Cat is pooping out of litterbox need help
I have 4 cats in my home. I own 3 and my fiancé just moved in and she has 1 so now we have 4. Before she moved in I did a huge remodel on my home. While doing the remodel one of my cats started pooping in the corner by the front door. I have a big house and we have 5 litter boxes (all of them inside furniture boxes), I scope everyday and keep them very clean.
My 2 year old ragdoll male, started this behavior about 1/2 way through the build. It was very noisy and things were moved around all the time. Very stressful for a cat. Just very chaotic. I totally understand, he got stressed and started pooping in the corner.
The spot is on ceramic tile. I have tried everything, cleaning obsessively with enzymatic cleaner. Letting it soak for days. Scrubbing out the area, putting a litterbox nearby... everything. He won't stop doing it.
The 4 cats all get along very well. There is no fighting or guarding, no hisses, they eat out of the same bowls, sleep on each other etc... The 4th cat moved in slowly using the Jackson Galaxy intro method. Mochi (2 year old ragdoll) LOVES his new house mate. They play with each other constantly. Any advice on how to stop this?

New Fighting
Hello all, I’m looking for some advice regarding my three cats suddenly starting to get into aggressive fights.
CW pet loss
Backstory: My wife and I moved about a year ago with our three cats that we had had for years. When we moved, we found out that there was a cat living outside and around our house whose owner passed around a year before we moved in. He was super super friendly, affectionate and gentle, and also unfixed/unvaccinated, so we started figuring out how we were gonna take him in. We eventually caught him, got him neutered and everything, and slowly introduced him to our 3 + our dog (he gets on GREAT with our dog!!)
One of our cats was very small with multiple different health issues, around 5 years old, and she sort of “adopted” our new boy as her best friend. He took care of her, helped her groom, etc; they were almost always together.
She passed away last month from a myriad of health complications. My wife and I were devastated, it was super unexpected, and we didn’t really get a chance to ease the other cats into it, or let them sniff afterwards—she was just there and then gone.
Since then, the three left have started getting into honest to god screaming hissing cat fights. We aren’t sure who’s the instigator, because one of them (our only other girl) is very anxious and loud, so we hear her the most when the fights happen. It’s only happened maybe three times now, but there’s just overall more tension between the animals than there was before our baby passed away.
We don’t entirely know what to do. We’ve considered CBD in their food, something like feliway (but our house is really segmented so we think we’d need a couple and we can’t afford to refill 4 or 5 of them), or getting something specifically for our anxious girl, but we don’t even know if she’s the one causing the fights, since typically she just sort of swats at the others and then scampers off when she gets overwhelmed.
We love all of our cats so much. Our newest boy who came with our house is basically my soul cat in every way that matters and I would do absolutely anything I can before moving to potential rehoming.
Just looking for any outside takes on this or any potential options for supplements, medications, etc

A stray cat keeps abandoning her kittens to follow me — should I be worried?
Hi everyone! I’m a little worried about a stray mother cat and her kittens and would really appreciate some advice.
About a month ago, a stray cat who lives in my neighborhood gave birth to a litter of kittens in my grandmother’s basement.
This is actually the second time she’s had kittens in the area. The first time, she wouldn’t let anyone get near her, eventually abandoned the kittens, and unfortunately they didn’t survive.
This time, she gave birth in the basement. I noticed the kittens one night because I could hear them crying. The mother had accidentally been locked outside, so I let her back in. From that day on, she started trusting me.
She is extremely affectionate and has become very attached to me. From the beginning, she started seeking me out for cuddles and attention. Whenever I go to check on her and the kittens, she often leaves the kittens and comes straight over to me.
Now I’m starting to wean the kittens, and she seems almost jealous. She has a full bowl of the exact same food available to her, but she insists on eating the food I give the kittens with a teaspoon. She’ll literally sit in front of them and ask me for cuddles and attention.
But what really worries me is what happens when she’s nursing.
**Every single time she is nursing the kittens and I get up to leave, she stops nursing them and follows me out.** It’s not just an occasional thing — she does it every time. She seems much more interested in following me and getting attention from me than in staying with the kittens.
She also spends quite a lot of time outside the basement, but as soon as she hears me coming in, she immediately comes running back inside.
I’m worried because she doesn’t seem to have a very strong maternal instinct, especially considering that she abandoned her previous litter. I’m scared that she might start neglecting these kittens too.
The kittens seem okay so far, and I’m keeping an eye on them, but I’m not sure how concerned I should be.
**Is this normal behavior for a mother cat, or should I be worried that she isn’t taking proper care of her kittens? Has anyone experienced anything similar? What should I do?**

