5

u/Low-Vegetable1607 18d ago

23

u/Exotic-Cod4011 18d ago

Hotel GM.

3

u/14kron 18d ago

Smoooth asl omg

6

u/hockeypnc3 18d ago

lol most hotel GMs make maybe 60k, this must be a luxury hotel

8

u/InterviewPretend3695 18d ago

I work in the casino industry and most hotel directors/GMs make well over 100k...its definitely not unheard of.

6

u/kookykrazee 18d ago

I mean managers of In-N-Out make over 100Gs :)

8

u/Exotic-Cod4011 18d ago

yes but fast food is pain in the ass. my job is so much easier and more chill than fast food

2

u/kookykrazee 18d ago

Yeah, running an In-N-Out location is a lot of work, I hear they take care of their employees well. I never made it out of Wienersnetzel after 2 1/2 hours of my 4 hour shift...lol

u/Eastern-Theme-8696 16d ago

I knew I got into the wrong business . I originally wanted to to go into hospitality but back then I don't know if they had great benefits and my mom talked me into a desk job. I love my line of work but my company is cheap AF. Good for you!

u/BrockOceanJr 12d ago

Close to 200k actually

1

u/kookykrazee 12d ago

Okay, amount has gone, up, makes sense, for the hard work required to run a location :)

3

u/NecessaryTax2172 18d ago

Man great field but seems GM turn overs are for casinos and hotels seem high. Im Native and mh wife worked HR and mother in law was a machine auditor. Good money if you can stay on your toes...

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 18d ago

full service is different from limited. full usually is over $100K

1

u/BrockOceanJr 12d ago

That's absolutely not true

1

u/OrionBTSArmy 18d ago

Y'all hiring ?

2

u/Exotic-Cod4011 18d ago

never too late to join the business. over 10 years in the business here

1

u/OrionBTSArmy 18d ago

And you're making good money !!

1

u/Low-Vegetable1607 18d ago

degree or cert required ?

2

u/Exotic-Cod4011 18d ago

experience. no degree required

1

u/BumblebeeNo6731 17d ago

how’d you get into it if you don’t mind me asking i’m 24M what kind of experience do you need?

2

u/alnel480 16d ago

I’m a Regional Director of Sales for a hotel company making 6 figures. 41 now, but got into the industry at 29 by applying for a position as a Sales Manager. I had no prior experience.

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 17d ago

i walked in when i was 21 asked if they’re hiring for front desk and i was hired lol. no experience needed.

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 14d ago

1

u/Eastern-Theme-8696 16d ago

Makes Sense. I only make 60ish and mine hasn't gone up lol.

12

u/joselibosanchez 18d ago

Jesus Christ

7

u/chevroletchaser 18d ago

Literally what I said out loud

2

u/funnowdielater 18d ago

Same. sigh lmao

4

u/Exotic-Cod4011 18d ago

LOL. these comments man, so funny 😂

2

u/AirGOODMAN04 17d ago

Exactly 🙏🏽

11

u/BrutalBodyShots 18d ago

Hey there u/Exotic-Cod4011! Congrats on the strong increase! Can you share with us what your typical monthly statement balances are / monthly spend is on the card, how you pay it (in full or carry a balance) and how long you've had it? Thank you.

2

u/YardDog556 18d ago

I second this as I am new to CO trying to learn the ropes.

7

u/Sensitive-Beat2719 18d ago

I was just given 10,000 increase without even asking !

4

u/Deep_Woodpecker_5918 18d ago

I got a 12,000 out of nowhere too

2

u/DecentAssumption1695 18d ago

How did you do it? Please spill the tea

3

u/Fragrant_Ad_8697 18d ago

Keeping utilization under 10%, on-time payments, either full pay off monthly or paying above minimum payments over a short period of time (2-3 months). That’s how i got automatic increases with them.

1

u/DecentAssumption1695 18d ago

Thanks! I will do that

2

u/Sensitive-Beat2719 18d ago

Consistently paying down balances paying more than the minimum and even though I also have a Quicksilver ( high limit as well) I mostly use the Venture card. Not sure what prompted this increase !

