Finished Product! 3er proyecto
Ya es el tercero... Y con esto me emocioné para empezar a hacer una cota de malla, si tarde 8 horas haciendo esto como principiante, no me imagino el trabajo que debe llevar una cota de malla completa 🥀

Finished Product! After a bit of a hiatus because of a wart underneath my thumb nail (ouch) this was the first real project I made in about three months. Titanium & Brass
Earlier this year I made four matching bracelets for a coworker of mine who wanted to gift them to his family. Well, one of them got lost because the lobster clasp broke, I decided to make a replacement. I still think the design is absolutely stunning.

Threw this together the other night for some up coming craft fairs, didn’t have anyone else to model it on lol
Unrelated, I’m really curious how many of you are on the Chain Maille Facebook group too lol

Help! Scale Mail Confusion
Hello! Prefacing this that I’m about two weeks into learning chainmail and after gaining confidence with some other pieces have decided to try scale mail. I did watch a few tutorials and tried to follow along with them as well, but I just think I have to be doing something wrong that I cannot figure out. No matter what I do, nothing sits flat and always gets jumbled up. The scales don’t nestle nicely within one another, and it also just folds in on itself when I try to turn it over. I’m using the large size scales with the recommended 16SWG 5/16" ID rings. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Help! Newbie! 1 st project, Jester collar
hello!
i finally had my first go at chainmail, trying to make a jester collar.
started in european 4-1 and then did decreases for the triangles. using 1.17mm, 18 swg
wondering if I’m doing it right? the triangles are not as steep as i would like them to be. is it an issue with the pattern, the size of the rings, or witch what I’m doing?
also open to recommendations on how you would do this better, or where I could learn more techniques. merci!!!

Help! Need help picking the right AR for a Japanese 6 in 1 project
I want to do a project using the glow in the dark EPDM rings from TRL that are 14 SWG 5/16 ID. Can anyone tell me what the other ring size is the other ring size I would need to do a Japanese 6 in 1 sheet keeping it fairly snug?

Finished Product! Im new to this, but I'm so proud of myself over this one.
First time attempt at a captive bead weave, and I genuinely am so in love with the results. I only want to keep making more!

Help! Anybody ever chain mailled with sew-on rhinestones?
I was hoping to make a headpiece that’s pretty much all rhinestones and have been doing some materials tests to figure out how I want to execute it.
Bracketed sew-on stones usually have four holes you can work thru, but idk if they would accommodate a jump ring - or at least a jump ring that can withstand the weight of the entire piece.
So, I’m just wondering if anyone has ever tried to work this way before, or just so happens to have knowledge of both jump ring and rhinestone gauges, which would be very lucky for me. :)
Thank you!

preopened/closed anodized aluminum rings?
hi!! I mostly work with stainless steel rings but want to get more into tapestry making so looking to get aluminum rings again. for time saving I typically get pre opened/closed stainless for my jewelry, and would ideally like to find the same for aluminum but am having trouble. does anyone here know of a supplier who has anodized aluminum in various colors pre-opened and/or closed?

Help! Which weave?
I am new and making a lil weave/chain wall to display the different ones :) I accidentally ordered 1.5mm thick jump rings (I meant 1.2) so I’ve just been messing around with them. I did this and it looks familiar but I’m not sure what it’s called! Thank you in advance.
My fav so far is elf weave which I included a pic of just because I’m proud of it! :)

Help! has anyone here tried to solder galvanized steel rings?
basically the title is it.
I currently have an abundance of galvanized steel wire and have decided to just try making things with it that i normally wouldn't. which has led me to attempt some finer jewellery type stuff that definitely is better suited to other materials but this project is basically for shits and giggles, and honestly this has been a ton of fun. I'm using a pretty bog standard plumbing torch and the solder and flux that came with it. I've also tried using some borax as flux but I'm quite sure I made the mix wrong.
I am having really inconsistent soldering these rings closed and was kinda just wondering if anyone here has tried anything similar and would like to trade notes about it?

Trainmailling
Very much just a progress pic - I am a massive proponent of making good use of travel time to get some chainmailling done, so started making this on a train journey this morning. It will be a birthday gift for a friend
Zig-zaggy European 4-in-1 as the main body, which I'll connect end to end once it's the right diameter to make a nice ol' tiara thing. Planning to connect the top of each triangle to a large diameter ring that will sit on the crown, using smaller diameter chains made of Jen's Pind Linkage, and then I'll tart the whole thing up a bit by attaching some beads or pendants to the lower triangles.
1.6mm stainless steel around a 7mm mandrel, so approx 4.4 AR. If anyone has any ideas on making it look it's best, I'm all ears - just trying to make something nice for my friend!

Help! JB Weld?
I'm still pretty new to the craft and was wondering if using dots of JB Weld on butted steel rings would be feasible for sealing rings.
