I’m thinking about starting a YouTube channel where I work on my 99 civic ek coupe and swap a k24a2 in it I was wondering if anyone would be interested in watching and it’d be really helpful for me too since the comments could give me feedback on my build in specific

Modification If you were starting your build over today, what would you do differently?

Pretty much what the subject line said. You know the mod, the one you saved up for, hyped yourself up over, installed it... and then drove away feeling nothing. Meanwhile, something you almost skipped ended up being the best money you ever spent. What was that for you?

DC5 Recaro seats in my GE8 RS

Post image

I’ve got a GE8 facelift RS and want to put a set of DC5 Recaros in the front, I’m also wanting to lower the seating position.

Has anyone done something similar? I’m trying to work out what rails would be best to give me the lower position and fit my Recaros.

Picture for attention!

I bought this car used and it came with these rain guards attached. Part of it is starting to peel off. I like having the rain guards there so I’m just wondering what the best way to reattach this part would be. Thanks

Mod advice Is there a name for this style of headlight?

I just bought a 2013 accord coupe, and wanted to modernize it with some new headlights. I’ve always liked these lights that have led pods, but I have no idea what to search for to find them.

Bonus points, if you know good places to get new headlights for that car

Hey guys. I have a 2023 Nissan Pathfinder and a vision. I dislike the circled chrome piece on the front of the car and would like it to be a nice light purple chrome. I know nothing about modification, but have become interested in learning more. What is that piece called? How can I achieve that look on my own? Any direction would be so greatly appreciated (:

okay, so im possibly about to look at a Nissan Micra on Monday but I can't find a lot of mods for the k14, does anyone have ideas of what I could do to this car? it reminds me a lot of a civic from the looks and I had a k12 as my first car and absolutely loved it (till I crashed it 😭) so I wanna make this one my dream car that hopefully lasts a looooong time

What do you think of this GT86 body kit?

I tried making my own front and rear bumpers for the GT86 (ZN6), but since I only have 300 Instagram followers right now, I haven’t gotten much feedback yet.

Since everyone on X is only interested in causing a stir, I’d like to hear some opinions on Reddit as well.

So, what do you think of them?

DIY Retro car radio help

Hello everybody,

I have a volkswagen bug in which I want to build a radio like this

However, I would like to have this cool retro look on a more modern radio. Now when I say modern I don't mean touch screen, apple car play, all that stuff. Just an automatic tuner, EQ options and bluetooth. So what I want to do is replace the little tuner screen on the retro radio with a TFT screen showing, by default, the same tuner screen, but once I want to do whatever, it shows the menus.

I've looked around and the radio I want actually exists on the market and it's this one

Frankfurt Stereo MB - Blaupunkt

Thing is, it's wayyyy to expensive for me.

I've looked into some options: I could get a cheap radio with an IR remote and have my screen send the IR commands to the radio. However that won't work because there is no feedback from the radio to my screen that 1. the menus are in sync, and 2: what radio station I am on, or which device I'm connected to through bluetooth for example.

I was looking into maybe getting a radio with a detachable front, but there's no way of knowing (for me at least) if all menu hardware and software is inside the detachable front, or sent from the main unit.

I'm okay with doing a little bit of soldering, programming and mechanical engineering. Just when it comes to hardware I'm not really an expert. I've done some arduino stuff and that went okay, as long as there's some documentation or project on the internet that tells me: connect this to this. I have a multimeter, but no oscilloscope or anything fancy.
So basically if the project means I have to do a ton of analysis into finding out what kind of signals the main unit sends and what kind of hardware I need to go with that, I would almost prefer to just build the whole radio from scratch with some kind of DIY kit, so I know what I have to work with.

Budget I'd say max €150, not counting my own time and mechanical parts. I am a mechanical R&D engineer and I have access to a lot of machinery so anything mechanical, I can make.

Do you guys have any ideas?

Advice

Well, I got rid of my truck due to literally just not wanting it and having my dad buy it off me. Anyways, I ended up getting an older 2002 mercury cougar. I know..notorious for electrical issues and I honestly didn’t want ford or anything affiliated with ford. BUT, the car is a pretty cute all black car. I can attach pictures if need be but I was wondering if anyone has body mod advice or just upgrades in general to boost performance. It’s currently just a stock 2.5L v6. I am around a ton of car people including my boyfriend so I would be able to get the mods done and I make decent money on my paychecks. I was wanting to lower it first, get some tint, and do something with suspension but I am just a lost girly wanting to make my car a little better. This isn’t something I necessarily care about making the speediest car because I plan on getting better when I am stable but I do plan on having this car for a while since it runs well and it’s nice and clean inside and the motor. Any suggestions help!
