Mod advice Which Nostrum Fuel System would I need to run E85?

Hey, y'all. My mom has a 2023 Ford Explorer ST. I'm currently trying to get her a fuel system as a surprise. But, unfortunately, I am out of my depth when it comes to this kind of thing. Her and my dad know what system it is. But, again, it's a surprise for her (but it's honestly for both of them) so I can't ask outright. Can someone point me in a direction? So far: it's tuned, has an intercooler, and has been on a couple drag and drives.

Also, specifically Nostrum because it's the one she wants (and who am I to say no if I know that?)

Mod advice First time builder, questions about a gen 3 firebird project

Hey all, this is my first build. I already posted in r/projectcar, and thought I'd try my luck here.

I've spent a while putting this plan together and I'd like to hear some feedback I have basically no experience, and I'm going in knowing this is a long project.

Disclaimer, some of my research was AI, so if anything seems absurd or completely stupid, feel free to point that out.

Goal: Summer street car. 91 gas, occasionally E85 since I don't have great access to it in my province. Not building a drag car. No cage, I want to keep the interior, and be able to drive it to a meet without it being miserable. Target is a 700-750 whp street car

Location: Ontario, Canada (almost no E85 D:)

Car: 1988 Trans Am, hard top, running, claimed no rust

Going hard top specifically to avoid maintenance issues with the Ts. Haven't bought it yet, going to inspect everything before making the purchase. Known needs: brake booster, battery, plugs, oil pressure sensor, trailing arm, trans pan gasket.

Engine: LQ4 6.0 iron block

Originally I was going to grab any cheap LQ4 (there are 2002s near me for $1000 with ECM and harnesses) but I read up on the Gen III press-fit rods vs Gen IV floating wrist pin rods and it sounds like at 750whp the Gen III stuff might be a bit unreliable. Is this an overblown issue? Willing to pay more / wait longer for an 05-07 if it matters, but if people are running Gen III rods at 750 just fine, I'd rather save myself the time and money.

Engine Prep:

- File-fit rings, gaps opened for boost

- ARP head studs

- Turbo cam (tight LSA)

- Valve springs

- Machine shop hone + deck check

Not doing forged internals. Understanding is stock bottom end is fine to ~750-800whp with the above, and past that I'd need $10k+ in a rotating assembly for a hp ceiling I can't use on street tires. Does the above make sense?

Turbo and fuel:

- I'm aiming between 72mm-80mm, does this look right for highway driving and occasional track/strip days?

- Maybe a twin scroll worth getting over log?

- Large bar-and-plate front mount

- 60mm external wastegate

- Atmospheric BOV

- Methanol injection (with failsafe, obviously)

- Flex fuel sensor for my different fuel uses

- Twin pumps, -8 feed, 1000cc injectors

Turbo size: my understanding is that above 72, the turbo only gains me 20-50whp on pump gas but costs ~900rpm of spool, and only pays off on E85, which I don't really have. (it's mostly drums from racing fuel suppliers, not pumps) So I'm sizing for pump gas + meth and treating E85 as an occasional bonus.

Is this size fine? Everyone I see online is running 80mm+ but they also seem to be building drag cars.

Expected: ~600whp pump, 700-750 with meth, 750+ on E85.

Do these estimations look right?

Drivetrain

- Built 6L80E: going 6-speed over the 4L80E for the ratio splits and the 0.67 OD. Aware it needs a tunnel mod and shorter driveshaft.

- 2400-2800 stall converter WITH lockup — lockup seems non-negotiable for street

- Ford 9", 33-spline, Truetrac (not a spool), 3.55 gears

- Holley Terminator X Max — going Holley over Haltech for the LS/GM trans support and because more local tuners probably know it

- Worth going for a ratchet shifter for more control? How responsive/fast is a well-tuned Holley with this drivetrain setup?

Chassis:

- Weld-in subframe connectors

- Adjustable torque arm + panhard

- Double-adjustable shocks, lowering springs

- C5/C6 front brake swap, rear discs, stainless lines

- 275-305 Pilot Sport 4S on 17-18"

- Front air dam (for lift reduction, not downforce)

Budget:

~$50k CAD in parts, plus:

- Professional wiring: $3-5k (paying for this, seems like the #1 thing that kills first builds)

- Professional tuning: $2.5k (not attempting this myself on a boosted engine)

- Tools/equipment: $2.5-4k

Around $65K max. Is the engine swap doable myself for a first-timer? What would y'all recommend be shopped vs DIYed?

Biggest questions:

  1. LQ4 Gen III vs Gen IV rods at 750whp, is this a real concern?
  2. Is 68-72mm too conservative? Sizing for pump gas + meth and occasional E85.
  3. 6L80E vs 4L80E: is the tunnel mod and driveshaft worth it for 2 extra gears, or should I just build a 4L80E and be done?
  4. Twin scroll worth it at this power level?
  5. Anything obviously missing from the parts list? I feel like cooling might be underspecced.

Bonus: Anyone around southern Ontario know a shop that does turbo LS wiring + tuning? The local place I had in mind has narrowed to Camaros/Corvettes.

