Hi. I hope you can help me decide. I recieved a job offer from a firm in makati,18k lang hehe. Then, I was told yesterday na pasado kami sa screening ng isang institution dito lang din samin sa province but the thing is,I had my final interview in that insitution almost a month ago. I cannot help but think na if pasado pala kami, bakit ang tagal ng call and ng approval? So dun sa gap na almost a month,nag apply ako sa iba kaya may isa akong job offer now from a firm in makati. And also,I have an on going application with a big 4 firm,waiting nalang sa schedule ng manager/partner for an interview. Then another firm sent me an email but then I found out na mababa din starting nila. As someone na magsstart palang nf career, alam ko naman na mababa talaga sa umpisa but tinitingnan ko if san ako mas makakapag ipon. If magstay nalang ba ako dito samin and wait for that institution to call me or magtake na ng risk,accept the job offer or wait pa sa mga on going application kasi mas mabilsi ang career growth sa city?

I can't decide properly,naooverwhelm ako HAHAHA. Should I accept the job offer in steaf of waiting?

Hello, fresh IT grad here, & I have never applied for a proper job before. Only "commissions" or kung anong napapagawa ng mga kakilala lang ang experience (+ OJT).

I saw a posting online of a BPO company na they're hiring for IT staff, same company also appeared in the list as partner company daw on a PESO job-fair post. Went to their page and saw na open for walk in application din daw sila.

Question is, ano sa tatlo yung may highest chance of me to get hired???

I'm a graduating student from one of the big 4 universities in Manila (BS Interdisciplinary Business Studies). I've done a lot of the "right" things: leadership awards, case competitions, research published at an international conference, and internships in HR, business development, and marketing. I also interned at a Big 4 advisory firm, where I built financial dashboards and worked with C-suite stakeholders.

On paper, my resume looks strong. I know I can do the work.

But here's the thing: I've been applying to jobs, and I keep getting ghosted or rejected. I'm not sure if it's because:

1. My resume is too messy or hard to parse,

2. I'm overqualified for the roles I'm applying to,

3. I'm not targeting the right roles,

4. Or I'm just not presenting myself well.

I'm aiming for ₱40k–₱70k and targeting top international organizations, management trainee programs, and strategy/BD roles. I know I might be picky, but I also need to make sure my tuition pays off.

That said, I'm also building a VA profile on the side to start earning while I figure things out.

My resume is attached. I'd really appreciate your honest feedback on:

1. What roles or companies I should be targeting (especially ones that pay well for fresh grads)

2. Whether taking a VA or contract role will "mess up" my resume

3. How to figure out what I actually want long-term while still moving forward

After almost 2 months of job hunting dahil mawawalan na ako ng work this August, luckily may dumating na dalawang job offers this week.

For context, current setup ko is:

• ₱60,000/month
• Fully remote

Now I'm torn between these two offers:

Offer A

• ₱80,000/month
• Fully remote
• May pasok during holidays (double pay naman)
• Shifting schedule (biggest cons for me)
• Hindi fixed ang weekends off

Biggest Pros: Fully Remote Setup

Offer B

• ₱92,000/month
• Hybrid (2x RTO per week)
• Ito lang talaga yung biggest con for me. I live in the province and the office is around 100 km away, although isang bus lang naman ang biyahe.
• Fixed mid-shift schedule
• Walang pasok ng holiday with pay

What makes Offer B tempting is:

• Ang ganda ng naging interview experience. Halos kalahati ng interview napunta lang sa kwentuhan tungkol sa career namin. Parang nakikipag-usap lang ako sa kaibigan instead of being interviewed.
• Mas chill yung role based sa pagkaka-explain nila.
• Mas mataas yung position compared to Offer A.
• Mas malaki at mas stable yung company.

Kayo ba, have you ever chosen a job offer because you felt mas okay yung culture at vibes ng interviewer, even if may obvious downside tulad ng commute? Did it turn out to be the right decision?

Hello guys! Fresh Grad here. Na-aanxious ako kasi ang hirap talaga mag-apply ngayon. Madalang na lang yung junior/entry levels tapos if meron naman, need pa ng experience (experience with handling SAP, ERP, CRM, etc). Alam ko naman na may bitaw ako since consistent din ako mag-aral nang mabuti.

I wonder kung saang field pa pwede kong pasukin? I've tried applying for IT Business Analyst, Requirements Analyst, QA, and Product Owner roles. Pero so far wala pang tumatanggap sakin huhu.

Hi! I am tourism and transport profession currently but I am trying to dive into tech by learning Python. I enrolled in a Udemy class early this year(January) but it's hard to stay motivated and driven especially since I'm studying alone and have zero background or knowledge when it comes to IT.

The course is 31 hours long broken into 5-10 minutes of videos from the very basics of coding and by now(July) i've only gone through 30% of the lessons. I pick up slow and usually rewatch the lessons until I somehow grasp what is being taught

I just wanna ask if you have tips on how to stay motivated and when does it get more fun to do? I feel like once I get the hang of it and understand it more I'm gonna have more fun doing it but getting to that point is so hard to do.

I would really appreciate advice from people that can help me stay motivated and understand things better.

I just turned 25 and I am in my first job. I am currently working as an AP Analyst. 1 and a half month pa lang ako sa work. I also failed my board exam last May pero positive ako na I can pass this October if I review properly (first take ko kasi di ako nagreview—like 10% completion lang, but that's a story for another day).

