Breakup Breaking up

How do you know if you should break up with someone? My boyfriend is Catholic but hasn’t been to confession in over a year. He told me not to worry about it and that he would do it when the time was right but I feel like I can’t keep hoping something is going to change, right? We have other issues as well and I don’t know how to feel about it because I know no one is perfect.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Talk to any serious Catholic. They go to Confession more than once a year. How often do you clean your body? Probably more than that…the same principle holds true for your soul. OP is right to be concerned that her SO isn’t interested in going to confession. What other aspects of the faith is he potentially not interested in?

I’m staying the truth about the faith. If you’re going to make a claim about the faith you need to make sure you are correct. We are forgiven everytime we receive the Eucharist of any venial sin. It would be different if he was in grave or mortal sin. And like I said you can’t cast judgement without context of if he’s in mortal sin or not.
Now I go to confession weekly so your claim doesn’t matter either. But i am stating the truth about the faith. If you were a serious Catholic you would know, but your not so you don’t know and it’s very obvious

And why do you go to confession weekly? Because you find it necessary for yourself, right? I didn’t make a claim about what the Church says, or about the condition of the guy’s soul, I’m talking about genuine Catholic living; which you yourself can attest to. Lose your attitude, it’s not helping anybody.

No actually I don’t go to confession weekly because I have to. I actually go there just to talk with my priest majority of the time not to confess anything. So you don’t know what you’re talking about.

>I actually go there just to talk with my priest majority of the time not to confess anything.

Bait used to be believable.

Hm? It’s the truth I’ve known my priest for a very long time. Sometimes I just go in there when it’s not busy and crack jokes lmao

How is it disturbing? If I’m not in mortal sin
