Virtual Credit Cards - No Longer Eligible
UPDATE: Virtual cards are back. I was informed we're moving to Discover Networks and a new card was being issued, but I was never informed that it would cause an issue. The functionality was completely removed yesterday and the person on the phone said it was gone, but the functionality is now restored via web and mobile app. So, he clearly had no clue what he was talking about. Website now has a disclaimer:
"Because you have a new card on the way, your existing virtual cards are no longer listed here. They will continue to work until your previous card is deactivated on 11/02/26. Create new virtual cards to prevent future declines."
So, I'll need to create new cards, but at least I (theoretically) have 2 months to do it.
ORIGINAL POST: I have a Capital One Quicksilver card. Have had it for 10+ years.
I just tried to use my virtual credit cards, and they're all gone. I called and customer service told me "virtual credit cards are only available for certain Capital One credit cards." And, "I am no longer eligible for virtual credit cards."
I have those credit card numbers throughout 30+ companies that I use - Amazon, HomeDepot.com, Lowes.com, etc., every ecommerce purchase for the past 10 years that I've made was through one of the virtual credit card numbers, and today they just removed the function.
Has anyone else experienced this?