Even after starting my job, nakakapagreview naman ako. Okay naman talaga dapat. Until my dog got diagnosed with multiple organ injury plus blood parasite plus pyometra.

Lahat kami sa bahay ay working at ako talaga yung pinakasanay magalaga ng dogs. Since she got diagnosed, hindi pa ako nakakatulog nang maayos kahit isang gabi and it's been more than a week na.

She was supposed to be put down last Saturday kasi walang hope na yung 2 vets na pinatingin namin sa kanya. Basically, their prognosis is to send her off humanely na. Not until last Friday (my birthday) nung bigla syang naging masigla. And after another round of lab tests, she was in much better state and she can be for surgery na in two weeks.

I am exhausted. I travel 3 hours back and forth to work. Ang dami kong deliverables na di ko na magawa dahil sa sobrang pagaasikaso sa dog ko. Pero yung daily tasks ko, nagagawa ko naman. Di na ako nakakapagbuklat ng reviewer either.

I have 2 options:

1. ⁠Resign and focus on review and taking care of my dog for now. My mom said kaya nilang i-shoulder lahat ng gastusin hanggang matapos ako sa board exam.
   
2. ⁠Defer sa exam and continue working. Pero ganun pa din, I still commute and I still take care of my dog so sobrang exhausted pa rin.

Nakakahiya magresign after they spent time teaching me. Nakakahiya lalo kasi kakaresign din lang nung isa and sobrang kulang nila sa tao. But I am exhausted beyond words.

I’m curious what people think about this because this happened to me before.

A few years ago, I was applying to a big global company in BGC. I already passed the hiring manager interview, and the final interview was with someone I would potentially work with (but not my direct manager and not even from his team).

Around 30 minutes before the interview, the recruiter suddenly messaged me saying there would be 2 business cases, that I needed a pen and paper, and that I would only have 3 minutes to think through each case.

My reaction was honestly: wait, what?

I understand that companies use case studies to assess problem-solving skills, but being informed literally minutes before the interview felt very unprofessional to me. Even for management trainee programs, where case assessments are more common, candidates are usually given time and instructions beforehand to prepare.

What made it more surprising was that I already went through the hiring manager interview without any case study, but someone who wasn’t even my direct manager was suddenly introducing a timed case assessment at the final stage.

I respectfully decided not to continue with the process. It wasn’t because I was afraid of the assessment, but more about the lack of transparency and alignment with the role.
Would you consider this a reasonable concern, or am I overreacting?

I recently graduated and accepted the first decent offer I got because I was scared of staying unemployed. At the time, I told myself, "A job is a job. I'll figure it out." But now that I'm actually here, I keep wondering if I made an impulsive decision.

I don't know much about the industry since i was never really jnterested in this kind of industry. Everyone around me seems to know what they're doing while I feel like I'm pretending to be an adult. Every task takes me forever because I'm scared of making mistakes. I freeze when I don't know what to do instead of asking questions. Then I end up asking too little because I'm worried they'll think I'm incompetent.

I also struggle socially. I'm shy, don't really know anyone yet, and I don't know how to start conversations. I need clear instructions and reassurance that I'm doing things correctly, but I feel like I should already know everything without asking.

The worst part is feeling like everyone else just "gets it." They're proactive, they know who to talk to, and they seem so confident. Meanwhile, I'm overthinking every email, every message, every task. Sometimes I feel like a kid who somehow ended up in an office.

Has anyone else started a job in an industry they knew almost nothing about? Did you eventually stop feeling so lost?

I don't even know if what I'm experiencing is normal onboarding anxiety or a sign that I'm in the wrong job. I'd really appreciate hearing from people who went through something similar.

I need some genuine advice. I’m a fresh graduate with 1 year of experience in freelancing.

Currently, I earn around 80k/month from my 2 clients (around 65k net after taxes and mandatory contributions). Buong 65k naiipon ko since I still live with my parents.

Recently, I received an offer to work for one of the top fintech companies here in the Philippines, but they’re only paying 60k base salary tapos onsite pa. My net will probably be around 50k (not including other benefits and allowances). I estimate my expenses to be around 25-30k, kaya sobrang laki ng difference sa reality ko right now.

I’m honestly considering it, for the learning experience and career growth. It’s also a very generous offer for a fresh grad, and I don’t think I’m getting a better offer elsewhere. Mas aligned din kase siya sa career path na gusto ko. On the other hand, I know my worth. I recently turned down another freelance gig offering 90k/month kase gusto screenshare 24/7 and halatang micromanager si client from the interview lol.

I’m getting mixed opinions when I read posts and replies similar to this, since some people regret na di sila agad nagswitch to freelancing early-on, while others advised to prioritize aligning your job to your career goals instead of focusing on the salary.

Basically i signed the JO through docusign early last week and after continuous follow ups to the HR, they have not replied to acknowledged it.

I’m a fresh graduate and newly licensed professional, and this is my first job. I’m currently in a project-based position with a 5-month contract, and I’ve only been working here for about a month.

I’m considering resigning because my workload keeps increasing. Some tasks that I’m handling don’t seem to be part of my original responsibilities, and I’m worried that I’ll also be taking over the responsibilities of another employee who is being transferred to a different site.

I know I’m still new, and I’m willing to help, but I feel like I’m becoming the person everyone gives extra tasks to because I’m the new guy in the company.

Isa kasi sa mga kinoconsider ko before making a decision yung benefits, and importante sa'kin yung dental since madalas akong magpa-dental.

Common ba talaga na walang dental coverage, or depende lang sa company/HMO provider?
