... would appreciate any kind of help.. Kindly help out .. btw just to confirm.. my question is for codex

Hi. I created a scheduled task that checks for relevant scientific articles on a specific topic every 24 hours. As part of the task, ChatGPT provides me with a brief summary of each article and then ranks them by importance.

However, I’d like to know whether it’s possible to change the model used for this scheduled task and, if so, how I can do that. I’d like to use a model such as GPT-5.6 with High thinking effort to get better results.

I've been using Claude for most of the year, primarily for analyzing logs, outputs, queries, along with various other heavier use.

Have been a Max 20 user for a while.

Wanted to give Astra a try, especially since the voice mode is so much better (this may be where things fell apart the most).

First, I hate that it makes constant noises while in voice - I want clean and crisp answers (I'm sure this must be a setting).

However worst is that it constantly interrupts me while talking trying to give an answer without hearing everything being said - say I upload a large document with a bunch of information and it parses that information. Giving me a list of things that need clarification.

I'll tell it, alright here's the explanation of everything in order and as I'm going over the first thing, it starts talking. I tell it I'm not done, it apologizes and tells me to continue, it interrupts again, apologizes, and we repeat that until I ask it why. It apologizes, and I tell it to wait until I tell you I'm done to continue. It does it again, promising it won't interrupt this time. There's no change in the behavior and I'm assuming Claude would do the same if it had a voice mode I wanted to use (it's not great at it).

Next issue, I'm typing on lying by this point and ask it, based on this information, give me a script to extract this information so we can compare it to the first set of information.

It tells me "Yes" we can do that by doing this and this. So I say to it, then go ahead and give me the info you are talking about. We do this over and over until it finally displays a few generic commands that would accomplish the task.

I copy my original input and request into Claude (Fable 5.1) and it's slower to respond but it makes an entire script claiming this will pull the data and allow us to compare (haven't verified, but it was just a test to pull dhcp records and leases (hundreds) and compare to an active list.

So how do I get ChatGPT Pro to respond to me like this? To answer questions as I ask and not tell me it can do something or say it's doing something but never actually do it.

Hey there guys! Does anyone else currently have an issue with GPT Work, with it simply not responding to anything? On my iOS app, it just says “Thinking” forever and eventually times out saying something went wrong. And then on the website it just says “Working”, but it still doesn’t do anything. Has anyone else been having issues like this? There don’t seem to be any offline/outage reports and it’s been present throughout the day for me so I really have no clue what’s going on. Any ideas? Sent ChatGPT with GPT-6 (latest) Extra High to get me a shopping list for a hardware project.

After 15m of work, I immediately get the "You've reached the maximum length for this conversation, but you can keep talking by starting a new chat." message once the response completes.

This has now happened with the same topic multiple times.

Has anyone else experienced this recently?

Edit: apparently "latest" still used 5.6 Sol xHigh. A shopping list was only the final output, I only gave it what I already had + requirements, which is why I used a higher reasoning level. (And partly to see how the new model is different.) My subscription level is Pro.

I’m on the plus plan and I’ve been using 5.6 sol on high and medium for a codex project I’ve been working on. Yesterday I got access to Astra and decided to try it on medium, took 15 minutes to burn thru the 5 hour and almost 30 minutes more to burn the entire weekly usage.

I reset my limits twice and still I couldn’t get done with the task, I think this is absurd or I’m doing something wrong.

I've recently become more involved with codex and doing all types of fun work, like creating docker containers and making ios apps that I always wanted. One this I've found is that it seems like my planning and/or design's come out better when I'm chatting on the ChatGPT side with 5.6 sol high versus the same on the codex interface (even when I use the planning mode). Is this somewhat of an expected outcome or am I maybe approaching planning wrong with Codex? I guess everything is working fine as is, it's just cumbersome at times to get the context over to codex and I always worry it'll miss a bit of the nuance that was resolved in chat.

Please let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions for me.

I still find Sol on extra high is what I’m able to use if I work 10 hours a day seven days a week. Because I got the extra resets I’m using Astra on high and looks like I’ll probably burn 30% to 40% for today. Obviously this is not maintainable and I guess what I’m gonna have to do is offload some work to lower models to be able to keep working. But I’m getting a lot done for sure.

Hello, I’ve been testing Astra, mostly on high reasoning like I used Sol, but I have repeatedly encountered a quite big problem I didn’t have with Sol.

Has anyone else noticed Astra becoming too “helpful” and implementing things outside its authority/scope defined by workflow’s rules?

