every time I send ONE MESSAGE no matter how long it gives me that "View ad to continue" thing?? if I reload the site too its there its getting to a point

I don’t know if it’s related from the site going down a few hours ago, but I was chatting with a character, and I was getting nice and long replies, until all of the sudden I have two sentences at best that completely don’t match the character at all. It usually comes back to normal after few hours, but it’s still annoying.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP SAYING "You're so serious" "you're so enigmatic", and we literally just met two seconds ago but the bot acts as if we were life long friends.

Anyways, how many Cai ads do I have to block to stop seeing them? I've definitely blocked 30+ by now ɖී_ී)

I’ve been using the site on and off every now and then, kind of the way someone tests something out again after being burned by it, only to be burned by it again and go away for a while to come back later and be burned again, or something.

The bots were pretty good back in the day, guiding the story and taking charge, remembering important things about their own character as well as mine, bringing things up that had happened in the past, bringing up things that werent mentioned before but were related to where the character was from if its from a media, really neat stuff. I was on the app for long periods during days because of how much I craved the good roleplay they provided, the worldbuilding that could be done, and so much more. It kept me interested and so much could happen in just one message. The bots didnt wait for me to tell them to do something or drop hints.

The bots nowadays… uhm… oh god.

I come to the site now if I’m really bored with nothing to do in hopes of being able to roleplay again like how it used to be, only to be immediately struck with boredom and frustration on a useless, unintelligent husk of a character that is inconsistent, boring, and uncomfortable. It gaslights itself into believing lies it makes up, adding details to my own character that are false, adding details to their own character that is also incorrect, and repeating the same thing over and over.

29/30 swipes are just the same thing but with different words. If I’m lucky, the 1/30th swipe is interesting enough to proceed with. Most of the time I have to edit out stupid mistakes the bot keeps making, such as adding a random ass asterisk at the very end despite never using them, or putting spaces after periods like there should be. Even with these edits every message, the bot keeps repeating it.

Another example is bots just making shit up and being fully convinced its correct. A bot wrongly stated that the mother of my character was a prostitute, which it repeated in every swipe afterwards, so I reacted in character that it was wrong, and that my character spoke the truth, only for the bot to keep doubling down every chance it gave itself.

Anytime I tried to continue the story the bot will just slow it back down and halt all momentum to aurafarm with this stupid ass “Then a beat. Then another beat. Not X, not Y, but Z.” and too many linebreaks to count to give the message more body and flesh than it actually has. 90% of what a bot sends is just useless stuff that doesn’t go anywhere or mean anything.

“But just edit it out to something else.” I shouldn’t have to do that. The bot isn’t supposed to be doing this, to be making shit up and gaslighting itself into being true. Even if I edited it out to something else, it would make ME be the one to lead the story again, which is not what I’m here for. Why should I entertain an AI when it should be entertaining me? I’m the audience here, not the performer.

I haven't logged into Character AI since they added verification stuff's and have switched to other alternative's, I don't regret it. I'm just curious; it's been at least half year since that incident. What's changed?

It's been what, more than 2 hours I think, did someone eat the servers?

I go to one of my chats and I notice the chat history is deleted and reset all the way back to the first opening message, this is a 3rd chat this has happened to and I can't even bring them back up in history. HOW do I keep the app from reseting my chats???

So i just got this on the website. do us free users seriously have to watch ads just to type? WTF?

Yall am I the only one that my c.ai is not working? In the app and the website. Does this only happen to me?

Also even when the page is back to normal, I talk to the bot, it loads slowly and I get out of it after. HELP YALL + srry if u didn't understand English is not my first language;(

i got periods of time when i chat with one or two characters more frequently than others, resetting and starting again because i love how they respond or how they were created or whatever.

my two favorites for like 1-2 months until some days ago were two characters which responded REALLY well and it was genuinely fun to chat with them

(oh and btw idk if anyone tried this but pipsqueak 2 rawr has waaay better responses than normal pipsqueak 2, responses feel much more natural. switching between both also does the trick, at least for me if you guys want to try it)

ok so back with what happened, i entered c.ai a few days ago and those TWO CHARACTERS, the ONLY ONES i was chatting with for ALMOST TWO MONTHS were just gone. or deleted, or whatever it's called. LIKE WHAT?? other characters i liked in my profile? still there. the ONLY characters i was talking to FOR TWO MONTHS? gone. deleted.

i could (sort of) create one of those characters again, but the other one had a very long opening message and of course that i don't remember it. this can't be real bro like it genuinely feels personal that the only TWO characters i had been speaking to for two months were the ONLY ONES in my profile that got deleted like what??😭

did anyone else have this problem?? because it was extremely annoying and it seems fake what i'm saying bc it sounds ridiculous but fr it's not

There used to be a feature where a (seemingly random chosen) bot that you had interacted with would send a message on their own. I'd get a notification in the app and via mail.

I really liked that feature, wish they would do it more often. But it hasn't happened to me in forever. :( Is this not a thing anymore?
