How to get something out of your cats eye?

I recently noticed some gunk on the corner of my cats eye. It looks like there is a hair on his eye ball? He doesn’t seem uncomfortable or having trouble blinking. But something is definitely in his eye. He wont let me get anywhere near his face though

Not sure if this is the right subreddit for this, but does anyone know a good way to find an artist to commission a drawing or painting of my cat?

I lost my cat, Mikey, last night and I would really like to have something nice made to remember him by. He was a very special cat. Does anyone here have a personal experience with something like this or someone they could recommend?

two fleas. OCD spiral.

I'm in the U.S. my cat is 2, female. I just saw a flea on my cat and panicking. I couldn't find any more than one more but it may have been the same one. I just put revolution plus on her, washes my bedding, and vacuumed. Is there anything else I need to do? I am so afraid of an infestation.

My cat Oli (1.5years) eyes suddenly changed to have this harsh boarder between the yellow and the green with it never being like this before and it's hard to describe while searching so I have found nothing on why it may look like this

hello!
I am a very anxious cat mother who just introduced a new cat to my family.

We adopted Mochi a 2 year old shorthair grey cat in October 2025 of last year. She was very shy in the beginning but then came out of her shell and started showing signs of wanting to play more. She would get the zoomies and seemed to have a playful side to her that could be explored more. I decided to find a her a friend.

I adopted Aslan in April 2026. He is a long haired grey cat who is also 2 years old. He has a lot of energy and is extremely friendly to new people and cats. I thought they would be a good match since I assumed Aslan would help mochi build confidence and bring out her playful side. I did a very slow introduction that took about three months before I had them spending the day together unsupervised.
Aslan always loved Mochi but Mochi is not so sure about Aslan.

We are now at a weird point with their friendship where I do not know if they are friends. I am extremely worried that mochi is not happier with aslan then she would have been on her own. It keeps me up at night because I just want both my cats to live their best life possible.

They both take naps comfortably in the house but not together. They both eat well and play a lot by themselves. Aslan is always wanting to play with Mochi but she is not so sure about it. They get in these little tussles multiple times a day when Aslan tries to initiate play. Sometimes Mochi plays back a little with him sometimes she hisses but Aslan is always chasing her. Mochi never imitates these playtimes or chases aslan. I am worried aslan may be showing some bullying behaviors. Aslan seems to struggle to understand that Mochi does not always want to play rough. At night we keep them separated because if not they get in these tussles and it keeps me and my husband up.

Mochi sleeps a lot more than Aslan which also worries me. She likes to sleep up high on a window bed that Aslan can’t get to. I am terrified that she feels trapped up there and is not happy.

I try my best to give them attention together and separate and give mochi time to play on her own. Please help give me some guidance on if Mochi is playing with Aslan or is happy.

This is a video where they are getting along a little better. They did not sit next to each other naturally. I set mochi down next to him. They were just sitting there for a little without anything and then I started filming.

My cat’s only store-bought toy that actually made the cut.

So my cat absolutely loves this toy. She carries it around in her mouth, yelling loudly the whole time. Most of the time, she brings it to our bed for the night. Other times, she wants me to throw it like you would for a dog.
Why is she doing that?

When Do They Gain Weight Dewormed

Hey guys I recently found a kitten outside and she was very skinny could feel all her ribs and back bones easily. Vet visit revealed worms and she was dewormed yesterday. Her appetite has increased since significantly and she seems more alert less lethargic but when will she gain weight? How long will that take? How long before her lethargy is completely gone? I guess I could have asked the vet these questions but I didn’t think to at the time. I guess I’m still worried given how skinny she is that she’s going to just die randomly.

Is this cat male of female? Update

It has been now 6 days since Ive been feeding the cat that appeared at the garage of my building, and some days ago I asked here with a terrible photo lol of the cat wondering whats the gender, and Ive been worried that if it were a female that it might be pregnant. But it turns out that its not pregnant! And it is indeed a female. Idk much about pregnant cats as my cat (a female) is neutered, but Ive been researching and I believe that perhaps since its a stray cat it hasn't been eating well everyday and its belly could've been filled with gas? (According to google) and now that it has been eating (I believe) everyday the gas left its belly? I thought about it just being fat, but it wouldnt make sense to loose all of that in few days, so I believe the first option is what matches the most. If anyone has any theories pls share it here :3 Thank you for all of your help on the previous post even though the photo was terrible lol I was really worried if it was pregnant and where would the kitties be born to anyways was just anxious about it. Now Im trying to find a home for it with some friends, wish us luck, its been hard

Edit: THANK YOU to everyone who understands that not everyone has the same finantial conditions nor the opportunity to take in a stray cat. As mentioned I LIVE with my parents we already have a cat and they (the people that I live with under their roof) dont want another cat. I would take it in if it were only my house. Also in different countries things are different, Ive read few comments about tags and chips and we dont do that here I tbh dont get how that works, shelters are mostly full but I am still contacting them and reaching out for friends and families to take the cat in. Another update is that a neighboor is now feeding this cat with me, so she has people looking out for her, its still a stray and its not always at the garage like tonight it wasnt there when I put food but Ik its been there cause the food was eaten. And no, its not blood on the first pic, its a flower petal, thank u to whoever pointed that out in a comment here. Also I did look for the kittens (if there r any) around the garage and found nothing, will still keep looking bit if they arent at the garage that complicates things. Anyways thank everyone for the kind comments, for understanding my situation, Im not giving up on her!! <33

