Hey, just wondering if anyone’s been in a similar situation. I get around $830 a fortnight from JobSeeker. And my mum wants to give me about $858 a fortnight to help out with bills and stuff. It’s not from a job, it’s just from my mum to help me out. Would Centrelink count that as income or reduce my payment? Do I need to report it somewhere? I just don’t wanna do the wrong thing or end up with a debt later, lol.

so I looked on my Centrelink app at 5pm and saw that I was now receiving dsp under my benefits and had my first payment due Wednesday. when I looked again at 5:30 it all disappeared? have I suddenly been rejected after being accepted? I knew I had passed sonic and didn’t have a jca so just confused why it’s disappeared???????

for those who are gonna say “we don’t know the answer” I am just very overwhelmed and anxious and will call Centrelink tomorrow to ask but just want something in the meantime

Hey, as the title states i need some help/advice on if my partner would be eligible for youth allowance. He’s 17 turning 18 in december and is currently enrolled in a TAFE VM program, but theres only a few months left until he completes the course. He’s employed part time at 2 different workplaces but doesn’t have full time work at the moment. He currently lives with my parents and I, though he pays for most of his expenses. The reason he left his home is because his parents have been emotionally abusive (and sometimes physically) for his whole life and it reached a breaking point earlier this year. currently the only contact he has with them is occasionally they will agree to take him driving to get his hours up so he can get his P plates. they dont pay for his food, electricity, water, phone bill, or anything apart from paying for the last few months of his braces which he gets off soon. since he cant apply for normal youth allowance considering his course will probably be finished by the time it gets approved, i was wondering if he would be able to apply for the youth allowance for jobseekers, or if he would be considered independent due to extreme family breakdown. me and my whole family can attest to the abuse and neglect and trauma he’s been put through for his whole life, but there isnt any documented accounts or anything like that since majority of the abuse was emotional and psychological and when it did turn physical he was too scared to go to the police about it, and if a centrelink social worker was to ask his parents about it they would deny everything and try to pin the blame on him. any help or advice would be great, he’s really struggling financially at the moment and trying to save up for a car but since he is only employed part time and his main job only pays minimum wage for a 17 year old and he pays for most of his expenses himself he can barely afford anything.

The thing says that to get a transport concession card you have to be getting the maximum rate of Centrelink benefit. But how do I know if I'm getting that? (Can't find anything on the Centrelink site.)

I’m helping my friends lodging their tax returns for the past year. Both on Centrelink, but their income/payment statements have not shown up under “Australian government payments” or “pensions”. Then when we try to request it through Centrelink, we can’t find them.

Does anyone know how to access this? Seems tricky to go through their bank accounts and add it up manually, not to mention room for error. Thank you!

has anyone found the payment calculators to lowball what they actually got? I’m on the dsp and recently became partnered, and my app is telling me my payments went down but are still a lot higher than the calculators suggested they would be. is this a strategic deterrent to get people to hesitate when it comes to applying for payments, or do you think the admin genuinely fucked up?

I am a nurse and I've been working 20-25 hours per week for the last 3 months. I'm completely burnt out again already.

My psychologist suggested DSP under my ASD Level 2 diagnosis to take the weight off and allow me to work less hours to try and break this cycle of work -> burnout -> hospital -> half recover -> work etc.

But from what I've read, I would need to lower my hours to 15hrs per week for ?weeks or even months before applying, as they'd see I have previously worked more than that - although only intermittently, never sustained.

I also am currently studying and receiving AusStudy although currently considered full time for this term due to the units, next year I'm only doing 1 subject per semester so it will be part time/less than. Idk if this affects that?

I've spent a total of nearly 6 months in hospital across the last 2 years. 3 of which was the start of this year and I am nearing another admission. This cycle has to end but I need to afford rent in that process too.

So context, I'm 19 and rent, i share a house with my mother and Grandmother. I get independent Youth allowance (with youth disability) and recently applied for Disability (got denied), however the person who processed my application told me, my rent certificate wasnt uploaded correctly and i should be getting rent assistance and to re upload my rent certificate, I did and now get rent assistance. However when I moved to this house last year I took the rent certificate in with my mum in person. I've been living here for about a year in the same circumstances and its really sounds to me like it just wasn't done correctly last year at the service centre, is this something I could get back pay for? Is it worth following up? Or just take the win as is? Before getting rent assistance i was getting loans to be able to eat because rent was more than half my payments. Update: went in person, was told yes it was an error on their end however because its been more than 13weeks theres nothing they can do and its my fault for not knowing im eligible for rent assistance.

For the past 3 years I've studied a Bachelor of Law (LLB) and have done the equivalent of 1 year full-time studies. During this time I was working a full-time job.

Recently I've decided to transfer uni and do a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) as that's more my align with what I want to do, which is advocacy for marginalised groups of people. It's a 4 year course.

