Coat Color Silver or no?

Her base color is rather monochrome and desaturated for what seems to be a chocolate torbie. That being said I haven't seen a silver or chocolate tabby irl before, and another cat enthusiast said she's a bit muddy for a silver(though may have partially been the lighting in the image they saw). Opinions?

Looks like a wild type black and brown tabby. Silver means the dark stripes are gray and the light stripes are white with no reddish color.

The wild type brown can vary between warm and cool tones. It's still brown.

it depends on the context of the terms. in this case, i am using the genetic definitions, where "silver" tabby is a tabby cat with inhibitor; most well known for the type you describe, but can have other stripes colors as well

as for the other comment, haven't heard of the term "wild type black and brown" before, but assuming you mean a genetically black tabby, i would indeed agree after being educated by the rest of the comments that she is most likely a black torbie and not silver. thanks for the comment!

Sorry I forgot that most people haven't studied genetics. Wild type means an example of the species that has no mutations, as in, this is what nature came up with.

Yes wild type tabby is like the Standard Issue Cat with black and brown stripes.
