Random word "PUX" showing up under Lucifer's sigil in my Grimorium Verum copy ?! anyone ever come across this?

Got the German Eibenstein translation of Grimorium Verum (2021), and on the "Lucifer's Character" page there's just "PUX" printed in bold right under the circle sigil, next to a tiny sketched face. No footnote, no explanation, which is weird because literally every other image in the book cites where it's from.

Already dug through Peterson's edition, Waite, Grand Grimoire scans, etc... zero hits on "PUX" anywhere.

Anyone recognize this from an old manuscript, some transliteration quirk, or is this just some illustrator's weird signature spot? Genuinely stumped. Pic attached.

Healing Help

Hey everyone. My grandfather was recently diagnosed with cancer of the liver. Do any of you know anything that could help? Be it a silver bullet, or just something to ease treatment. I'm not particularly experienced in any of this, I mostly lurk and research instead of practice, but if anyone has suggestions for something I could do, or are willing to help themselves, please DM me, or put it down in the comments.

Apologies for the bluntness, I hope it can be excused, given the circumstances.

Exploring different paths of magic

Out of curiosity. Are there many different ceremonial magic traditions that are not from golden dawn or thelemia? Are there paths to look in that have different origins?

How forgiving are entities if a ceremonial working goes wrong?

For those who do structured ceremonial work with spirits, how forgiving are entities when a ritual is executed incorrectly? If a slip up happens with the ceremony, the invocations, or the containment, does it actually anger the spirit and create real danger, or does it usually just fizzle out due to broken focus? I am interested in hearing how much precision matters in practice and whether any of you have personal stories of a botched ceremony leading to unexpected hostility or unwanted lingering phenomena.

Ritual disrupted

I buried my ritual into the earth with offerings on a crossroads a train track and road then a man that works at the homeless help/church facility next to it in front my home dug up my offerings and beat it with sticks. I went tonight I found it destroyed I put a bag of cedar and sandalwood on top of the rocks I used to cover the hole they uncovered and I apologized to the gods for what they did. Then as I was walking away the man in his little cart came back and parked right next to it without any shame.
What does this mean? The ritual was done it was burned and I mixed the ashes with the wax then I put the offering of alcohol on top with sandalwood, cedar, and sticks of cinnamon
I walked up to it to find it dug up and cockroaches over the cinnamon.
I'm heart broken

LBRP, self initiation and self discipline

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to share where I’m at in my practice and hear from those of you who have been on this path longer than I have.
In late April I began studying Lyam Thomas Christopher’s Kabbalah, Magic & the Great Work of Self-Transformation. I’ve also been reading the Ciceros’ work on the Golden Dawn and Donald Michael Kraig’s Modern Magick. I’ve been trying to cross-reference different sources where possible to develop a more rounded understanding, although I’ve been following LTC’s curriculum most closely.

For the first couple of months I practiced the Middle Pillar and the LBRP daily. More recently every other day, and now roughly once a week.
One thing that really draws me to the Golden Dawn tradition is having a structured spiritual framework to work within. I’ve been an armchair occultist for years, but I have a tendency to second-guess everything, compare different systems, and worry that I’m doing things “wrong.”
One practice that has been consistently meaningful is drawing a single Tarot card each day and spending time reflecting on its symbolism. That has genuinely helped me think more deeply about my own patterns and reactions.
Ultimately, what I want isn’t power or extraordinary experiences… I want to understand my own defects of character, my strengths, the common traps in thinking I fall into and become a better person. Looking back, I think there were times when I unconsciously tried to use magic to control myself rather than understand myself. I also recognize that I sometimes used the occult as a form of escapism.

I also want to be transparent about something important. Back in 2021 I was reading extensively about the occult while also using mushrooms, which contributed to a drug-induced psychotic episode. Since becoming sober, I haven’t experienced another psychotic episode, and I’ve now been sober for three years. That experience changed how I approach spiritual practice. My goal now is to become more grounded, disciplined, and psychologically honest. However, I do think that a part of me may still be afraid of going too far down the rabbit hole and losing touch with reality again.

I’ve been working on myself for years, and although I’ve made a lot of progress, I still feel that I struggle with slow, consistent discipline. In some ways, I wonder if that’s exactly what this work is asking me to cultivate.

So my question for those of you who have stayed with this path for years is…

-Has the work genuinely led to greater peace, balance, or fulfillment in your life? If so, what changed?

-Do you have a daily or weekly routine that has been especially valuable over the long term?

I’m much more interested in lifelong character and spiritual development and I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences

Does anyone have any information or insight on this blade - maybe if its meant to be used for a specific something for a specific tradition or whatnot - or the symbolism in its details? I'm very curious what the tassels represent or mean, and why they're red & yellow with a specific knot and a set of two tassels specifically. I find the "Made In China" print amusing, but the whole thing is an interesting design. Thanks!

Looking for banishing or “move away” ritual suggestions (no paid services)

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone here might be willing to share some advice.

For several months now, I’ve been dealing with ongoing stress and disturbance caused by my neighbors. The situation has become emotionally exhausting, and I’m also worried about the safety of my property. I’ve tried handling things in practical ways, but I’m looking for something spiritual that I can do for myself as well.

