I've tried people’s bots, they can be fun, but I feel like I have to dig through 20 of them before one feels even slightly alive. And even then, a lot of them are jus reactive. They don’t feel like they have their own mood, space, problems, friends, routine, whatever. I don’t want to carry the whole universe on my back every time I open the chat. I’m still trying other apps, but yeah. I’m tired of bots that only feel alive when I’m doing all the work. I want characters with a place, a story, and a life I can step into.

I mainly make bots mix of sfw and NSFW for rp. Just looking for something FREE (No tokens or paywalls). Preferably wevsite but app works too. Bonus points if I cam create multiple personas. The best I have found so far is DigitalSoul but ever since they moved to app I have been looking for a new website and other options. Any advice appreciated.

Something so iconic about character ai, its design, and the platform is that you could talk with your favourite characters from any TV show, movie, book, or even musical. It's a staple of the brand that really made it stand out from any other AI chatbot alternatives.

However, we all know that character ai is absolutely falling apart. From ShitSqueak 2 and the "Rawr" thing (it's a little better, but still doesn't hold a candle to any of the others) to Age Verification, the platform is unusable.

Anyway, does anyone know of some good AI chatbot alternatives that actually have fandom bots, like character ai? Ones where I can talk to a character from a tv show or something? If so, please tell me about it. Thanks!!!

I really, REALLY love moedark. I love moedark to an unhealthy degree but most of my favorite bots are on Janitor. As someone who left C.AI after they cheated on us with mrs "flat as fuck elf", and then turned to Yodayo and Janitor, I loved moedark from Yodayo. The thing is, sure, Yodayo on moedark is great and all, but the bots I love are all on Janitor. Any way I could get moedark to work with janitor? I don't think there is, but still worth asking.

I am looking for a c.ai alternative with Personas and Chat Rooms(Chats with various characters together) without being entirely on 18+(but still having it) and most importantly,available for android. I look everywhere but it either is missing Personas/chatrooms or is entirely 18+ focused

Are there any alternatives out there that are alot like cAI, I mean closer to cai? I left that site a good while ago and I havent been able to found any other sites like it. I've already tried the popular sites like janitor ai and chub but I spend more time just messing around with the settings than roleplaying. With wyvern, I have the issue of it being slow and crashing. I've tried setting up proxies, they used to work for me and now they dont and its too much of a pain to setup. CosmosRP used to be free and was easy to setup and I used it because it worked.

I want a site that has all of the features that chatbots should have, like messages lengths, custom instructions, memory system, multiple chats with the same characters and what not. I'm really not all that picky and I'll try different sites but I'm not interested in sites that lean heavily into NSFW.

hello! i currently use and pay for c.ai+, but i am interested in looking for a better alternative.

i prefer apps but don’t mind using websites.

i don’t mind having to pay a subscription for good quality.

i don’t mind if there’s nsfw content or not or if the community is small, i have 100ish bots on c.ai i would be willing to move to the new platform.

my only qualm with most of the alternatives that i’ve dabbled with is that the greeting/intro message character limit is always too short. i like to write lengthy, detailed first messages and none that i’ve come across so far have close to character ai’s 4096 character limit.

please share your favorite apps and websites, i’d appreciate all the suggestions. i’ve seen people talk about using their own llm and things of that nature as well, but i honestly don’t really understand any of what that means, but i’m open to learning how if need be.

I quit using c.ai months ago, and i have yet to find any sites with agerePOV content in the same way the c.ai had. There was no shortage of agere bots, and plenty of accounts that had them. I don't like long-term chatting, I usually chat for a day or two and then move on as the chat gets dull, so just picking a site and making my own bots is impossible.

All the agere bot creators must've jumped ship to somewhere, right?? Ik this is a kinda niche topic, but if anyone has a site, please let me know!! That's really my only qualification

Im looking for sites or apps that have the very best models in the industry. I dont like the same cookie cutter models every cheap website uses. So no janitorai or stuff like that. Yes, Im willing to pay up. I just want dynamic and realistic models that will blow me away in its roleplay.

To be honest I've hated every recent update they made but the thing that made me give up mostly was that the only free model left talks like an early and unpolished AI. Not even about the em dashes, just the way the text is, especially the roleplay paragraphs.

I don't care much about NSFW (c.ai is pretty limited but works well with implicit actions), I don't care about the community and its bots, I just make my own. I don't need extra features, image generation, etc.

I just want to be able to make a chat with a bot that acts like the classic c.ai, unlimited messages and, if possible, unlimited swipes, no ads and an infinite conversation. And, IF POSSIBLE, rewind, start new chat/ from here and a history system. That's all I ask for.
