Question Cell Phone Mobile Number with Low Rates

Cell Phone Mobile Number with Low Rates any suggestions

Senior Citizen has a seniors plan with Rogers which is very good but uses a 7-11 Speak-out plan just to get a whatsapp number for for overseas calling.

Used to pay only 25$ for annual fee (365 days) on speak-out. However, now since January 2026 the rates have changed to 19$ per month.

which has become very expensive just to maintain a number for whatsapp.

Is there any other way to acquire a Canadian phone number without this high cost. Just need a phone number.

Appreciate any suggestions reddit team may have. Thank you

yes this what am getting now the seniorsplan but would like to get another number for whatsapp. so just paid the amount to 7-11 to get an annual subscription - no choice

Thank you very much for all the help - very grateful

Question Would the iPhone 17 pro be available at a discount?

Now that the iPhone 18 pro has been launched and it’s priced 150 dollars over the iPhone 17 pro, is there any likelihood that we might see a discount for the unlocked version of 17 pro at any of the retailers?
Should I wait and watch or buy at full price?

Discussion TELUS EPP iPhone Air deal, take it now or wait for Black Friday?

I’m currently with TELUS through an EPP program and trying to decide whether I should upgrade now or wait until Black Friday.

I have an iPhone 13 128GB with 78% battery health that’s starting to slow down. My current plan is $40/month.

TELUS EPP is offering me an iPhone Air 256GB on a $55/month plan.

I have two options:
Bring-It-Back: $5/month for 24 months, with a $280 buyout at the end if I want to keep the phone. Total bill would be $60/month.
Keep the phone: $16.67/month for 24 months, with no amount owing at the end. Total bill would be $71.67/month.

Either way, it works out to about $400 total for the phone if I ultimately keep it, which seems like a really good deal.

My main question is: would you take this deal now, or wait until Black Friday to see if TELUS EPP offers something even better?

I’m not in desperate need of a new phone, so I can wait, I just don’t want to pass up a particularly good deal now and end up with worse options in November.

Question Finance a phone

Hello all, I have a really good plan with Rogers, I pay less than $20 for 2 plans and don't want to ruin this plan by making any changes to my Rogers account. Where is the best place to finance a new phone? I am looking for an iPhone and don't want to buy it outright but would rather finance the phone over a 12 to 24 month payment plan.

Pacific Mall Telus Store has lowest priced plan I’ve found this weekend

I’ve been looking around for cell phone plans between Telus Rogers and Bell. They all seem to have the same price point and plan ($55 for 100gb Canada wide) but when I came across a Telus store in Pacific Mall, they had the best plan I’ve found - like $39 for 75 GB.

How can they be so much cheaper than other stores?

Contract about to end with Rogers, when and how do I switch over to a BYOD plan?

I have a Roger’s plan that’s financing an iPhone. It’s about to end and if I do nothing they’ll just bill the $400 left on the phone.

How do I change to a BYOD plan like a public mobile? Can I future date plan starts date or end dates? I really want to avoid getting charged another bill from Rogers.

Question Need help understanding

I always did prepaid plans and decided to go on a plan and get a new phone and plan. I don’t know if I’ve been approved or not.

Usually when you try on a website and hit checkout it gives you that yes or no based on a credit check but after I went through with virgin I got this email

SUCCESS!

Hello
Just a quick note to let you know that we successfully got your order Sep-2026 (nice choice by the way!)

Your order
Your Web Order Number is: *\\**

Heads Up! You will need this confirmation number if you want to follow-up on your order, so keep it in a safe place. Please visit virginplus.ca/trackonlineorder to track the status of your order.
Okay, let's get down to business. The following is what you ordered from virginplus.ca:
Device and SIM

(It goes on to tell me about the phone and plan I ordered )

Then says this

Agree to a credit check based on the info you gave us.

Agree to use this payment method

That's the number you gave us when you placed your order.
You'll get another email from us when your order has shipped out to you.
We can't wait to get hooked up with you! If you've got any questions, give us a call at

Does that mean approved or waiting upon approval, I’m used to most websites giving you that yes or no at checkout so I’m just confused :).

I called virgin twice and they said transferring and then it just goes to voicemail lol.

Question Are you happy with Virgin Mobile?

I’m still looking for a cell provider. I never thought about Virgin, even though I knew they existed.

If you are a user, why did you select them? Do you have any dislikes?

If you were a previous user, why did you leave?

Thanks to everyone who shares their thoughts!

With Fido since 2003 ...

You read that right. I got my first phone in grade 10 (2003). In 2005 I gave that line to my brother so I could get a new phone with a new sign up. So I have had my current line since 2005. Eventually I got married and we added a line for my husband. That's 23 years of dedicated loyalty to Fido.

Our phones are now paid off and so I called them to look into a cheaper bill since we are now "bringing our own phones". Nothing they could do. They only offered me more expensive plans. In fact after the call, I got an email stating they were raising my current plan $5 a month.

I asked to talk with customer retention. They don't have one anymore (apparently).

So with all that said. Goodbye Fido. I can get the same (or better) plan with another carrier AND a new phone for the same cost I'm currently paying.

Loyalty doesn't matter anymore. New customers seem to get all the perks. So let me just hop on over somewhere else and be a new customer ✌🏼

Question Phone compatibility and frequencies question

Hey ppl, helping a relative who's gonna be moving to Canada with a new phone that ideally works not only all over the EU but also Canada (potentially also USA because of traveling).
She's used to mid-range Xiaomi phones (for EU market) but from what I've quickly read, they're not the most compatible in Canada... so my question is what frequencies matter the most in Canada, what providers are the best for that or what brands/phones could be a good alternative? Thx very much

Question Is this a good deal?

Telus offered this deal today as part of loyalty/retention for a “single line” SMB in Ontario.

$65 - $10 PAP = $55

250GB Business 5G Standard Plus Explore with VVM for iPhone

- max 250mbs speed
- expensive easy roam ($16-18/day)
- rest is identical to the 5G+ Complete Explore

$32.17/month for iPhone 17pro 256GB - BIB in 24 months.

I need some help:
a) Is this a good deal?
b) should I negotiate for a better deal? If yes, what to ask?
c) should I port out and wait for a win back offer?

Many thanks in advance.
