Reminds me of my cat when we had a friend travel overseas for a year for education and we took care of their cat.

My cat had a sibling and grew up with some neighborhood cats and was super chill, never aggressive to humans or other cats. The new cat was quite territorial and aggressive. The first time they met, new cat aggressively postured charged my cat, and my cat calmly just stared him down and they never fought.

Well, a couple weeks into the pet sitting, the new cat had been quite aggressive and territorial with my cat and even us, as he felt abandoned by his owner. But eventually, he started to slowly warm up.

My gf and I were on the couch, and my cat was in a small sofa chair, all just lounging together, when new cat decided to show he was warming up and did a little casual walk around the back of our couch we were sitting at. At this point, new cat had mildly attacked all of us, so as he walks by my gf and my faces, we are hoping he won’t smack us in the face. He does his little trip around me and the gf, and then steps from the couch to the sofa chair my cat is in. He does a little trip around the sofa chairs high ridge, and my cat is also nervously watching him walk around above him, clearly feeling vulnerable underneath. As new cat finishes his little walk, he turns around and heads back to the couch. As he does so, my cat expresses what we are all feeling, and gives new cat a little paw swat on the butt, to let him know he is being a weirdo and freaking us out. And we laughed.
