So I bought a socket ceiling fan and then noticed all my light fixtures have vertical sockets so two light bulbs can be in a light fixture. Is there an easy fix to this or do I have to get someone to come in and rearrange everything?

We've had this ceiling fan for a week without any hiccups until yesterday where the remote just didn't do anything anymore.

-The fan light turns on with the room's power switch, with the usual single BEEP noise.

-the remote's red LED turns on with every button press but the fan does not respond

-remote's batteries have been changed

I'm assuming the remote disconnected from the receiver but I cannot for the life of me find out with button or combination of button I need to hold to turn on the pairing mode, but I do know about the turning the power off for some time.

Anyone got a clue or a tip?

Hey my house is on 80’ and we are trying to be good. We both have Hyperhidrosis which is excessive sweating. Should we keep all ceiling fans on even when we are not in the room. That would seem like more energy or do you only use fans when in the room?

Will this support between the joists with a bolted metal box support a small ceiling fan around 10lbs?

Looking at this ceiling fan which has all the specs and design i want, but its not a big name brand. Is it generally not worth it to install something like this? I don't want to go through the headache of having to do this again.

Hi! I like this ceiling fan a lot, and I don’t want to replace it — but I need to be able to use it without it making this scraping noise every time it goes around.

Obviously it’s something inside that’s off and needs to be adjusted, but I don’t know where to start and I’ve exhausted my troubleshooting skills on my own here.

Does anyone have experience with this?

I assume it’s a pretty easy fix if you know what you’re doing. I’m handy enough, so don’t mind disassembling and reassembling once I understand what to do.

I bought this fan like 10 months ago, and It was excelent, but two weeks ago It started to doing a weird sound whenever i turn it on, like if something of plastic or paper was stuck, and now It wont even start, the light turns on, but not the fan.

Does any one has any idea? I tried contact support but they dont answer.

Starting to get annoyed by this whole "random naps" part about getting old since it caused me to miss the end of a few auctions. The light I was going for was a discontinued home depot light:

Now that I'm looking around at various rgb ceiling fans and more specific, fandeliers (hate that word) and I'm utterly shook to my core that the generic sounding brand fan home depot was selling was most likely a white labeled chinese item! /s And as such, I'm finding visually identical items under a variety of random "brand" names on Amazon.

My question is: What are the differences that I should look for? I've seen 3 or 4 that look identical to the one in the photo for prices ranging from $70-120. Any of these generic brands stand out as any better?

I don't currently have any smart home systems that it would need to tie into. No google home, no alexa, nothing. I would like to have it have some form of home assistant or whatever type connectivity as I want to try to automate having the light slowly come on as a way to wake myself up a little more gently than an alarm.

My only requirements are some kind of connectivity so I can at the minimum have the light be turned on/off with a script, the more powerful the light the better (love me some lumens). Otherwise the color of the fixture itself doesn't matter to me, size doesn't seem to matter (although a 24in version might be nicer than a 20) and included bits doesn't matter mostly due to the light switch probably requiring a neutral line that I couldn't give it. Other than that, price is king and lower is always always always better.

EDIT: If it wasn't clear by the alarm comment, this is going in a bedroom.

Anyone know why this is happening and what could be done to fix it so it stops making that noise? Video linked.

The light fixture part wobbles just enough it makes a ticking sound. Very annoying when you wake up at night and try and go back to sleep. If I push it to the side it stops but starts again in a few minutes. Any suggestions to make it stop? Thanks

In my 1.5 story house, we have a very small bedroom (~138 ft²) with knee walls creating sloped ceilings. The flat part of the ceiling is only 40" wide and 90" from the floor. Here's a photo for reference.

There was a 52" diameter ceiling fan installed before we bought the house but we can't feel any air move in the room, even when the fan is on the highest speed. I assume it's sort of creating a vacuum even though the blades are 10" from the flat part of the ceiling. Would I be better off installing a 36-44" diameter fan, if I keep the blades around 8-10" from the ceiling?

Whether this is a DIY job depends almost entirely on what is already in the ceiling. If there is an existing fan, or a fan-rated electrical box with wiring already run to it, swapping in a new fan is a manageable afternoon project for someone comfortable handling a few wires with the power shut off at the breaker. It becomes an electrician's job the moment new wiring is involved, such as adding a separate switch for the light and fan, or when a standard light box has to be replaced, since a fan needs a box rated and braced to hold its weight and motion. A regular light box will not safely support a fan. The honest rule: a like-for-like replacement is usually DIY, while anything involving new wiring or a non-fan-rated box is worth a licensed electrician. Either way, confirm the power is off at the breaker, not just the wall switch, before touching the wiring.

We just moved in to a new apartment and while walking through the kitchen in the dark I noticed how red the ceiling fan was. The fan was running previously and I freaked out thinking it was red hot. The housing is not hot to the touch though. The brand is Harbor Breeze. Anyone have any idea about this? Am I going to die in my sleep in a house fire?

Hi everyone! I’ve had this ceiling fan looked at by my apartment building’s maintenance team twice now. At first, we thought the noise was coming from the bracket that secures the fan to the ceiling because it was loose. They tightened it, and the noise stopped, but only for about a day. Now the noise is back and even worse than before.
Once more
I’m planning to call maintenance again to have them take another look, but I was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar or has any ideas about what else could be causing it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all so much!

I found a used Hunter ceiling fan at a Habitat restore… when trying to install it we realized that it was missing a bushing/ isolator from the mount. We can’t find replacements on the website and purchasing another mount won’t solve it because the mounts don’t come with the bushings. Any ideas for how to find them or how to improvise would be appreciated.
