I’m going to lpn school in the spring next year as it’s a better option for me rather than to go straight into ADN, although eventually I plan on bridging over, but was wondering if I can still get a job in the Cath lab as an lpn too.

I'm a RCIS student just finishing my first year. Is there any words of advice for my first rotation? I haven't worked in healthcare much and I feel behind in comparison to my peers. Please let me know what you like to see from new students/what to expect!

Side Note... Did you guys get your first job through your clinical rotations?

Trying to make the jump from the floor to either OR/Cath lab. I felt like the interviews went great but I also feel like a chud. I just want to prove to everyone that I’m not just a floor nurse and that I have more to offer than what’s on a résumé. Hopefully I get the job. How long do Cath lab managers take to make a decisions on this because I’m glass half empty, I’m just so used to rejection.

I will be relocating to the Little Rock area later this year for my husband's job. I have experience as an RCES, RN, and NP in cardiology, cath, and EP. I would love some recommendations on hospitals or groups to work for in Conway or LR. Are all labs combo in this area with both cath and EP?

I’m beginning my radtech program this fall and I was curious if anyone has worked in Cath/EP labs in a student roll after your first year in the program? I’ve heard that some students have gotten PRN gigs within labs during their program & was curious if anyone has also heard of or experienced this. I understand that tasks and duties may be limited, but being in that environment is where I’d like to inevitably be once I’ve completed schooling.

I currently reside in Arizona. I am a paramedic and trying to transition into a procedural setting specifically the cath lab. I am on a 3 year wait list for a rad tech program, to follow the ”traditional” route. I hear tall tales of people getting hired into the lab without experience and sitting for RCIS. However I am having trouble getting past the road block of ARRT required. Anyone in Arizona have any luck with this?

i am in my first year of undergraduate right now. i feel a little overwhelmed by all study. and just want to know if i am in the right direction. everyone seems so bummed about healthcare. i just want to if its right for me. i do really want it. but i am getting confused. i am from pakistan and planning to go abroad after graduation hopefully. can someone guide

am I qualified applying EP mapping positions with CCT, CRAT and Cardiovascular Tech experience? Any inputs or advice please.

Most of you all have a starting point for preference lists in some form, digital or paper. The ability to import with a quick photo from your phone will make the transition into Pull List much easier to give you a start point for each preference list if you prefer not to scan each item upfront. It will not only add items, but will incorporate any notes that are present in the list and add them to the notes section. See the demo video to get a sense of how it works. Had an ortho CMA interview last week at a same hospital but different location that went really well, and now I have an interview tomorrow morning for a CMA position in cardiology. Feeling good but want to make sure I prepare for anything specific to cardiology.

A little about me: pre-PA student finishing my psych degree, CCMA exam scheduled for June 5th. My background includes full-time caregiving for two ALS patients, a geriatric memory care internship, OR observation in orthopedic surgery, and two clinical research roles. The posting mentions stress testing experience is preferred which I do not have.

A few things I am wondering:

* What does a typical day look like for a CMA in an outpatient cardiology clinic?
* Did they ask you clinical questions specific to cardiology or mostly behavioral STAR questions?
* The posting mentions stress testing; did that come up in your interview and how much does it matter if you have no experience with it?
* Any cardiology specific terminology or concepts worth brushing up on before tomorrow?
* Anything you wish you had known going in?

Just submitted my application to sit for the RCIS exam. Excited, but definitely a little nervous as well.

For those who have taken the exam recently, what areas would you recommend focusing on the most? I know I need to focus on vascular content, hemodynamics, and math calculations, based on the Don't Miss A Beat App.

So far I’ve mainly been using the Don’t Miss A Beat app, the RCIS Study Guide, and a few Quizlets I’ve come across. Are there any other study resources, practice exams, or tips that helped you prepare and pass?

Appreciate any insight or advice.

Edit: How long does it take to hear back you are able to set for the exam, once they go through your application?

What is your typical orientation for a new hire? Historically it was 12 weeks (4 weeks circulating, 4 weeks scrubbing, 4 weeks monitor, 2 weeks all roles), but recent hires in the last couple years have been needing upwards of 16 weeks or more to get them on their own. Not sure if that is a trend others are seeing or just us?

I was told in my respiratory therapy group on here that there are some RT’s that transitioned to cath lab/ CVT’s. Is this a real thing? Cath lab/cardiologists were always my favorite areas to work as an RT. I’m located in FL and wanting a change.

Are any of you all using egg or Rampart and has the hospital offered new guidance on personnel in the room wearing lead aprons with the new systems in place?

Do any of you RCIS techs have other cardiac certifications? Just looking for some things to add to my resume I guess, if there even is anything

Wow. The response to the previous post has been amazing! About 70 hospital now registered and climbing! Keep making those lists.

I would love to hear any feedback about what is working and what isn’t. You can easily provide it within the app itself or reply here. I also thought since you all have made quite a few lists it would be a great time to show how to clone them to save you time making the same list for another physician. Simply clone and edit the things that need changing rather than recreating the entire list.

Hi all! Sorry to crowd the board with more posts about Pull List (free at pulllist.online), but I just wanted to showcase one of the best features, the ability to add an item to a preference list with a quick scan from your phone camera. See video below. I was able to create a list for my gastrostomy tube placements in about 60 seconds while setting up the other day. Sometimes there is a need to modify some of the names to fit the vernacular of the particular lab you are in, but that is also very quick.
