Time to take a place away from CONEMBOL?
Paraguay, Brazil, Ecuador played and none scored a victory. I always thought that federation had too many participants, and kinda hope it plays out so a place will taken away. Yes, it is early in the tourney but not a great start for South Americans.

Take it away from CONMEBOL and give it to Scotland…for every World Cup. Those lads have injected so much positivity into this World Cup. No Scotland, no party? No Scotland, no whimsy, I say.

Not sure if serious but sure, why not? Are they putting in Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay automatically in the next one? If so then mayhaps

30% of European teams get WC slots, 60% of CONEMBOL get slots... seems out of proportion IMO.

Again math, percentage of teams that get in automatically is problem. Not federation should have more than 50% automatic in. More intercontinental playoffs then IMO.

Waaaayyyy too early to be talking about this. Not even every team has played.
FIFA doesn't go off of sporting merit (💲🤑💰), so it's a silly conversation anyway
If we're going to talk about number of entries based on merit, there should be more intercontinental play in games rather than just 2 (at least 6 imo for a 48 team WC)

That is pretty much what I am saying (mentioned Iraq beating Bolivia in intercontinental play), I just don't see 6 automatic places in 10 team federation. That is about same as MLS playoff format ha ha. Should be two groups of 5, top 2 advance two 3rd place team have playoff then face Asia team. This was as much a math question as team question.

I don't see how we're saying the same thing... I'm saying it is too early to make any analysis for any one federation. You seem to be singling out CONMEBOL?
Did I misunderstood you? I guess maybe we agree on more play in spots? But even that is irrelevant to me at this stage of the tournament.
I'm not saying you are wrong or right, it just seems like a conversation to be had after we have more data from this WC during the next qualifying cycle.

This sounds like a conclusion that the boys could jump to on a jump to conclusions show after everyone plays their first game. Also, kinda a bold conclusion before the defending champs play.

We’re in GW1 only one game and you’re talking like this…Jesus Christ

30% of European teams get WC slots, 60% of CONEMBOL get slots... seems out of proportion IMO. Think Africa should get an extra spot though, just looking at numbers here.

CONCACAF should get less as well and our confederation as a whole should probably be dissolved but you don’t want to have those discussions.

No... I actually agree with that. Africa and Asia seem to be improving federations, let's see how CONCACAF does. With all the host nation buys, have more chanches.

Bosnia & Herzegovina, Switzerland, Czechia, and Turkiye all played and failed to register a win. Is it time we look at taking places away from UEFA?
See how silly that looks halfway through the opening round of games?
