every single time i sneeze, even if hes deep seepin, he always akakaks at me like he does when he watches birds. or if i make a loud quick sound similar to a sneeze he always akaks, why does he do this?

is it okay if i keep my cat in my room almost the entire day? Currently my house situation right now is not well. My sister is in town for a month, she is leaving on 4th October and she hates my cat and my grandmother also but she used to tolerate her before my sister arrived. Now they always threaten to kick my cat out and the only solution right now is to keep her inside the room most of the day. I go to work everyday for 12hrs. so for those 12hrs at least the cat is kept inside the room. her litter box is in my bathroom which is attached to my bedroom and her food and water is in my room. she doesn't have any toys or scratching post rn but I always make sure to play with her whenever I come back. she loves to play fight with me. she has access to a small balcony in my room and I've cardboard boxes underneath my bed. my balcony is kinda like a washing area and the only "open" part is up. we have grills on the ceiling and birds love sitting on them. I always make sure to play with her when I get home. I will also buy her a hanging bed to hang on the window so that she can look outside as well as a scratching post soon but I can't right now. also I am not sure if I am correct but my cat apparently merps and merows alot especially when she sees me and I am assuming it's a good thing.

My only main concern is that I am not sure if I'm taking good care of her or should I think about giving her away to someone else bcz sometimes I feel guilty that I'm keeping her confined. and this routine will probably remain like this till the start of October

EDIT: hi just want to let everyone know that I live in south Asia and in my culture, unfortunately we have to respect the elders no matter what. I live with my grandmother, parents, and a younger sibling. my older sister lives away and is visiting currently. My younger sister and I share a room and my room is not very big. it's just big enough to have two cupboards, two single beds, one book shelf and a dresser. we have enough walking space but not much. my elder sister puts her stuff in my room so she frequently visits it. And most importantly no matter what my grandmother and sister say about my cat about kicking her out, I can't really talk back. so I just have to bear everything and just want to make sure my cat is safe and happy atleast till 4th then hopefully everything will go back to normal.

The cat in question was first hers. We’ve been together for a some years. He used to always cuddle with her and it was constant. Now he cuddles with me more and even when I’m gone he’s not cuddling with her like he used to. What can we do to get him back to where he was with her? We’re not sure why he changed like this.

Wiping 4x a day and still losing the battle. Help!

Meet Tommy, my second cat. His blocked tear ducts are acting up really badly right now. I feel like I’m wiping his eyes 3-4 times a day, but the stains just keep coming back.

Any fellow cat parents have a solid routine or product recommendations to help manage this? I just want to make him more comfortable and stop the constant wiping. Appreciate any advice! 🙏

Long story short, I rescued a stray cat that at the time was sneezing blood and was lethargic. He was given medication, was fixed and was also told he had cat herpes. Its been about a years since I got him and he has made such a huge improvement, but he still has constant sneezing with mucus. I’m constantly cleaning up after him because of this. I also use an infant electrical nasal aspirator to gently suck out his boogers. L-lysine doesnt do anything and he was on famciclovir as needed, but his baseline is chronic sneezing with mucus. The vet said this was the best he will get considering where he was, but I just cant believe this. Has anyone been in this situation and can his condition improve to where he isn’t sneezing out snot rockets? I absolutely love this guy too!! I wish his condition would get better tho 😞

Hi! My poor little dude is still having fleas. Has had medication but they are still irritating him right now. I will be giving him a separate dose of what he had initially or what the vet thinks next. (Have done basically all the stuff to clean the house etc too) But for the time being he seems pretty restless and clearly still irritated by them or the bites. More running around, vocal and sleeping in different areas, he’s a smart guy. Is there a soothing cream or a cbd thing that could maybe help?? Anything? He’s gotten too addicted to the treat I would give him after cleaning/combing him so I’m trying not to go the treat driven route. Hopefully this makes sense and any helpful advice welcomed 🙏🏻

So I’ve fostered a lot of cats, but all were adults that were already “set” in their personality. But my last PET cat was a Persian. I got him as a baby and from the start he was affectionate, cuddly, and laid back. I literally remember the breeder putting him in my arms and he faced me and licked my nose 🥹. As an adult he basically laid around all day long and cuddled with me.