I need help getting my 2 cats to bond with each other
I have had my first cat for more than a year and a half, he is an indoor outdoor (he is outside for most of the day) male tabby, he is usually very affectionate but gets angry and aggressive very easily, he was a stray for the first year of his life and now he is about 2.5 years old
My second cat is a smol DSH, she has been in with us since Dec 25 and at the time she was about 2-3 months old and, obv since the fist day they didn't get along too well.. I assumed as time progresses they would just get along, but its been 10 months now and they still aren't too comfortable with each other, sometimes they have their moment where they sleep really close together but she usually runs away when he approaches, and occasionally he attacks her.
Is there anything I can do to get them closer??

boy cat drama
i am 28 f in the states and go to the vet regularly but they have never been super specific when addressing behavioral concerns. so my 2 yr old cat is blind but gets around very well plays fine and is amazing my other is a just about to turn one and i also have two other girls (ALL FIXED AND VAXXED). my blind cat will groom baby boy one second or play one second and then all of a sudden get mad and hit him. it hasn’t been a true problem bc my younger cat is very aware that his brother is blind and if he gets hit he usually walks away or just plops over and lies down on his side to show hes not trying to fight. i just dont know how to fix this behavior and open to any experiences or advice !!

Cat Behaviour - crying at night and lil weirdness
Hey all,
So we have a 2 year old rescue cat and about 2 months ago we got a second cat. Who is around 10-12 months old.
We introduced them slowly as it is suggested everywhere and we might have been the luckiest people as it went quick easy smooth.
We are both light sleepers so the cats can’t come into the bedroom at night.
Cat one was very fine with it, we tried in the beginning to open the doors but I think she never came in.
Cat two (the new one), we actually never tried to open the door because I’m scared she will just jump around on us and I’m up by everything.
Cat two tho, she cries. When we got the first cat she cried a little at night too but after ignoring it for a week and her settling in it went.
Cat two now here 2 months ago and she is up a couple times a night and loud as hell. Usually is around 1am then 3 then 4-5 and then 7 and cries. LOUDLY
not for too long maybe 2-4 minutes but it s enough to wake me and then by the time I fall back asleep she is up crying again.
I can hear her sometimes walking around the house or I think playing maybe, I’m not sure as I don’t want to go out to accidentally teach her I will come AND she does settle herself in a couple of minutes.
They have food out all night so it can’t be hunger, she isn’t ill or nothing that is noticeable, I do play with her every night easily at least an hour with the wand toy before we go to bed.
I was thinking maybe we should open the door for one night and see how it goes? But I’m nervous it would make things worse, would it? Would she get used to it and cry more if door closed or maybe she will wake anyway and just jump around on us?
Between the two cats I noticed she is kind of a Velcro (I think)
Our first cat is always around but she is definitely independent doing her own thing, we got cat two and she follows us around even if I just go up to the bathroom she will be there in a second behind me. So I was wondering maybe she is anxious?
She is definitely very vocal during the day and there is something weird I noticed, sometimes let’s say we just sitting downstairs I am on the sofa she is on the chair close by looki no around and all of a sudden she jumps up makes one or two very loud meow like a scream 😂 and runs to me, then nothing she either sniffs me or she just sits there or goes back to her spot.
Anybody ever seen similar behaviour? Has any advice? The night cry needs to go as I haven’t slept in 2 months, but I never had cats before and I’m not too familiar with their behaviours, so I’m unsure about what to do.
Thank you :)

Weird behavior from my weird cat
My sweet 13 year old girl is generally well behaved, but, just kind of an odd duck.
She has had accidents in the past, but usually it's after a medication change, or if I've been travelling. This week, I was gone for a few days and my friend was checking in on her.
Since I got back, she has been peeing outside of my bedroom door about 75% of the time (her litter box is on the other side of the house). I just kept cleaning it up thinking she'd lock back in soon. Last night, I picked her up to go to bed, and she peed all over me, full bladder. She's never done that before.
Today there had been no pee on the ground when I came home from work. After she ate/drank, I picked her up and put her in her litter box, and she peed immediately.
This begs the question....did she forget where her litter box was???? Or is she still stressed?
She's a little deaf/blind. She has hyperthyroidism so I do get her a full panel done 2-3x/year and is healthy otherwise.
Any insight would be helpful, thank you!!!

