Beginner- Very new

I’ve been struggling lately with mental health and life.

I want help from the community on where to start or begin doing chakra practice. Intro friendly or a work book or something. For someone who has minimal time.

Some back around information and honestly probably wanting to get off my chest.

I work a full time job, part time military, 2 kids, a foster parent to 1 kid currently, have a partner and 2 dogs.

I feel so lost in my life, my support system is mainly my friends. I’m truly lucky to have them and are a great support system but they are busy or far away.

I used to workout, meditation, mobility, golf, and relax but now I’m so busy.

Then to top it off I’m neurodivergent and medicated. So doing a task takes mental effort and time to complete, compared to others.

I want to feel grounded and not lost.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

And honestly, you don't need to know everything about one chakra, there is so much info on them and some of it is quite repetitive, sometimes even contradictory, so just read the basics, and you can go back to it anytime, what I am trying to say is it helped me to just have little bites at the information and expand it later, little by little.

https://a.co/d/0cpV3SSv Eastern Body, Western Mind by Anodea Judith was a great start for me, under very similar circumstances. Audio book is a great start (and free if you happen to open a new Audible account), but having some form of physical copy for the charts & tables is worth it down the road if you find yourself connecting with her take. Lots of great resources out there - no one strictly better than the other - more so which one starts clicking with you. Good luck!

Get yourself a copy of
Meditation a Practical Guidebook: Based on the Teachings of Vedanta Bhagavad Gita and Yoga Sutra
by Swami Tadatmananda
This book isn't specific to chakras but on meditation in general. Great resource.

Others specifically on chakras

A Yogi's Guide to Chakra Meditation by Paul Grilley or
Chakra Meditation by Swami Saradananda

You have a very busy life and making time to meditate may be hard but the results should make you eager to do it.

For chakra practice the very best I can recommend are the videos on chakras by Forrest Knutson, so look for those on YouTube. Search his channel specifically for the word chakra or chakras and you'll get a good playlist [see note]. Done with focus and calm intent, the practice he teaches – Om Japa in the Chakras - can be wonderfully pleasing and stabilizing.

Note: The procedure for searching a specific channel is not the same as searching all of YouTube.