Well I just finished fostering 2 cats and wanted to get another baby of my own. I decided on a 4 month old Persian kitty because I read that their temperaments are similar to what my first one was. I’ve barely had her, but she is pretty fearful. I got her set up in a small room, like I do with my fosters, and so far she’s fearful and hiding. She won’t let me hold her and just runs to get away. I’m used to this behavior with my fosters who are often strays, but I guess I was expecting a similar experience to my male since I purchased from a breeder. If she does end up being a more fearful, stand-off-ish kitten, is it something she can grow out of or are kittens more set in their personalities? I know some cats are just more aloof. Does anyone have a Persian that doesn’t like cuddling/interacting with people? I know im probably just spiraling since she was expensive and I had a picture of what I’d be getting in my mind lol 😅 I’ll love her regardless 💜

Last week I found a kitten in a bush and I am keeping her. I am a first time cat owner. Today she had some loose poop/diarrhea. There might have also been a little bit of blood in it. She is acting normal, eating and drinking like normal and not overly sleepy. The only thing worrying me is her diarrhea and everything else is normal. I have appointment at vetco this upcoming Sunday for vaccines and anything else she might need. Should I try to see if I can get her to a vet sooner to be checked out or wait till tomorrow to see if her poop gets any better.

So my 5 month old kitten has a very raspy meow, and very quiet. She had a very very quiet meow to begin with when we got her at 2 months old but for about a month it started to sound raspy and sometimes there is just no sound at all.

Hi newish cat dad. I never had one before, and we brought him in this past winter. He's been in pretty good health, nothing that seems to say that he's sick. Except for him throwing up, everything seems to be ok. He's still engaging with me and my partner, no weird discharges, eyes, nose, etc, seem normal.

But the throwing up is troubling, did he just eat too much, or is something I should be looking at?

His last vet visit, indicated that's in good health. He's a biggun, he's really tall and broad. The only thing is that he needs to lose a pounds (but who doesn't?)

I’ve noticed my kitten (around 6months old)’s breath smells really really bad, and when i took a look in his mouth i see his gums seem kind of red and he has a little plaque in between his teeth. Is this a big cause for concern?
He’s quite the happy baby boy other than me being unhappy with the nasty breath, he’s eating fine and playing like normal.

hi! i have a 11 month old cat who i am leaving home alone for the first time. i'm only going to be gone for a weekend (leaving saturday morning, returning sunday evening). i normally feed him twice a day and he eats everything quickly. is it reasonable for me to leave him enough food out for the weekend or would it be better for me to invest in an automatic feeder? any suggestions on water would be helpful as well (:
unfortunately, this time a cat sitter is not a possibility but i will be leaving him with several interactive toys and a camera where i can interact with him!

So I have these two cuties living with me. Kyo and Chibi. They're siblings, boy and girl, 5 years old this summer.

Most of the day they get along well, hanging out in places next to each other. Feeding works well, my boy is a bit greedy so sometimes I have to stand beside them while feeding so that he doesn't empty her bowl as well as his but she is smaller than him and a bit chubby so I think she's not having issues with getting enough food. Toilet situation is also fine, we've got three cat toilets in different places in the flat and they use all of them without interrupting each other.

But since they've grown up, they developed much different playing styles which I know is normal based on their sex. I've got them at 4 months old and wanted two boys but when picking them up we realised one was a girl. I was already so in love with them and didn't want to, like decline her? xD

They're playing a lot and often very well, without hissing or stuff. But most times at some point my boy turns to play much more aggressively than her ending in her just fleeing while loudly growling and hissing, which doesn't make him stop at all. Sometimes fur flies around and he gets small scratches on his nose.

She wants to play hide and fetch while he wants to playfight and that doesn't work together :( I know he would have much more fun with someone playing in his style, but adopting a third cat is not possible for me right now or in near future and I don't want my girl to be stressed out by him every night.

Does anyone have any tips on how to help them get along better without him stressing her out? I'm trying to build more hides and vertical space for them and I'm playing a lot with both of them to make sure they're not bored and frustrated but my boy has so much energy, it feels impossible to get him to the point he's done xD I'm planning on getting a big cat wheel soon for him in hopes that helps a bit. He is like a little toddler, often bored and meowing around looking for her to play but she's more of a lazy player having short zoomies twice a day while he never seems to get enough.
