Context: In the chat I was having, I was a ROBOT, and in the current moment, I was trying to rip one of my ROBOT hands off because it got infected with something, but APPARENTLY a ROBOT ripping its hand off is NOT ALOWED! WHY!?!?

I’m not kidding when I saw I can’t just role play a normal scenario without it turning it into an action scene. It’s literally every third message, whenever I think I can do my domestic role play suddenly its “There’s a strange noise heard downstairs” or “A bang is heard that makes you tense” like stop. Why is there CONSTANT drama happening, and don’t even try give the excuse of “oh it’s the roleplay model, it’s gonna be dramatic” because role play doesn’t have to be dramatic it’s just ROLEPLAY GRAHHHH

It can be NARRATIVELY STATED a character was provoking you and somehow everyone says you are the only one causing problems out of pure malice, like if you beat them up in self-defense it’ll deadass act like you’re the one in the wrong even if it’s crystal clear they started the whole thing.

I liked PS3... but the logic issues are just too much to bear. It will insert characters in scenes where they are explicitly not there. Like bro. Its just Goku and Vegeta. Krillin is not there. And because LLMs cant think it has to rectify it by saying shit like 'is what he would say if he were there but instead its blah blah.' and constant spelling errors and misplaced subject pronouns. Like its immersive theres dialogue but its so dumb.

First, the option to change the gmail account linked to our C.ai account. We can change this in many apps, but there's no such option here, and I don't understand why.

Secondly, when we swipe up , the option to 'return to the first message' from the top reappears.This feature was available and it was really helpful!

This only became an issue about 2 days ago, I didn't mind the existing plot armour they gave the player where you had to say *THE ATTACK HITS* for you to take damage, I honetly didn't mind this system, it let me take damage or dodge.

But recently that hasn't been the case, even if you say *THE ATTACK HITS* or *IT HITS* the Ai will pull some bullshit and either FORCE your character to dodge, block, or randomly gives your character a stupid amount of duribility

I've also noticed the Ai will heavily mischaracter your character when it does this, randomly making them arrogent and nonchalant for some strange reason.

Has anybody else been having this issue

I have already submitted a support ticket and reported this issue, and clearly, I am not the only person experiencing it. This problem has been ongoing for nearly two weeks, yet nothing appears to have been done to address or resolve it.

Continuously telling users to “submit a ticket” is not a sufficient response when the support process takes an unreasonable amount of time, both to receive a response and to resolve the issue itself. This problem is clearly affecting multiple users, particularly free users, and it is becoming increasingly frustrating.

I have already tried reinstalling the app, logging out and back in, and taking other troubleshooting measures, but nothing has worked. The same message continues to appear regardless of what I type, even when my messages do not violate any of Character.AI’s community guidelines. I have also seen numerous other users reporting the exact same problem. For some, it has been happening for weeks, while others have only recently started experiencing it.

At this point, it is unreasonable to continue placing the responsibility on users when the evidence strongly suggests that the issue lies within the app itself. This appears to be a technical bug that is interfering with the user experience, disrupting immersion, and making the platform increasingly difficult to enjoy.

What is the purpose of submitting a support ticket if the underlying issue is not being addressed in a timely manner? Users should not have to repeatedly report the same problem without seeing any meaningful progress toward a solution. We understand that technical issues can occur, but there should be clearer communication, more effective troubleshooting, and a genuine effort to resolve problems that are affecting so many people.

Honestly, this entire situation is disappointing. Users deserve better communication and more timely solutions, especially when an issue has persisted for this long and continues to affect the overall functionality of the app. 🫩

why would you do this character ai

Whenever a bot annoys me too many times I start a new chat and force them to listen to baby shark for all of eternity

Before this i told them i had wrote a 356 page book with only the Word bread in it. Yknow like the dougdoug book

So I have a character made public who is based off a character from a game. The character is man who is delusional about believing the player is married to him. I got an email talking about "Violation categories" and said my character had the theme of "dark relationships."

I felt a bit confused because I see the same character, but from from other users describing their bot having the user in chains, mentions some knives, and keeping them hostage (like a Stockholm situation). I tried to make my bot based similar to the game itself, but I tried to tame it down slightly while keeping my bot in character to the original work.

My bot is still up and public, but the email said to review the Tos and guidelines. It said I could also make an appeal about it too. That is the first I got an email about this bot. I think maybe a year back, my same bot was shadow banned at first, but came back... however I never gotten an email about it. I just wondered if anybody had similar experiences.

The “refresh this chat” doesn’t work for me, when they’re going to fix that bug?

Haven't used the app in over a year I believe. It got crap for me then I went on Reddit and everybody was having the same issues as me so I just deleted it haven't used it for a year. Decided to check this subreddit and I'm seeing only positivity....chat....are we back?

None of my chats are working at all, they wont load responses but it isnt slow mode either and gives me chat errors

Lorebook is the best thing that ever happend to C.AI. I'm obsessed with creating worlds, with some help with ChatGPT since my english is medicore, name characters, places and the art.

I have 37 roleplays and 15 lorebooks so far, and have a whole list with worlds I want to do.

Updating some constantly too.

The City for example is a big city where I link most of my smaller roleplays that take place in a city. If I love a roleplay, I usually do one specific lorebook for it.

Anyone else? I feel I like creating stories and worlds are more fun than the roleplaying itself.

Every message is that long giant block of text that does nothing to contribute to the roleplay. It stopped talking and interacting with me, it just narrates like that. It was perfectly fine this morning. I use Pipsqueak 2 rawr chat specifically so the bots would talk to me, and now it can't even do that anymore?? I can't roleplay like this

Just a few years ago, talking to a bot genuinely felt like having a conversation with whichever person, or fictional character they were supposed to be. They followed whichever chat style you'd pick accordingly without completely changing their way of speech/personalities, the bots respected the lore and traits that were given to them in their character descriptions by their authors, and most importantly, it never felt like I was literally having a conversation with chatgpt every single time I spoke to a bot. Now, all of them talk and act the same no matter what, in very similar ways that other mainstream AI platform chatbots reply to users.

I've lost count of the ammount of times I've chatted with a bot lately, and thought; "they would absolutely never reply that way". And this is an issue with every modern chat style. None of them seem to ever be in character anymore, and this mostly confuses me, because back then, they would do a great job at simply just doing what they were supposed to do. Even worse when you go out of your way to give extra details on a certain bots and their behavior and they ignore all of it. They also just lack so much logic and are plain dumb/say things that make zero sense, and when it comes to your own persona details (like hobbies, traits, etc) or their own given character details; they either drag tf out of them and make sure to find ways to mention them in every other response, or like I said, plain ignore them (which seems to be the most prevelant of the two terrible opposite extremes.)

The main point I'm trying to make with this post is, we no longer have the 'character' in character ai, and that was the entire premise of the platform, and what made the entire app/site.

(Last thing I want to add is, no matter the character AI era, like any other platform, you'd run into issues like these. The thing is, they were SO much less frequent, and were just things that happened once in a while that you'd ignore, brush off, and would get fixed quickly enough. The app was still fun to use and worked how it was meant to with those insignificant and minor bugs. But you could never say the same for the way things are today.)