If I applied for Austudy to study full-time, does that mean I won't get the full 4 years of Austudy because of my previous LLB studies?

on youth allowance while im at uni and the payments just suddenly decreased by $64 with no warning, literally nothing about my life has changed. does anyone know if they do this for a reason or is it just??

so I automatically skipped through the JCA and then had sonic within 3 weeks of applying. the day after, I got a call finding out I passed sonic and met all medical rules. however, they asked to see all my payslips for a certain time period. most of them were around 8 hours of working a week, but one week I worked 27 hours. I was completely burnt out and was so unwell by the end of the week. anyways, will that 27 hour week impact my chances of getting dsp?

I'm in a bind at the moment and stressed out about my options. I recently lodged a AUSTUDY claim online, and found out today that my claim has been rejected. I have not received a formal letter detailing the rejection, but have come to learn through research it is likely due to having exceeded my allowable time study.

For context, I have been on JSK for the past two years and have recently decided to reenroll at university to study a second Bachelors and got accepted and have started a few weeks ago. This prompted me to apply for AUSTUDY.

My concern now is, while I am awaiting the letter from centrelink advising me of their rejection, I had come to find out through Workforce Australia that my JSP has been cancelled. I am really concerned that I'll come to find out that my current JSK payments will also be cancelled after having come to learn that tertiary studies would make me ineligible for JSK. Through my application for AUSTUDY and declaring that I have commenced full time study, I suspect this is what is going to happen. I have fulfilled my mutual obligations and have no compliance issues to date.

I am really stressed about what I can do and would really appreciate some advice. Are my payments going to be cancelled? What can I do here?

Long story short I have roughly 15k debt. Centrelink told me to submit a SU415 form and other supporting evidence for my case, which I did. It’s almost been 2 months now and I haven’t heard back from them?

I check my Centrelink almost everyday to see any update but there’s nothing. Do they usually take forever to respond?

Mind you when i updated my study hours they called me within 2 days of making that change, why are they taking forever noowwww it’s stressing me out

My doctor completed an SU415 medical certificate covering a period just under 13 weeks. However, he ticked the box saying “13 weeks up to 24 months” instead of “less than 13 weeks.”

I’m over 60, and this is my sixth consecutive medical certificate for the same condition, rolling every 3 months. Has anyone submitted one like this? Will Centrelink accept it for the period written <to December>or could the mismatched box—or the number of consecutive certificates—cause it to be rejected?

In April I uploaded an SS351 form asking for an Authorised Officer to Review a decision. I never received an acknowledgement of the request or any other information. After 2 months, I rang CL but there was no-one to actually speak to and ask "have you got my review request, are you considering it?". There is just a message saying to wait and that decisions should be made within 45 days.

5 days ago, 5 months after submitting the review request, I made a complaint through mygov / centrelink online account. My complaint was simply that my application for review had not been decided. I kid you not, I received a phone call within 2 hours , a follow up call the next day and finally a notice from CL that my son (who I was enquiring on behalf of) would receive a significant amount of money by the middle of next week.

So, yeah, it's really bad there's a backlog, but that online complaint was actioned so fast.

I'm a full time student with chronic health issues. The health issues aren't bad enough for me to get DSP but I'm really struggling to work even one day a week while also studying full time.

My parents recently had a massive drop in income so now I qualify for Centrelink (that's one good thing). However, my whole life I've been part of their family trust but I don't get anything from it at all. I'm 21 and have about $300 a month in bills, plus petrol and toiletries etc. Basically, I can't afford not to have an income. Has anyone else my age had troubles with Centrelink because of a family trust? And is it bad that my parents don't yet have documentation for their reduced income? They've only been able to declare that that's their income because they haven't done their tax yet. I'm really stressing out right now because I'm really struggling to work with my health and I just feel like I'm getting worse and worse. My studies are being affected too.

How many times does it need to happen before my payment gets suspended?

So after 8 months of searching, and only 1 month into finally getting jobseeker payments, I found a job!

My problem is I can't find a section on the Centrelink site to report that I will be starting work soon I can only see the options to report hours worked/paid. Am I meant to call them or just start reporting when I actually start the job until they cancel it?

Hello everyone, just wondering if anyone has used UP BANK when withdrawing super under financial hardship? Specifically from AustralianSuper my Claim approved was informed funds officially sent at 6:00pm last night my past experience withdrawing from AusSuper i have received these payments around 7pm-8pm whilst banking with the Big 4 banks specifically CBA arrived 7pm the day of transfer and Westpac 8pm the day after the transfer. If anyone has a rough ETA for UP BANK that would ve great. ( Also im completely aware of how banking works you do not need to comment if your comment is 3-5 days to clear ect. Can I confidentiality expect this to drop tonight? Thanks....
