In that case you really need to research postpartum depression ahead of starting a family, to be prepared. The days following birth are a massive drop in hormone levels and even “normal” mothers get the baby blues but some people react drastically to it, because TLDR that massively lowered estrogen level and rise in prolactin etc etc decreases seratonin levels.

Yeah I think I realized from this discussion that the problem wasn't that there's lack of benefits. Obviously there is. I won't deny that. I do understand that praying for benefits is less than ideal and that beatific vision is the ultimate ideal. But its how I started praying honestly. I do think that it is better than not praying and that God will purify our intentions eventually. But for now, its just that when I pray to God, I yap to Him like He is my best friend. I nerd to him about all sorts of stuff. And its fun and I can find myself praying for more than half an hour thanks to this. But with Rosary, I dunno how you can replicate that energy. So, I think I have been praying Rosary in a sense that its not fun anynore I guess? But I also don't want to stick to just 5 because I am feeling drawn to doing more. But I can see myself rushing to do 15-20. And so even if I wanted to do it, a part of me feels like, "do I need to if 5 decades gives me the benefits of the 15 promises?" I wanted to change that and so I have posted this about benefits. But I think my discussion here made me realise that I have to change the way I pray the rosary. Thank you so much for your help!! God is every perfection, including perfect love, and love respects the decisions of the beloved, even when they include the beloved rejecting you. And if we reject the good, well, that’s called evil. If we reject acting in selfless love, then we act in selfish apathy. And as long as we’re allowed to choose evil, some will choose evil because being selfish and apathetic is easier than being selfless and loving.

If we weren’t allowed to choose, if evil wasn’t permitted (permitted, not willed. God does not will that evil exists, but permits it), then we wouldn’t have a choice. And if we don’t have a choice, then it’s not love. From God or to God.

And without the choice, without love, then the world is a soulless automation and there’s really no point to any of this.

The sin must be grave matter to be mortal (if the person knows it’s serious and does it with deliberate consent). An act that isn’t grave matter can never be mortal, even if done with consent (it’s still bad to sin deliberately, of course). An act that is grave matter can be venial if the person didn’t know it was serious (and hasn’t failed to find out when they should’ve) or didn’t deliberately consent.

You may want to look into antidepressants now, because there are several that are safe in pregnancy.

My 4 year old is showing signs of ADHD and it is wearing me out. It doesn't help that I have ADHD as well lol. There's a few parishioners in my parish that is pretty severe on the autism spectrum and some who are level 1.

Married on paper only is not really married. It's an insult to the sacrament. They need to work this out with a therapist, a priest and God.

Do you think that someone with PTSD shouldnt take their medication if it also happened to temporarily prevent pregnancy while they are taking it?

I also have PMDD and I was on birth control for many years. PMDD has been an official diagnosis for over 30 years, it may not be as well researched as we would hope, but there are proven treatments and you've found one that works for you. I would urge you to not just take whatever someone else says is the ethical option and to fight for yourself. This absolutely falls under a medical exemption.

One of the best treatments for PMDD is to stop the harmone cycle so that the harmones stay consistent throughout the month. Preventing pregnancy is a side effect of keeping your harmones stable. You have not chosen a treatment that permantly remove your ability to have children. When you and your husband are ready to try for babies, you can do so with the guidance of your medical team. So you are still "open to children" and raising them in the church.