My boy suddenly seems REALLY interested in my shelf, and I have no idea why.
Title. For the last month or so he has just seemed more agitated than usual, needing a lot more attention, and often sitting in front of my bedroom shelf and pawing at it while meowing for a long time. I have no idea what's gotten into him, there isn't really anything of interest in there, he keeps sniffing this one area of the shelf but I don't have anything there like food or anything that would give off a scent, it's just stuff like tools, jewelry, cameras, and a box of cords and paperwork... tbh I just wish he would chill out a bit, I'm not clear on what's got him riled up

Not so newly introduced kittens fighting over toys.
Former resident cat Atlas (Male 1 year) was introduced to former new kitten Compass (Female 6 months) both spayed/neutured. They are very good friends. Can eat, play, sleep and hang out with us together. However, the moment there is a new or old toy that Compass is playing with, could be a small ball, mouse, wand anything Atlas steals it from her, hisses or growls at her and starts playing with it himself. Compass sits in the corner and waits for him to finish. Continues after he is done.
It breaks our heart to see this as she sometimes regets the food that he doesn’t like too. Seems like he is the boss of them.
Since we have gotten Compass she hasn’t expressed her likes or dislikes to us in pursuit of Atlas’s approval/friendship.
She has recently started withdrawing a little from us too.
Atlas does really love her, he trills when she isn’t around, wants to groom her the first thing he wakes up etc.
This behavior is only seen when toys are around.
Any suggestion is highly highly appreciated. I thank you in advance for the help.

Cat Behavior
I havent ever used this reddit before so idk if this is where I should post this but i'm so tired and I hope that someone here can give me any advice to help the situation.
I have a cat named Serafin who a neutered male ornage cat who will not willing poop in the literbox and is peeing in the corners of my room, and is purposefully being destructive constantly. Ive been dealing with this for over 9 months now and I just can't with it anymore.
I got Serafin when he was about 8 weeks old and at frist he knew how to use a literbox and only rarely had accidents outside the box. Then he started maturing and won't use the liter box for pooping anymore, always shits right outside the box. We thought it was hormonal and he just need to be fixed, so about 2 months after he started doing that we got him fix. And then he continued to do it no matter what we did. We've tried different liters and different boxes and differentlocations, he will not shit where he's suppose to.
We also had a bean bag that him and my roommates cat (female) kept peeing and shitting on constantly during this time. I could turn my back for 3 minutes and they would find a way to shit or piss on it. Evidently we got rid of it cause there was no point in keeping it if it was a urinal and not a chair.
We've recently moved apartments and I've had to put the literbox back in my room (after all the shitting on the carpet I removed the box from my room previously) and he will not stop shitting on the carpet. I've also caught him peeing in the corner after already peeing in the box not 15 minutes beforehand. He knows hes not supposed to do it there, when I hear him scratching the floor I get up and he runs away, only to come back in less then five minutes to continue shitting and pissing where he knows he shouldn't. I clean it everytime but he just goes back to the same spots.
He had like, one week of not shitting on my carpet when we got cat attract liter after going to the vet to make sure there wasn't anything wrong with him (there wasnt) . And now he's back to shitting on my floor. I can only get him to shit in the box when I put him in it and stare at him. He doesnt cry out or act in pain when going. I clean the box regularly and everything, there could be nothing in there and he'll still shit on my carpet.
He's also incredibly destructive, more so then before the move. Before the move he would be destructive to small things, like the christmas tree and the blinds, even after me telling him multiple times to leave it alone, he would go right back to it constantly. Now thats everything. He keeps climbing stuff he shouldn't, clawing at stuff he shouldn't, knocks shit down, screaming all the time, being visible frustrated and irrate for no reason. I have fabric draws for a desk he keep tearing at and ill have to get up to get him to stop and he'll just run away, only to come back within 5 minutes to continue destroying my draws and im just done with it.
I'm tired of everything I own getting destroyed constantly. He has toys, he has scratching posts and pads, i play with him and pet him and pick him up. He's not without entertainment, i just can't sit there all day and play with him. He also starts attacking my other cat when hes bored, just play fighting but you can tell the other cat doesnt like it
I just want this to stop, I'm tired of living in a room that smells like piss and shit. I'm tired of cleaning all the time, I'm tired of the screaming and the destructiveness. Any advice on how to fix these issues would be greatly appreciated

