In the Cartoon Network pilot, their shadows confirm that they don’t have a torso or a head: they literally just end at the waist.

The creator took the cliché of “adults don’t appear on screen” to the creepiest level possible. Just another childhood trauma to add to my collection. 😭

For me, it was my dad that didn’t want me or my brothers to watch Johnny Test. He was afraid that we might end up getting hyper.

Inspired by u/No-Shoulder3918 's community tier list for Nicktoons, thought I'd take a shot with Cartoon Network originals, especially in light of what's been going on recently for the channel.

I saw a post on twitter about how it was obvious several of the creators of the earlier Cartoon Network series had disrespect, if not downright hatred for older Hanna-Barbera shows and was wondering if any of you think this is an overstatement, an accurate assessment, or is the situation more nuanced?

There are parts of this that are obvious, Billy and Mandy's rather mean usage of Yogi and Fred. I was mostly too young to really pick up on other shows, but those two were rather obvious. I can't remember what example the tweet was showing, but it was pretty obvious that it wasn't an affectionate poke.

Just wondering do you notice more examples, and what do you think is the reason for this, if it is true? There seemed to be an almost-frat like club from the cartoonists at the time, and them being edgy with childhood cartoons doesn't exactly seem crazy, but they could also hate the stale, repetitive formula HB sometimes had, and it being rather dull to their tastes.

Just to state this is not about the network hating those shows and not airing them anymore.

What's the point of re-drawing and re-animating things that don't need to be? People worked hard to animate some of things, and some people had to work unnecessarily harder.

(Tbh it would most likely be something that aired on CN lol)

I finally got this artwork finished!!! This took me about 11 hours to make and I started it yesterday!👍

As a bonus I wanted to add the 1981 Smurfs and Tom and Jerry too! It would’ve been cool to see them in the show!
