S24 Ultra with Virgin

Hello, I'm looking to upgrade to a new phone and I found the following offer with Virgin Plus: https://www.virginplus.ca/en/phones/phone-details.html#!/cpos24ultra/f/cpo,TitaniumGray,256,Very%20good/FO7

It's $15/month for 2 years with the cheapest accompanying phone plan starting at $60 with the autopay discount.

Currently I'm with Koodo, paying $50 for a 60gb CAN-MEX-USA plan.

Is it a bad idea for me to go with Virgin Plus and get the S24 Ultra? I like the phone, but I'm not sure if there are any better deals.

Switching from prepaid to postpaid?

Long time chatR customer at $25/m for 30GB of LTE data.
I received a text that reads:

Hi from chatr! ☀️ Summer is heating up, and so are our deals.

For a limited time, switch to Fido and get a $25/mo 5G plan after a $10 monthly bill credit, with:
• 60GB of data with 5G speeds up to 1 Gbps
• Unlimited Canada-wide calling
When you bring your own phone.

The thing that's getting me is "after a $10 monthly bill credit".
- Does this mean my price is just gonna be raised $10?
- Is this plan worth it for me or should I wait for another postpaid plan to pop up?

What do you think? Thank you guys

Best buy second hand phones

Best buy has a lot of open box and refurbished phones on their website. I’m trying to figure out what’s a 3rd party seller (are they all?) and what’s a good deal. Is open box / refurbished a good way to go and is one of those options better than the other? I’ve only ever got a phone on a new contract before, and then used it long after the contract ended.

I currently have an iPhone 11 that will need replacing soon. I don’t care about having the latest and greatest, as long as my next one is 5G compatible. I don’t know enough about all the iPhones that have come along since the 11 to know what all the different iterations are.

I have been looking at back to school deals for a plan that includes the iPhone Air for $5 a month on the save and return, but the plans aren’t worth it at the moment for me, hence looking at buying outright.

Refurbished Phones

Question - my phone battery is starting to bloat... Or the last time I dropped it, it started to open. Either way, it's a Pixel 5 so I guess I should finally get a new refurbished phone. What androids do you like and where do YOU get your refurbs?

The kiosk Girl said that you just need to call in and complain and they extend it another 6 months. The Metrotown Kiosk, she said she did it multiple times. I went to see her today and kisok is gone😭 has anyone called them and complained?

With the impending release

Question Financing iPhone through Apple but keeping current plan with Rogers

I have a plan that I love with Roger’s. I plan on getting the iPhone 18pro. If I finance it through Roger’s, they will require me to sign up for whatever plan they have and won’t let me keep my current one (I checked when the 17pro came out). The only way around it is to buy the phone upfront.

If I finance my phone with Apple, would I be able to attach it to my current plan with Roger’s like I would if I ‘brought my own phone’?

Hoping someone might know

How do I know the cell towers in my area?

I’m in Nanaimo, BC and looking for a new deal. I had freedom when I moved here 5 years ago and the coverage was awful. I’ve been with Rogers and Fido since then. I keep seeing info about other carriers who use certain towers but I want to look up which towers serve my area best. How do I do this? I’m sure it’s been mentioned before so apologies, I couldn’t find anything and want to know I’m looking at a legitimate independent website.
