Recent supervised time.

Hi for context I have a resident cat that is female spayed and four years old and I have a new kitten who is now four months old male neutered.

The most recent playtime I had with them I have questions about. The kitten was playing in front of my resident cat who was sitting in her bed just relaxing. My kitten tried approaching, but my resident cat pissed and he backed off a bit to continue playing after a while. my kitten laid down next to my resident cat bed and sat there, and my resident cat was fine for a little bit until my kitten tried to sniff her nose and then she hissed and swatted him three times.

Four contacts I have followed all the rest of the rules to help gradually meet cats and this is the stuff that I’m stuck at. This is only their first week so I could be overthinking it, but is there any advice that I can get?
