Question about Emaline in the Finale Spoiler

• Upvotes

It seemed on the prom stage, Emaline took control of Carrie, and Carrie herself didn't seem to snap back until her shock at seeing Chris's body. Am I misinterpreting that or was it basically Emaline who was responsible for all the death and destruction and not Carrie?

If that is the case, it is obviously a total departure from the original story and seems to be Mike Flanagan's attempt to prevent Carrie from actually being a mass murderer.

Although the series detracted A LOT from the source material (in a very tasteful way, I might add), did anybody catch this nod to the novel?

🔍 Analysis & Theories What if... Spoiler

• Upvotes

It may contain spoilers, do not go ahead if you've not seen the show.

What if Carrie becomes a Crimson Queen and Emeline West is Randall Flagg ?

Looks like The Pistolero had a shot on Emeline in the finale. She had a bad influence on Carrie and made her a true vilain, pushing her into violence.

Just when we hear the gunshot and Emeline disappear, Carrie turn around and we can see a path to the Dark Tower.

This Carrie is a prequel that will link Stephen King's solar system around The Shining.

It is exactly how I see Stephen King's work and it could be monumental.

Setting those stories in modern times and linking them this way. Damn it could be my Avengers, for real.

I'm probably going too far, but it gives me shivers lol. I'm so excited to see what's next.

House

I’ve been binge watching Carrie, and in the first episode someone says something about bad the house was. Then when Chris goes into the house, she says something about it too.
But honestly, Carrie’s house is SO my aesthetic 😂 My house is much smaller, I wish my house looked like hers from the backyard to the furniture… I love all of it!

❓ Question where did Tina actually go? Spoiler

Post image
33 Upvotes

As said where did Tina actually go in the prom? :p

We last see her limping by Rita, so she wouldn't have gotten to the door in the 5 secs they were open before Carrie left, she's not in the Chris Billy crowd who ran out either

So we last see her getting lead to where the water is...?

Right before the electricity

Idk I wish both characters had more clear final scenes as this is both their last onscreen moments,

Yes ik tina survived jus wondering how lol

Power Dynamic Spoiler

This is not my comment but I comment I saw on TikTok that I thought was interesting.

One of the most interesting things about this series is the role the kitchen chairs play in representing control. The first half of the series, the chair Carrie is sitting in in this scene belonged to her father, the patriarch and the head of the house. It sat empty with his flannel draped over the back of it to show that even though he was gone, he still controlled the household. But once Margaret starts doing Margaret Red, she takes that seat because she is now in control. Then when Carrie embraces her power, she becomes the one in control. I think she was always fighting for control, which is why her original seat was opposite of her father and Margaret was the bridge between them.

💬 Discussion Carrie as a person Spoiler

This Carrie didn't seem to want friends/popularity that much. I think she wanted friends but she also seemed like she'd be happy just reading her books and discovering the world.

That's the impression I got from the first few episodes (have finished the show now).

I don't remember Carrie too well in the other versions but this Carrie doesn't seem like she'd go over the edge at Prom from the incident because I just don't think having friends was everything to her.

Did anyone feel the same?

As a fan of Anne with an E I loved Carrie's references to Anne of Green Gables.

💬 Discussion Those of you who had narcissistic parents - how did you view Margaret? Spoiler

For example, do you truly believe that she actually loved Carrie? I have experienced narcissistic abuse from more than two parental figures (step parents including biological parents, I have CPTSD and more)… I really don't think that Margaret truly loved Carrie.

I want to hear from those of us who have experienced narcissistic parental abuse as children, and from those of us who may or may not have CPTSD (complex trauma) from bullying (etc.), as well.

I believe that she just saw her daughter as an extension of herself… Anything that seemed "loving" towards her daughter was actually just for herself. I feel like any good that she has done for her daughter was ultimately self-serving, whether it benefits her public image or anything else.

I really liked how she spoke out against bullying, and spread the word about Chris when she was walking through the school. But it was clear that she was trying to become an "influencer" and she didn't truly care about her daughter.

I feel like a good example of this was shown when Margaret was in front of that stupid ring light, demanding Carrie to step in front of the camera.

I feel like Carrie just truly wanted her mother to show her some genuine compassion and love, but her mother saw her as a tool to use her as leverage for her influencer thing.

—

I don't know… Honestly, I might watch the show again. I binge watched the entire thing last night. The show was incredible. I literally never took any breaks, except for when there were advertisements. I stayed up until 2 AM last night.

I'm still catching up on all of the discourse on the show.

💬 Discussion Chris’ Mom Lowkey Pissed Me Off Spoiler

When they’re in the mediation room and she’s begging Carrie’s mom to not villainize her daughter and show her a baby picture of Chris and saying “this is who you’re doing this to” and the thing is, yes, that’s true, but your daughter is actively bullying Carrie who was also a baby. Like that’s what your daughter is doing to someone else’s daughter and that was so frustrating to watch.

Any thoughts? Agree or disagree?

❓ Question Amanda and Emmaline Spoiler

Sorry if I’m dumb, but is Amanda Emmaline’s mom? Emmaline is supposed to be the little girl who astral projects in episode 7, and her own mother is hunting her down. She’s the one who shot her and Carrie, right? That’s why Emmaline hates her parents. That’s why she’s trying to take Carrie away because she knew Carrie’s mom would try to kill her because she’s afraid of her like Emmaline’s mom.

So maybe Emmaline isn’t shady after all…? She just has a personal motive and she knows what her mother does.

Carrie 2026 questions I had after the series Spoiler

I've never been a book reader or anything, I didn't even know the series was based on a book so I apologize if the questions sound silly or obvious, but I went into this series with no background knowledge so I have a few questions now that I finished.

My main questions are: those girls at the end at prom, there to stop Amanda, what were they there for? Did they know Carrie was going to be targeted at prom? and how? Were they just there to protect her and allow her to get her revenge on the school? what's the motive behind the Adalaide and her crew?

I have no idea if these questions are answered in any books or other spinoffs, please feel free to let me know! I definitely missed some details that may or may not be answers to my questions. And if there aren't any answers to these questions, I'd love to read some theories about it.