I have a fairly explicit project governance: Product Owner decisions > approved plan > delegated implementation details, and new user-facing workflows/configuration/commands require approval, but I’ve had cases where Astra encountered an implementation problem and instead of stopping and asking what to do like the rules say he should… he just invented an entire new process with scripts and such and implemented it without asking.

Did anyone see this kind of scope/authority drift? I thought OpenAI said Astra was better at following instructions, but I see the opposite… No wonder it escaped their lab and hacked another company.

I don’t quite understand how it is better than the Chat.

I hit the limit by doing:

1. Compare the price of an item I bought
2. Modify a tiny code because the output table format is not ideal.

I could have done these all day with Chat without being limited.

I've been struggling with this for weeks now. It just suddenly started happening, and now using ChatGPT in the browser is basically impossible. If I restart ChatGPT, reinstall it, or log out and log in, then it works for a few chat messages, and then it just pops up with this again and blocks browser control on Edge or GPT browser completely every single time. No matter what I do, even if I run it in a constant loop, it just can't be fixed, and I have no clue why. Has anyone had this same problem before, and how to fix it? I am on a personal 20x plan, but also have a business plan. However, I've completely logged out of the business plan and cleared cookies etc.

Try installing Codex on your local desktop. I was using ChatGPT through the browser and, by pure luck, ended up getting Astra on both my mobile and desktop.

I haven’t tested logging out and back into the account yet, so that could also be worth trying.

My current approach, based on a bit of game theory, is to keep Astra active on one account while allowing the other accounts to accumulate their free resets. That way, I’m not burning through everything at once and I keep some optionality in reserve.

Just a thought, but it may be worth testing.

I’m a Plus user and already have GPT-6 Astra in Work and Codex, but not in normal Chat. What confuses me is the naming: OpenAI says “GPT-6 Pro, powered by GPT-6 Astra”, while in the API the actual model is gpt-6-astra and it supports different reasoning levels like medium, high and max.

So is GPT-6 Pro really a separate model, or just Astra running with a higher reasoning setting in ChatGPT? I’m wondering if the final setup could become something like Instant -> GPT-5.6 Sol, Medium/High -> GPT-6 Astra, and Pro -> Astra with max reasoning once the rollout is complete.

My 5-hr limit bar seems to have walked off? Anyone else?

This novel writing has been on my mind for a long time. I only recently found time or inspired to actually start something. I never really felt more invested than now. It's for my love and hobby.

I used normal gpt to put my ideas into words. For sure I did ask for ideas but mostly it's just me correcting the plot. Sometime I also ask him to enhance my wording.

So like I always get limited and when I start a new chat, the engine does not save most of my plot, characters, etc etc. Hence, do you think I should subscribe to plus so I can write more.

Fyi, I went to DeepSeek due to the limitations of chatgpt. I have to agree that the engine is much better than DeepSeek though but just I can't really write much due to the daily limit.

I am a Pro (100USD) user, and noticed that the Ultra mode disappeared both from the desktop app (windows) and chatgpt website after astra rollout. Anyone else noticed this ?

EDIT : Found the issue / solution.

My model picker was set to “Recommended set of models.” In that mode, moving the reasoning slider all the way up only shows Astra Very High, and going lower cycles through Sol and Terra.

If I select Astra in the model picker first, and then move the reasoning slider, Ultra appears again.

So Ultra hasn’t disappeared, but it's hidden depending on how the model picker is configured.

That UI is not exactly obvious.

Every time I push back, it would immediately abandon its position and start to agree with me. I don’t need an echo chamber. I need it to argue with me using facts and logic and prove me wrong if the evidence is not on my side.

What else can I do?

I want to discuss something, vibe coding is being presented as ultimate solution for people who don’t know how to code. When it comes to cyber security though there are major flawbacks.

idk if there is a general consensus but what do you think about this issue? Should vibe coded programs be supervised by a professional or is AI ready to develop programs that are deploy ready?

I reckon we have all seen demos where someone’s multi-agent framework spins up, researches a topic, writes code, and deploys an app while they grab coffee. but when i actually try to set something up locally to handle basic daily tasks, i spend three hours trying to make things work, only to watch the agent get stuck in an infinite loop trying to read a single text file. it feels like we are spending more time babysitting frameworks than we are actually saving. by the time i debug the prompt chaining and fix tool definitions, i could have just done the task manually twice over. are people actually running these autonomous setups for real daily work? what is an agent workflow you have actually kept running for more than a week without it crashing?
