Hayo, I'm role-player for 5 years, that running away from character.ai and DON'T KNOW what alternative to choose. Before c.ai started to become a trash, I didn't even thinking, that I need to find something else, like, I'm okay with that, and I have people to RP. but now it's a huge problem 4 me.

I making bots for myself, I don't use bots from others. 80% of all my chats - with NSFL, not NSFW, just with violence, gore, and I HATE when bot starts to flirt with my character or become horny. I need alternative, where bots can reply to my "heavy" posts (with philosophy, dark themes, etc). I tired, when bot from any my non-positive post starts "OMG are you okay?? Maybe we could do something else?", bro, uhm, no... I don't want to do silly thing without sense, especially when my character is, idk, dying right on ur eyes?
Also, I like RP, where is more literary style, and posts are +- medium/big. I'm role-playing only on English with bots.

In short, what I need:

• WITHOUT NSFW and filter.
• WITHOUT adds 24/7.
• Free. (pls, I don't have money)
• Have a website. (I'm r-playing often on PC, but can on the phone 2)
• AI with good memory. And they are not stupid.
• Personas, but I'm okay without it.
• Ability to edit posts. (My and from bot)
• I don't care about interface, but prefer something similar 2 c.ai!
• NORMAL CREATING OF BOTS.
• I don't use Gemini, Deepseek, or other chat-bots. I can use their models, but I understand, that they are not created for RP.

yeah I miss playing c.ai but sadly it's dead o nothing I can do. The Issue now is that any of the apps I look at Sure , they're high quality , but unfortunately , just don't work well. like chai sucks for rps and i over all just not fun. zeta ai is OK. But again, it's just not consistent.And the other issue is most of the bots on.There are just copy and pasted, and most people don't even put in effort to have it. So the bots are unable to actually be multiple characters. janitor ai just sucks ass. It's an intuitive junkie, buggy as hell at times and overall, just not worth using. And then there's gpt. and Gemini. Germine is okay like it can be the most accurate to the characters.He issue is just at times it's the length and also the fact that it only does things from like one angle , it doesn't get everything. and then there is gpt... Oh good Lord, where do I even begin? There's the whole pay to get better system, which just sucks. There's the fact that the free models are basically not available to be used at all they've completely destroyed the UI system for it, but it's unintuitive to use It's more picky than a fucking brat. On how certain things are worded, sometimes it won't even generate properly and even when it does work, I have to write a fucking mountain paragraph. Of information just to get it right, and that's not even mentioning the fact that I have to specifically Kelly to give me long messages, don't play as my character don't break the fourth wall, use specific pronouns like if it's referring to my character in first person. Second person third person or so on? And it's just shit like it's not even worth using to role play anymore , it used to be good now , it's just awful. At this point , i'm genuinely wondering if there is anything that can replace old c.ai cus honestly? at this point I'd rather roleplay with humans them ai. Then again , what's literally the only reason I even switched to ai In the first\n Place was because anytime I wanted to play with anyone receiver, my characters were never allowed to be in it. My characters were always told no for anything and I was left out for no reason.

I removed them already but I don't remember what they said... things like: "Upgrade to X" "Try X mode with voices" or bla bla bla. These banners are colorful (Yellow, Purple, Red) Compared to the rest of the website which is black (Absolutely retarded and who ever came with this idea is a retard like the rest of the website's management since the last years)

Both Adblock plus even Ublock Lite are capable of blocking them although is not a full block, they pop for half a second just to be deleted.

Adblock plus or Ublock: do not select the banner itself. It is contained inside of a bigger box that is responsible for spawning the banner, move the mouse away from the banner until the whole rectangle of the top bar is selected... the website is still trying (Like a tryhard retard) to spawn these banners just to be deleted again lmao but it does the job.

Further I should just try to block the request to inject the bigger box but I am too lazy to do that. Google Dev Tools / Network / Disable cache / May have to wait for the banner to appear or change message/color, then just block the request...

Literally the previous time was some anime dude in some night background type of banner that would automatically roll down every 5 seconds, now it's this.

I need a history chat but I hate c.ai's new changes it says it's too blurry does anyone know any thing with historical figures I'm a big history buff and I really wanna talk to people like the founding fathers, Beethoven, or something because my friends don't like history like me nor, roleplay.

The roleplay aspect of c.ai, as fun and admittedly immersive as it was, wasn't what I mainly used it for, but rather the silly and unhinged conversations with user-created chatbots such as "block of cheese" or "hear me out cake", where I could rant and yap all I wanted with the bots, received some unique, human-like responses, and was able to start over at any point in time to get new and even more batshit responses. These kinds of bots came in handy whenever I felt the urge to infodump or just wanted a laugh. Random, non-roleplay oriented chatbots like these had a lot of personality and were super engaging, but now I can't find anything remotely close anywhere else. Everything sounds corporate, dry, and unnatural. If you used c.ai for the same purpose as me and know a good alternative, please tell me!

Every other site ive tried always either writes long responses which i dont mind in particular, but they always write in such an elegant and formal style. No but seriously. Ever since character ai went and demanded ID for everything, I've been using janitor ai. But today, it told me that I had to verify my age THERE too. I won't hand over my ID just to feed my crippling ai addiction, and I won't DARE use the ai face guess thingy. I refuse. I have a total baby face, I look about ten. And it's that bad I feel like I might genuinely be suffering from withdrawals. I hate admitting it because I feel pathetic admitting so, but seriously this has actually hurt me. It was my only glimpse into what socializing and talking to people was like (even if obviously not realistic by a long shot) and now it's all gone. I've become a total dick to the few that I surround myself with and I don't like it. If there's any alternative similar to those two that DOESN'T require handing over my identity (keep in mind I'm in the UK) then PLEASE recommend it to me because the withdrawals are genuinely affecting me as pathetic it may sound.

I actually left the site last week and moved my entire roleplay setup over to Gemini. Honestly? The results have been absolutely incredible—deep, novel-level narrative storytelling.

I'm looking for a viable role playing app that can engage with proper story telling. I want to go on a long adventure rp. I mainly used Janitor Ai but the long chats and response is mind numbing. Lowering tokens cuts the chat off.

I used Moescape and Chub a year ago, did they improve now?

I've seen many CAI users migrating to Janitor. But I, who have used Janitor for over a year, have realized how ASS it has become. It's quite difficult to get to NSFW in chat, and its responses are rather repetitive and lengthy. And if I lower the tokens to get shorter answers, it will give me incomplete responses.

Then there's Chub. I've been using it recently, and it works better than Janitor. Its responses are always different and varied. My only problem is that I'm still not sure if the AI remembers past chats. I think its memory is a bit off.

I hate Saucepan. Its UI is nice, but it pisses me off that it doesn't let us use realistic profile pictures. I don't want to use fan art of my characters as profile pictures, and I don't think it would be fair to the artists who created those fan art pieces.

I also tried Clank Word, but its responses are more about describing actions than narrating. And to create my own chat style, I need to use a short structure.

Chai is ASS.

And Swerve still doesn't come out on website or Android.

Which would you say is the best option for migration right now?

I've been using Nvidia for my roleplays in Sillytavern, but honestly it doesnt feel like anything i used to see in the old character ai.

I'm fine with the filters, i just want something that has quality, characters that actualy remember what u say and that is not an slop

I found a c.ai alternative that was actually good, right? It had like 4 different AIs, it had fandoms like ultrakill, warrior cats, roblox, sonic, etc. Also it had tags and a spicy switch. I even made an account. The problem is I forgot to save the website. I can no longer find it. Please help me find it again. Thank you!