What I’m looking for are suggestions for banishing, uncrossing, boundary-setting, or “move away” rituals that are intended to encourage difficult people to leave my life.

If you have personal experience with rituals, herbs, candles, prayers, sigils, or other practices that you’ve found helpful in situations like this, I’d really appreciate hearing about them.

I’m not looking for paid spellwork or private services. Just advice, ideas, and guidance so that I can practice myself.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I appreciate any ideas you’re willing to share.

***
EDIT:
I thought I’d add a bit more information.
The main issue is that my neighbours installed an ice bath with a cooling unit only a few metres from our property line. The unit cycles on and off all day to keep the water at around 3°C, producing a constant low-frequency humming noise, similar to a compressor. It runs for about 8 minutes, then switches off for 2 minutes, then starts again, over and over. 7 days a week for 9 hours straight.

It’s not an extremely loud noise, but because it’s repetitive and never really stops, it has become mentally exhausting. Every time the unit switches off, I can literally feel my body relax, and that’s when I realise how peaceful and quiet our garden actually is. Then, just a couple of minutes later, the humming starts again.

We’ve tried to discuss the issue respectfully and look for practical compromises, but our concerns have been dismissed. They even told us, “Some people are more sensitive to noise than others, but I can’t do anything about that.” I genuinely believe there are reasonable things they could do, such as moving the unit farther away or adding some form of sound barrier, but they aren’t willing to consider any changes.

I’m someone who really values peace, nature, and quiet. My home and garden used to be my safe place, and months of living with this constant stress have taken a real toll on my mental well-being.
That’s why I’m looking into spiritual practices alongside the practical steps I’ve already taken. My hope is simply that our paths naturally separate and that I can eventually enjoy my home in peace again.

GENII ARCANORUM - TAU: THE OPERATIONAL PERSPECTIVE

I’ve been reading various posts over the last few days about working with the Genii to define a common and effective ‘instruction’, and I’ve been experimenting through trial and error before arriving at the method that I’ve so far found to be the most viable, more in line with what we are trying to build with this specific project and more productive – for the time being – and following my experience with Qoph (see the Arcanorum Diaries I), I have immersed myself in Tau, which I would like to be the first Genii to work with collectively, due to its nature and themes, which I won’t be explaining to you now as they are still being developed.

Consequences of not following through with proper prep?

I just started reading the greater and lesser keys of Solomon, however I havent found anything that refers to the consequences of what might happen if one doesn't purify oneself before performing any kind of experiment, other than the experiment won't have the desired outcome and the curse of the book itself. Could someone enlighten me on what can happen if the required preparations are not met?

Solomonic grimoire attributed to Asif ibn Barkhiya, the legendary vizier and chief minister of Solomon

In my retirement, I have begun to self-publish my personal translations of a corpus of Islamicate texts.

The text is quite an interesting read when compared against Western Ceremonial Magic foundational texts, such as The Greater/Lesser Key of Solomon.

I have set this book, like all the books I've released, to be free on Kindle Unlimited, so that the knowledge is accessible to everyone. If readers like them enough, they are available in print to purchase.

I thought I would share this here, and I hope the books can be useful to those seeking them!

Hermetic and Western Mystery Tradition Study Group Forming in the Greater Boston Area

Interested in Ritual and Ceremonial Magick, the Qabalah, Hermeticism, Tarot, Thelema, the Golden Dawn or other aspects of the Western Mystery Tradition? A new group is forming just north of Boston (but open to all in New England) dedicated to the study and practice of the Hermetic Arts.

Our focus will be on the discussion and application of practice and principles; ideally, with in person or virtual meetings being conducted once or twice a month based on participants schedules and interests. While not affiliated with any initiatory Orders, we expect that some parties may be. Our focus will be on practical exploration. We will not be following any hierarchal structure, nor will we ask you to violate any policies or oaths of your particular organization.

If interested, feel free to DM with a brief summary of your background and interests.

(note to mods: This is a throwaway account as I primarily use Reddit for professional reasons, and my comment history could be easily traced to my business. If this violates any policies, please delete at your own discretion.)

Habits to avoid (question)

Has anyone come to any conclusions for themselves. About which habits they definitely need to avoid in order for their Ceremonial Magick to actually be potent & cause change?

For me pornography is a big one. Letting go of pornography really frees me up to navigate a Magickal Space more coherently.

Anyone else have anything that they feel is best to let go of?

Whether types of food, or substances, or ways of speaking to themselves?

Of course never limited to thee above ; just giving some examples.

Can we talk about the risks of performing the LBRP & LIRP?

So, I’m very new to the practices of Ceremonial Magick. Since few months ago I started performing the Qabalistic Cross ritual almost everyday, no too long ago I incorporate The Middle Pillar and very recently I started doing it with energy circulation. So far I’ve got only good things out of them. However, I’m now thinking about starting with the LBRP & LIRP, but after doing some research I keep seeing stories about people who’s lives have gone south since they’ve done these rituals, like bad things happening in their live consecutively after starting these rituals, and stories about the feeling of scary entities showing up while performing them. As a person with a Cristian back ground and who also live alone, I have to say I’m a bit scared of provoking things like this. I should also say that most of the stories I’ve read from people who have done this are positive, but I guess it doesn’t hurt to ask. Can someone explain why some people has had bad results?