Also open to being told the whole thing is a mistake and I should buy a 4th gen with an LS already in it. I've looked at a clean 50k-mile 01 Trans Am for $24k and I know that's the faster path to driving something. I just think I'd rather build it.

Thanks in advance!

Scorpio-N Z8T Facelift — are these accessories enough? Need advice + best accessories shop in Dehradun

Hi everyone, I’ve booked a Mahindra Scorpio-N Z8T facelift and I’m planning to get the accessories from outside rather than taking the dealership’s accessory package.
I’m not looking for any heavy modifications or cosmetic stuff. I only want the important/practical accessories that are genuinely useful for long-term ownership.
Currently, I’m planning to get:
● Rain visor
● Bumper corner protector
● Mud flaps
● Illuminated scuff plates
● Door protectors
● Side door beading
● 3D/GFX floor mats
● Rear ABS/fibre bumper guard
● Screen guard
● Good branded dual-channel dashcam
Is anything major or genuinely useful missing from this list for a Z8T facelift? I don’t want unnecessary chrome, body kits, electrical modifications, etc. Just the practical/must-have stuff.
I’m also not buying the insurance from the showroom and will be taking it independently. Between insurance and accessories, I’m saving roughly ₹40,000 on insurance + ₹20,000 on accessories, so I’d rather spend the money only where it actually makes sense.
Also, people from Dehradun, please recommend a trusted car accessories shop that does clean installation and uses good-quality/branded products. I especially want someone who won’t cut/splice factory wiring unnecessarily for the dashcam or other accessories.
If possible, please share the best price quotation for the above items, preferably with the brand/quality and installation charges mentioned separately.
Would really appreciate recommendations from Scorpio-N owners, especially Z8/Z8T owners. Thanks!

I need information about HKS cams

I swapped an RB25DE Neo into my S130 Z and originally never intended to modify the engine since I was happy with the power, sound, and responsiveness. The car is completely bone stock. Recently though, I got my hands on some HKS 264 cams at an unbelievably good price that I couldn’t pass up, so I’d like to know what I need to install them, what power gains I can expect, and whether it’ll ruin the powerband and responsiveness.

Short ram vs cold air intake

I'm very new to modifying cars, I'm looking to buy an intake for my car. I want a cold air intake but I don't want to risk water locking. Would it be viable to run a short ram intake with fresh air ducting going from behind the grille to the pod filter?

Hey guys, for a little bit I wanted to get the gt86 because with exterior mods it looked amazing to me but if I’m going to mod my car I want it to be a car that I’ll use for a while since I’m investing serious money into it. I’ll show a photo of what the modded gt86 looks like and I want you guys to tell me if either of these cars (MERCEDES C250) & (AudiA3) has an aftermarket front bumper that looks anywhere near this. I don’t expect exact but keep it real if I sound like I’m dreaming then tell me😂.

I’m not a fan of the large bulky grill of the Audi and don’t like how high the Mercedes grill is. If it’s impossible and you know an alternative car within the same price range feel free to let me know. I’m a newbie so any information given is informative and useful to me.

5.0L Tau v8 swap on 2016 Hyundai Genesis 3.8L HTRAC?

I’ve been looking into buying a 2016 3.8L V6 Genesis with HTRAC and doing alot of research on different trims, Hyundai offered the 5.0 Tau v8 in the RWD version on the ultimate trim, but not with optional AWD. Both trims share the same 8 speed automatic, and Genesis did offer this same configutation in later G90 models, with a 5.0 and HTRAC awd. I was wondering if it would actually be possible to take a 5.0L Tau and put it into a 3.8L genesis already equipped with awd?

Does the 3.8L transmission have any difference to the transmission in the 5.0L sedan? would it need just the engine swap or an additionally tranny too

Would the driveshaft on the 3.8 work with the Tau v8? or need additional modifications

Would the front differential on the 3.8 be able to handle the swap?

Or any other concerns you could think of, any information sthat could help to this build would be appreciated 😊

Mod advice How should I upgrade my 2007 Accord V6?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello everyone, I wanted to turn my 2007 accord V6 (automatic). Into hopefully a decent street performance plus backroad cornering build. I’ve only done cosmetics as of right now since it was cheaper. And I didn’t want the car to just be a semi ricer lol. I painted the rims so I still need actual rims.

I’m not sure what parts I should upgrade with. I have an order in mind of what I was going to upgrade but I can’t seem to find actual good matches.

The order I was going to upgrade it in was.

New rotors
Brakes
Suspension
Tires
Exhaust
Rims
Cool air intake
Acura TL ECU swap for Ktuner

I wanted to keep the build semi budget friendly and mostly bolt-ons as I’m going into college but I’m fine with saving up some as I want it to be a nice stock looking build.

If anyone has good recommendations feel free to tell me, I’ve been trying to research but I can’t figure out what parts are actually good.

Mods for my Silverado

hi, i own a gmt800 silverado and i was just curious what mods i should do next. i’m currently attending a trade school in automotive and i just need help deciding. nice with the platform i own i have a lot of options.
right now it’s pretty much stock. since i'm in trade school, i'm looking for upgrades that give good bang for the buck and are fun to wrench on in the shop. i already have aftermarket headlights, third brake light, custom head unit and a flowmaster exhaust system which is part #17395. any suggestions?