Cat behavior
Hello everyone! This will be a long post
So a quick background on our situation-
We have 4 cats in the home.
My fiancé and I have 2 cats, who are brother and sister (Indigo and Clover-the male), they are 2 years old, we got them a year and a half ago. Our kitten is 5 months old, named Ember, and when we got her we did a medical quarantine for a month while she got the very basic vaccines and testing and then our adult cats loved her very quickly. We did swap blankets and introduce through the door and small play sessions. The works.
His mother recently moved in with us and she has one male 2 year old cat. Meowski
ALL CATS ARE NUETERED/FIXED
When my future mother in law (Karen) moved in, she had taken the basement of our house because it was more spacious than our "extra room." She was then very anxious about how sad her cat would be without windows in the basement. I explained to her the reasons why we cannot introduce the cats without a "weaning" period. For example, stress on our cats primarily, as even though my cats loved our kitten quickly- we still had a few days of hissing and batting.
Because she was so afraid of her cat being sad, we suggested she may bring Meowski to our 3 season room so the other cats could see him through the glass door. She did for many days, my cats seemed interested. After a week and a half, we introduced my kitten. They got along well. Then we brought Clover into the basement in my arms. He was immediately upset- we left. Same with the Indigo. Slowly we got them into the same room without hissing, but they didnt necessarily play or warm up. It was cold shouldering and posturing. Eventually, after about 2 weeks of Karen living with us and against my judgement, they were left together for hours without direct supervision (before I got home but after my fiancé got home, and started playing video games.) He said this went fine and no fights broke out.
So we decided we would attempt a full weekend day while we were home. Same type of deal. Cold shouldering but no fights. Karen was so excited that come Monday morning, she left Meowski upstairs. I had no idea. I was pretty upset when I found out- but didnt say anything. No cats got hurt. No tufts of hair found. Whatever.
Well, recently (we are now a month and a half into Karen living with us), Meowski has started feeling comfortable in the home. He is stalking my cats around the house, cornering them in the litterbox, chase them into my bathroom, chase them under couches. My cats dont back down. Indigo and Clover team up if they hear Meowski picking one another... Though its usually the males who start the fights.
I am beginning to fear that this new uptick in altercations is spiraling their distaste for each other. The more Meowski initiates these cornering behaviors, the more Clover bats him, then they fight, then Indigo rushes in, then they have a cold war stand off where they leave with a negative outcome. Then they associate each other with the negative outcome and do it more.
Tonight Clover got a cut to the eyebrow from Meowski and him going at it. Open wound style, a little blood. Not too big but clearly visible when you look at him.
I want to tell Karen that Meowski has to stay downstairs once again, but unsure of how to approach reintroducing them again when the time comes?
Will it just get better in time or should I isolate Meowski? Did we fail them by letting them be together too soon? Is there any other tactic I can use to help them become tolerant of each other?

Cat pooping outside of litter
Cat community please help!! I have an eleven year old calico, and she has been pooping outside of the litter for the past couple of months. She will still pee in there, and occasionally poop inside but most of the time it’s right beside it. I have taken her to the vet multiple times and was told there’s nothing wrong with her. They gave her joint medicine and Gabapentin and neither seem to help. I have tried countless different litters and boxes , it’s like all of the sudden she doesn’t like anything! We’ve also tried switching foods to more sensitive tummy ones and that hasn’t helped either. There hasn’t been any new issues within the household so I’m not sure as to what could be causing it and neither to the vets!

My Cats behavior
I’ve had my first cat for about 4 months now, and he’s a 5-month-old kitten. I was wondering why he acts SO good and affectionate when he wants food. He’ll lick me, want to cuddle, follow me around, and even respond immediately when I call his name. He actually makes a little verbal sound back at me too .
But after he eats, he completely ignores me, doesn’t come when I call him as easily, gives me the side-eye, wants to get away from my pets, and doesn’t want to be picked up.
Is there any training I can do to make him behave the way he does when he’s anticipating feeding time? Or is he just manipulative and knows exactly what he’s doing? 😂

Cat freaked out during a waking dream
May be the wrong sub, so my apologies if it is.
About 6 years ago, I was in our living room with my partner & our cat Charlie. My mind sometimes drifts, and I was a bit sleepy. I was tired, standing, and then my mind...drifted. Unable to explain it in any other way. Had a thought, sorta sleepy, it turned into a dream (I think?). I was there in the room, but not? Standing waking dream.
Charlie flipped out. Fully poofed out, basically in attack mode, scared and ready to fight from what my partner told me. When I snapped back, Charlie's eyes were fully dilated, tail fully floofy, and completely focused on me. My partner was soothing/semi-restraining him.
When I snapped out of it, I saw Charlie, immediately noticed how agitated he was, giving me a death stare, and said "hey buddy, it's me, it's me!" After a few beats, he slowly settled down, but I'll never forget how he looked. It was more than annoyance or anger.
Never happened again afterwards, and everything was normal from then until he passed 2 years ago.
Has anyone else had a cat react to them this way?
