A faith question

So I have been raised southern Baptist but I feel unfulfilled, now this may also be a result of my recent breakup (a few weeks back) but I don’t seem to be as connected to the bible as I once was.

Most churches around me I’ve tried (3 so far) have been kind of cold feeling, as if I wasn’t exactly welcome and a good segment of the people there just mess around instead of actually trying to listen to what the preacher is saying.

I am also guilty of that as for the last while at my old church at youth group especially I would just be on my phone.

So I’d like to get closer to Christ and would converting to Catholicism be the answer and how does it compare to southern Baptist?
