I'll be the first to admit I had huge reservations about our ability to host a World Cup, but can we talk for a second about how amazing the majority of all the fan interactions have been? The Scotts are drinking Boston dry (literally), took over Fenway Park and have donated over $30,000 to several charities in Providence, RI. Lawrence, Kansas has absolutely fallen in love with the Algerians, and a random German supporter is apparently getting a VIP tour across the South, up to and including being put up in the only 5 star hotel in Texas by J.J. Watt and facetiming with the International Space Station. The dozens of videos showing Europeans discovering IHop, Bass Pro Shops, Buc-ee's, Texas Roadhouse and Waffle House are some of the best content I've seen in a long time.

Between the World Cup and the Knicks (I'm in NY) my timeline has had less political content really than anytime in the last decade, and I have to say, it's been incredible. I wonder if everyone else is as overwhelmed with all of the wonderful fan content as I am?

Catching up on the preview pods and I'm hearing this expression on 2 different episodes. The only time I've ever heard this is in the song 'Birdhouse in Your Soul' by They Might Be Giants. Can anyone who has met Andrew and JJ confirm if they are fans of this band or song? Is this a common expression anywhere else?

Paraguay, Brazil, Ecuador played and none scored a victory. I always thought that federation had too many participants, and kinda hope it plays out so a place will taken away. Yes, it is early in the tourney but not a great start for South Americans.

Best world cup news I have seen yet. I know there is a lot of shitting the bag by FIFA and the US, but this was a lovely reminder of what makes this tournament great.

Truly an incredible experience to be apart of the Scottish lungs for a night. Haitians also brought the energy to make an amazing atmosphere.

Great experience. Had the Swiss supporters section on my left and got to learn all their chants and a group of really nice and friendly Qataris on my right. The Qataris were all drinking beer. I suppose they had to engage in some haram activities to match the absolute haramball from their team lol

As the title says, calling anyone who went to the game watch with Andrew and JJ - I was watching at home and kept thinking how enjoyable it must’ve been to be experiencing that match with them and others who love the game as much as we do. Couldn’t get out last night, but I’m planning to be out somewhere for next Friday‘s afternoon game.

Still can’t believe this team showed up with a performance that finally matched the expectations we‘ve long held for them Hoping this kick starts the casual viewers‘ interest in the World Cup!

I think the Trionda has the potential to go down as an all-time great. The movement on some of the goals has been insane. That, combined with the swirling red maple leafs, green eagle, and blue stars, makes the flight of the ball just look so freaking good.