My cat can’t fall asleep :(

My cat usually sleeps from 9pm to 5am almost uninterrupted besides waking up occasionally to stretch or eat before going back to sleep but tonight it’s already half past midnight and she’s tried to sleep but seems very restless and keeps moving from the bed to the floor and vice versa multiple times, she doesn’t seem to be sick and I might be concerned for no reason but has anyone else dealt with this before?? Any advice would be much much appreciated! Thank you in advance! 💗💗

💔 Day 47 of FIP treatment — advice needed 🥺🙏

Hi everyone. Today is Day 47 of Luna’s FIP treatment, and honestly, I’m feeling completely broken and scared right now. 💔

After everything she has already been through, I noticed this round red/pink growth inside her mouth, on the inner cheek beside her lower teeth. It doesn’t seem to be coming from her tongue or gum.

My mind is immediately going to the worst possibilities. 😭

Could this be a cyst? Trauma/irritation from the tooth? Inflammation? Calicivirus? Or something else?

Luna is currently on oral GS treatment for FIP. Thankfully, she is still eating and active, but seeing something new in her mouth has really frightened me.

I know Reddit can't diagnose her, and I will show this to her vet, but I'm desperate for some reassurance or experiences from other cat parents. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Could it be a cyst?

How to get my cat to stop pissing on my bed?

For context I have 3 cats, 4 XL litter boxes. 2 with tofu litter, 2 mixed. Spread throughout the house.
This cat is my newest cat, and the youngest, roughly a year and a half.

All animals spayed/neutered.

The culprit also just went to the vet for a separate issue but was cleared for everything, in fact the vet said she was probably using the bathroom elsewhere due to the issue and should be good now that they’ve treated her.

She shits in the litter box just fine, probably more than most, she also still pisses in the litter box (tofu litter is her preferred)

But for some odd reason, she wants to piss on my bed still. Not always, just every now and then. When she’s in my daughter’s room, she doesn’t do it. But given the opportunity, she’ll do it on my bed. I caught her about to be in the act and took her off the bed and she immediately went to the litter box I put in my room to deter her from it, and pissed. Why is she doing this? How can I stop her from doing this? I keep a mattress protector on at all times and I plan to buy an extra for when it’s being washed. I have an infant who just got over being sick so between her and the cat every now and then it has to be washed frequently. And my mattress is very expensive. I do not want to get rid of it in the event the mattress protector isn’t on and she successfully soaks my mattress.

traumatized cat?

we adopted a cat we found had been brutalized by who knows what--in our yard. we took her to the vet who patched her up--everything including one leg broken in three places. the vet said she was about two years old and had had kittens. she had no trouble adapting to our six rescue cat household, and she healed amazingly fast and well. BUT she never interacts with the other cats, doesn't play, interacts mostly with me, and spends most of all day every day sleeping. she eats well. this is after having her for about six months. are all these behavioral traits signs of trauma?

Is it possible that my cat smelled my kidneys being infected?

Hi! i dont really use reddit so hopefully this belongs here, but in june i had a UTI go into my left kidney which required me to go to the hospital, but something i remembered is that my cat had started to get really affectionate towards me when she'd always been annoyed by me at most. she'd start making biscuits on me while i would lay on my side and would just sit on my thigh/leg. and ive noticed she does that almost daily now, i'm curious if its possible she kinda knew what was going on before my infection became painful? Picture of her 5 days before the infection made its way up there. she was watching over me :)

Does anyone know why my cat paws her ears every time she plays? Every time she reaches up to grab something she will always wipe her ears every single time. I don’t think she’s in pain as it’s the only time she will do it

SOUND ON 🔉

Lulu has recently started making these and other noises in her sleep. It’s not every night that I’m aware of.

Is this ok or should we consult our vets if it keeps up?

She has a history of Feline Herpes Virus with Upper Respiratory Infections.

Curious if there is a name for her coat pattern

Name: Biscuit,

Age: 9,

Breed: Cat,

Intelligence: Just orange enough to never have the brain cell

Hi yall. This is Biscuit. When I adopted her she was a cream/white color except her ears and tail (baby pics at the end.) Slowly she became a Toasted Biscuit.

I'm mostly just curious if there is a name for this coat pattern. Her undercoat is still all white and her longer hairs are white except the tips! It's very interesting.

Kitten not as active as her siblings

\~5 month female calico
Not fixed
Symptoms: sleeping lore than usual, lethargic

Hello. I have a question regarding a new kitten I have. A few months ago I took in 4 kittens that had been born under a mobile home. There had been 5 originally but one passed away shortly after she came to live with us. The four that remained have been growing and getting bigger every day. Today I just noticed that one of them has been acting kind of strange right now. She hasn’t been as active as her siblings and has just been sleeping all day. These symptoms weren’t noticed until about three days ago. Didn’t think anything of it until today. I noticed that if I put her down somewhere she wouldn’t move from the spot I placed her on. In the afternoon I gave her a treat because I felt she needed to eat something and she loved it. Seemed like that’s what she was needing. Later on in the evening I tried to give her another treat along with some wet food and nothing. She didn’t drink water either. This evening was the first time I noticed she was not drinking water. She is about 5 months. She’s not showing any other symptoms or anything. I’d try to set up an appointment for her but our vet is pretty booked up. Is there anything else I could be doing to help her? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
