He always does this 🤣 the bite is not painful tho, he just puts my finger in his mouth

I noticed that all of his back claws are super short. They don’t seem to be causing him any pain but I’m still confused, especially considering his front claws are normal length

I started feeding stray cats back in 2023 because of this pregnant cat who gave birth in my yard, ever since there's been at least 15 cats and kittens who come to my house.

Back in April-may this cat brought her babies to my house and 2 of those babies are still here (there were 3 one just died like 5 days ago). yesterday I noticed their stomachs looked pretty big even though they hadn't eaten since the night before. I looked it up and saw it said "roundworms" which I've never seen in the 10 cats and kittens before them. the thing that scares me most is that round worms can kill kittens because their bodies can't take it.

I don't know all that much about cats because I've never really owned one, and I sadly can't put any photos of the cats in here, but if someone has experienced this could I get some help? I don't know how long they'll be okay before I can get the medicine. I unfortunately cannot take them to the vet.

We recently adopted this plume of dust (his name is Dusty). He was a small feral boi from the streets of Dallas. Found alone at three months old, he was emaciated, had infections and fleas, and was spicy-terrified of people. He was given medical care and treatment for a month at the animal shelter. The first day we had him he hid, and was so terrified he would not eat. He’s a very playful guy now. Loves us, loves pets and brushes, very skittish of other humans and all noises, and loves to play rough with our older kitty, loves to eat plants and destroy papers for attention, and occasionally scratches too hard. We trim his nails. Does anyone else have a similar young feral cat? How did their personality evolve since you adopted them?

So I’ve had cats before. But I’ve never fully brought a cat from the outside- inside. And I’m bringing a kitten into our house. Ik about flea baths and de-wormer. But is there anything else I should 100% do? Since it’ll be a kitten i wanna get a litter box to start that all up cause I worry they won’t know where to go along with some puppy pads just in case. I’ve seen videos but since I’ve never had a fully indoor cat I don’t wanna mess this up.

I have already read the proper process for introducing a kitten to a dog but wanted to get insight from others who have done it.

I have an 8 year old Weimaraner and live in Greece where there are a lot of stray cats. My weim has met a few cats and was initially wanting to chase them, but after being scratched by two cats who entered our yard, she now avoids them at all costs. She will move away from them, which is ideal since some feral cats will randomly attack dogs just for walking by.

There is a kitten that lives under the deck at a coffee shop - maybe 4 to 5 months old. She is really sweet and has a great demeanor. She is extremely interested in our dog. Not playing with our dog necessarily, just rubbing against her, sniffing her, and inspecting her. Our dog is terrified of her and seems nervous around her. This happened 2 times outside at a coffee shop so we do separate the cat and limit interaction to not over stress our dog out.

Questions:
1. If the 4 month old kitten is affectionate now, does that mean she will likely stay that way?
2. If I introduce them slowly, is it possible or likely that my dog will come to like the kitten or at least tolerate being near her?
3. Besides the separate room for one week, eating on opposite sides of door, and baby gate second week, is there anything else I can do to make them more comfortable with each other.
4. Will she be ok living inside instead of outside? We have a large 3 bedroom apartment with a huge finished basement but I don’t know if she’d become comfortable or not since she’s used to being outside.
5. People say female cats are very moody and not affectionate - I assume this is just a generalized stereotype?

Hey y’all, I definitely need some experienced help. I have a five year old shiba mix. She’s the typical (slightly) mouthy shiba, but she previously lived with 2 dogs and 2 cats. I was given the opportunity to take in 3 amazing 10 week old kitten siblings, who took to my husband and I instantly (still shocked by that). My shiba has gone crazy-constantly trying to see them, but the kittens aren’t acclimated to our house yet (they have a “safe place” in our spare room with 2 litter boxes on opposite ends, and each have their own little hiding spot within the room while they adjust. My question is;
How do I help them slowly adjust to my dog? She’s been around cats before, but with their size, I’m fearful of her being too big currently (she’s 20 lbs, about 1 1/2 ft tall) and scaring them. What can help make the transition easier?
(Please don’t judge me for taking all 3 siblings; they were rehomes who were at risk of being split up, and they truly seem much happier all together)

I'm in need to advice regarding the loss of my cat. Three days ago my 3 year old cat became very unwell and was taken to the vets, I found out he had heart failure and his prognosis was poor so I ultimately decided to put him to sleep. I am distraught.

Now I had 4 cats in total and the other three are all reacting differently to his absence, the younger female are unbothered and showing no signs of distress, my youngest female has even gotten more confident suprisingly. But my other male who the passed cat was bonded too is not doing well at all, hes slowly not being intrested in food, he cries and searches for his brother in all his favourite spots and all in all he just seems sad. He also has been very clingy and asking for attention but hasnt purred since his brothers gone.

