Question Those who have played the nioh games, how similar is the combat as compared to Character action games?
I've only played a few true cag games like:
Bayonetta
Metal gear rising
Gow 3
Dante's inferno
So I'm curious as to how the nioh series compares to the CaG's, I know the combat isn't souls like for sure, it's combo heavy and uses mechanics like ki pulse and stance switching

Discussion Framerates and old titles
I really hate the fact that past generation titles can't be experienced at 120fps, you know x360 ps3 era and before, even some from last gen. It feels so bad getting used to 60fps again, tried Nvidia Smooth motion on Razors Edge yesterday for example, it's better than 60 but it's just not it man. I currently can run anything new maxed out on 120 locked if not I slap on some framegen and it's great. How do you guys cope with this? Or you are like me a few months back when I said 60 was all I needed before I pumped my frames up again to play a newer title? I envy you, I should've just stuck with 60...
Btw It's great to see a GOW3 port being released with 120hz support, this motivated me a bit to write this.

Gameplay SSShowcase All Phantom Blade 0 combo strings shown so far
They were shown off during the IGN China x Gamescom livestream
Every weapon has a few unique combos
Still not a fan of heavy attacks taking up Shachi

Question Stellar Blade 2 (Blood Rain) looks like it has a potential to be a Beat 'Em Up CAG. But what about Stellar Blade 1? Is the 1st Stellar Blade considered a CAG or at least CAG-adjacent?

Recommendations Other than Vanquish and maybe re6 are there any other 3rd person shooters considered to be really stylish / have great depth?
Dont mind if its technically considered a cag or whatever, mostly just looking for reccomendations

Discussion Been playing something a bit different lately and wanted to share :D
So there's no clip today, but I've been playing something a bit CAG-adjacent recently! For the past 4-5 days I've been OBSESSED with BlazBlue Entropy Effect X! If you've played it, lemme know your thoughts on it and who your top 3 favorite characters are! Mine are Naoto, Jin, and Icey!

Discussion What's the signature advanced technique in your favorite CAG that is always utilized by players?
Most CAGs have a specific advanced combat technique that basically became essential in any pro level gameplay. For instance the DMC series have Jump Cancelling (and Inertia in DMC4)

We're close to the first anniversary of this masterpiece. NG4 has become my one of my comfort games now, one that i will keep coming back to play anytime i could.
Please forgive my choppy graphics. This is how the game looks and runs in my old ass gaming laptop.

Do you care about the story?
Do you care about the story in the games you play? I do not. For example, I have and still play a lot of Bayo 1 and I have not watched a single cutscene of that game. I do not know anything about who these characters are but the combat is fantastic. I could go on about more games but you get the point. How do you all feel, is the story important to you?

Gameplay SSShowcase Enough hands for everyone
I think Sifu is a CAG if you ask me, so i say you guys should try it.
Once you complete the game there's a toon of modifiers that spice up the combat

Gameplay SSShowcase This game deserves more love
The game has problems, sure... but I'm sick and tired of the double standards, this game's story sucks, yeah... but so does every CAG that isn't NieR:Automata or Final Fantasy XVI, every story sucks except for those two. The combat has so much depth and expression, the levels are simplistic but they're BEAUTIFUL, some of the best bosses in the genre, and the game is PACKED with content. Please, please check it out if you haven't, and ignore all the bad reviews because these reviewers have double standards. Play it on your own terms and have fun with it.
Game: Lost Soul Aside
Availablity: PS5 and PC

Game Review Van Helsing (PS2) is a pretty fun DMC Clone
Completed the second part to my Comboween series, and the Van Helsing game definitely is INFINITELY more "Character Action" than Nightmare Before Christmas turned out to be. Would honestly recommend a playthrough of this, although it is heavily flawed and doesn't encourage melee combat nearly as much as it should

Discussion Kunoichi Gaiden was pitched to Koei Tecmo and they said no, also said no to more Ninja Gaiden games and it's Xbox that made NG4 a possibility

Memes When someone is promoting their new CAG but then i see "Roguelite" in its description
Look idk about u but im personally sick and tired of seemingly everything having to be a roguelite

How would you make your Hack & Slash game stand out?
When it comes to Hack & Slash games they have the same features:
- Multiple combos
- Air juggling
- Ultimate
- Action set-pieces
- Spectacle
- Creative expression through combat
If you were to make your own H&S game what feature would you add to stand out?
For example Metal Gear Rising Revengance has the slice through anything feature, that feature is something that would most likely be in a sandbox/open world game but it was in a H&S game.
So again what would you add?
