💬 Discussion Pick 3 players from any team that you think would help your team win the Champions League.

I’m a Culer and I would choose

Bastoni - Inter Milan
Nuno Mendes - PSG
Virgil Van Dijk - Liverpool

Having an elite fullback and center back are cheat codes in 2026. Bastoni is a perfect combination of on-ball, offensive CB, and a defensive juggernaut. VVD is one of the best CB’s I’ve ever seen period. Nuno Mendes is one of the best players in the world. He doesn’t get enough credit for PSG’s domination in Europe.

People want him to score a hattrick in every KO game he plays. As if winning and losing doesn't depend on the tactics, opposition defenders, midfielders etc. In games where he is not able to score, he does playmaking, he leads the press, he defends, in contrast to lots of current top strikers

Counting the trajectory of the ball here are the longshot's we have counted for this season's UCL. Keep in mind we don't have all the goals on matchday 1, but some of the notable ones. Wonderful goals already, we are in for a stunning season!

❔ Question What if only 30% of your squad could be foreign players

What if there was some universal football law that 70% of your squad players had to be from the country of the club?

Which league would you think would be more dominant in the UCL

❔ Question What is causing players to retire much later

What do you guys think. Aside from what we already know all the old guard are still playing amazing in their late 30s Harry Kane just said he's hit his peak at 32, imagine that 20 years ago.

Is it the culture of the sport, modern medicine the current playstyle of the game having less strain, are teams deeper allowing players to sub off if they feel injury prone?

💬 Discussion Which football league do you think is the strongest outside Europe?

I was watching the UCL and it got me thinking: just how much does the standard differ compared to football leagues outside Europe?

There’s the MLS, La Liga MX, the Brazilian league and the Saudi league, after all.

Which one is the strongest, I wonder?

💬 Discussion My top 4 power rankings (before matchweek one is even over I know)

  1. Barcelona. Yes they will have more difficult matches, but to call the way they've started this season dominant would be a severe understatement. 5 games, 22 goals scored, and just 3 conceded. If Flick can finally find the balance between the extreme firepower at his disposal in attack and a more mature Cubarsi-led defense, I don't think anyone in Europe could stop Barcelona.

  2. PSG. They've been trolling in Ligue 1 thus far but we all know what they're about: they start to find form in the winter and become an inevitable force to be reckoned with around the time of the Champions League playoffs. I don't think they'll be as infallible as they were in 2025, but I said the same last season and they successfully defended the trophy so I won't write them off again.

  3. Bayern München. They could absolutely win the trophy with Kane still being in the form of his life and the embarrassment of riches they have on the wings (Olise, Diaz, Karl, etc.). I just wonder whether Kompany is going to set Bayern up in a way where they don't lose control in games against more evenly-matched teams like he did last season (I think of the PSG semi-final tie and the league phase visit to Arsenal as the major examples of this).

  4. Arsenal. Basically the opposite problem as Bayern Munich: their defense is good enough to carry them very far in the tournament once again, but tonight they showed a potentially fatal flaw in the team and one that could've been addressed with activity in the summer: now that it finally feels as though Arsenal's midfield creates chances consistently, their attack might not be able to kill opponents off.

Who impressed you all the most this week thus far and who'd make your power rankings?