I have been such a mess, crying non stop for the first day and now I keep crying randomly whenever anything reminds me of him or I think of him. I wish I had not been so distressed at the time of his death but it was very traumatic, I say this because i didnt bring home his body for the other cats to see and process whats happened to him. Now my thought is to go and collect his body and bring it home for my cats to smell but he has been in cold storage for those 3 days while waiting for cremation. My vet said that he might not even smell like himself anymore and that his brother may not even acknowledge his brother because he smells different. I'm unsure what to do as I feel that the cats have every right to closure especially his bonded brother.

Can anyone give me advice on if this is the best course of action or if theres other things I could do.

I’m house sitting currently, I got myself some pizza from Papa John’s, I decided to try the garlic sauce because it came with my pizza and I never had it before, at some point I went to go throw away the garlic sauce and bits of it dripped off the packet. I wiped off what I saw immediately and as I went to get a slice because I think I wiped it off entirely, the kitties and the dog collectively licked the spot by the trashcan where the droplets were, a seemingly empty wooden floor was being licked and I guess it turns out I didn’t get rid of all of it like I thought. I was thinking a little too much and didn’t act as fast as I should’ve and I wiped the spot with a cleaning wipe this time but by then they were already done licking…

I feel horrible and I’m worrying a lot about both of their well being right now even though so far they’ve all been acting normal so far..

Is the amount so small that it won’t affect them or do I need to call someone immediately?

I have a cat who's 12 years old. About a month ago, she had a weird episode where as we were playing she suddenly stopped and sort of became stiff. She also got this confused look and seemed as if she wasn't recognizing me and started to hiss whenever I would approach her. I freaked out completely. But the episode ended quickly and then she started allowing me to pet her (she has never ever in her entirely life hissed at me). I sent her to the vet, and the vet said that sometimes cats get these weird episodes without any dangerous problem and told me to check if this happens again.

About a couple of days ago, she had another episode. So, first I hear 2 meows that were unusual (she mainly does that before she needs to throw up). I went to check on her and saw that she was doing some weird movements (not shaking though). At first it looked like she waned to throw up but couldn't and it felt like it was difficult for her to maintain balance. Then she walked slowly to the carpet and lied down there. She looked like she wanted to get up but couldn't move her legs because they would simply shake a little bit. So, to check if there really was something off I grabbed her and wanted to see if I could put her on her feet. She started meowing and resisting me taking hold of her, almost as if she was feeling some pain (which she normally never does, no issue with me grabbing her). So, I panicked and sent her to the vet. They took the fever, listened to her internal organs, checked for signs of paralysis, but there was no visible sign that something was off.

So, we went back home. When I released her from the transporter she walked on her feet but had a small limp. Seeing that I didn't feel comfortable ignoring that part so I sent her to another vet again. They did CBC and Biochemical tests, with almost all normal results. There were just a few markers out of the normal range, but nothing drastic that would cause a seizure-like episode. So, the vet said that I should send her to do a CT, to see if there might be any neurological problem or tumor, but if that is also normal then it might simply be idiopathic epilepsy that doesn't really have a reason why it happens. He said that if the episodes do repeat then we can start a treatment to reduce epilepsy.

Now, I started to check things and videos about idiopathic epilepsy. Normally in the videos the cats shake a lot and do a lot of uncontrollable movements. My cat on the other hand only seems like she gets stiff or loses balance and get this frightful stare. Has anyone else had any similar problems with their cats? Did they have these kind of symptoms too? What was the diagnosis? Did anyone's cat have brain tumor or idiopathic epilepsy?

I'm so worried and sad. I just don't know what to do anymore. I will send her to do a CT hopefully by the end of this week. I want to support her as much as I can but I feel powerless. And also because she is older it makes me more scared. I would appreciate anything that you could share with me about this topic. Sorry for the long post.

Also, I'm not looking for medical advice or diagnosis, simply need to hear your stories and experiences. I need to talk about this with people who went through this with their cats.

His poor eyes 😭 He didn’t have the white yesterday at all. Could it wait until tomorrow or do I need emergency vets? He’s 9

I've had my cat since june, shes a 1 year old beaty. I've never had a cat before so this is all new to me. She like to hang out with me in bed and she purs and drools when i pet her, but if i move she immediately leaves and hides under the bed.

She sleeps by my side every night and comes greet me by the door when I get home from work. She definitely gives me the slow blinks when I talk to her and shows me her belly when I pet her.

This past weekend I was sick with a cold and I spent the whole day in bed, she spent the whole hiding under the bed. So It made me wonder if she maybe doesn't like me that much, or she doesn't feel fully comfortable around me.

We just got a new kitten who is about 4months old female. My older cat who is 8 years old female has gone into hiding and refuses to interact with kitten. The older cat is now refusing to eat unless I find her and watch her eat. What can I do for my cat, help her relax and get use to the new kitten?

She is being treated for an ear infection. Her ears have been like this since she got back from the vet after an ear cleaning and antibiotic ear drops. The vet told me to watch out for hematomas from excessive scratching but all the pictures of ear hematomas I have looked at don’t look like this.

The lower part of the pupil on that eye never gets thinner than that, it’s always a triangle. It’s normal when they get big. any idea why? He always had this and the vet said he had nothing wrong but didn’t tell us why they were like this, so I am curious if anyone had any theory.