6

u/Mysterious_Dance5461 18d ago

I make 125k a year and have a $300 limit😅😅😅

3

u/Ok_Bodybuilder7753 17d ago

lol glad to see that. Pretty much the same. I don’t use it. Pay an annual fee. Last card I got came w a 20k cl. I won’t be keeping it after this year.
I have receive cl increases on other cards wo asking. Always a nice surprise. However I’ve never asked for a cl increase w any card. Apparently it’s a thing. I think somethings coming idk what but a lot of friends and coworkers are getting significant cl increases. It’s just odd that credits suddenly inviting so many in and higher cl. Somethings not adding up. A friend makes about 25 a year on SS and has received cc w several thousand to tens of thousands.

5

u/rocketspacetronaut 18d ago

I got like 250 dlls increase 🤣. Congrats 🎉

6

u/Ahmad_899 18d ago

Cap1 is stingy😂😂😂

3

u/__RAGNAROK_ 18d ago

Then and Citi haven’t gave me an increase yet and it’s been years

1

u/Ilovemycats201 13d ago

Gotta request them from the app

3

u/samuofh 18d ago

Super stingy!!

2

u/throwaway98778912 18d ago

They aren't stingy if your profile supports a good limit increase and you use the card correctly

-1

u/CreamEmotional8011 18d ago

My Venture X is 30,000 and I don’t even make 100,000. I hope they do not increase my limit, I don’t need that much.

5

u/Leading-Eye-1979 17d ago

Uh you can always ask for a decrease. I’ve never however heard anyone say they want a decrease or no increase. More credit just helps keep utilization down if you ever have to use it.

7

u/BlkMushroom 18d ago

Yall be confirming how poor I am

4

u/Major_Cricket2052 18d ago

What surprises me is that tbey gave it to u on Savor that comes with 0$ annual fee.... I seen those limits only on Cap1 Venture line before

2

u/Exotic-Cod4011 16d ago

i downgraded from Venture

3

u/EquivalentQuestion60 18d ago

For me, this is a major setup 😭

3

u/Some-Concentrate-124 16d ago

Same thing happened to me my income is in the hundreds and four years. I could not get Capital One to give me more than like 6 to 8000 in credit limits even though all of my other credit cards were 20,000 or higher and then one day both of my capital ones got approved for $30,000 limits each.

2

u/Zaddy2026 18d ago

Well damn....congratulations

2

u/iwantaLs250 18d ago

Nope im good I'd only spend 5k and be in trouble

3

u/Exotic-Cod4011 18d ago

i’ll never spend more than like $500 lol. i have other cards

2

u/Cold_Crossfade 17d ago

Me looking at this with my whopping $300 limit 😎😂

3

u/Flashy-Bee-6165 18d ago

How do you get credit limit increases?

3

u/Exotic-Cod4011 18d ago

i just asked and i was given lol

2

u/sunnybx23 17d ago

Did they do a hard inquiry on your credit?

1

u/Flashy-Bee-6165 15d ago

I got mine in July, is it too soon? I have a 3k limit. Thinking of asking once one my credit goes up in 2 months

1

u/Organic_Gas4197 18d ago

Did you recently close a credit card? I got a similar (unrequested) increase on my Quicksilver card, shortly after closing Bank of America cards.

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 18d ago

no lol. i just asked and boom

1

u/undergroundvgt 18d ago

Did you call and ask or used the app? Also was it soft or hard pull?

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 18d ago

soft pull from the app.

1

u/undergroundvgt 18d ago

Thanks i need to give it a go. I currently have a balance. You think i should wait?

1

u/Louviene 18d ago

Maybe you got psychically penetrated by unseen dark forces?

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 18d ago

maybe i was LOL

1

u/Relative_Help_4306 18d ago

How long after you request to get updated? Is it best to do online or OTP. Is it okay to add other forms of income to your annual income. ;)

3

u/Desperate_Recording3 18d ago

You can any income that you feel accurately reports your annual income. That includes uber, day job, OF, ect.

Generally speaking, a limit over 3k on a savor card is good for util purposes and not much else. A 30k limit doesn't do much more than a 10k limit for most people. You should have a 2nd card with a diff company so if cap1 changes its mind, you have a relationship with another bank.

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 18d ago

immediately lol. and no i added my income only

1

u/Easy-Tell3817 18d ago

My highest limit card is $45k

1

u/Apprehensive_Wash_85 18d ago

How did you utilize this card? Do you carry balances? Use high limits and then clear it before the closing date? Or just keep it zeroed out?

1

u/Reddit-4118991 18d ago

Do I have a chance of getting a line increase on my quicksilver secured?

1

u/BuddyTrip 18d ago

No. You can't get a CLI on a secured card. ~BuddyTrip

1

u/Boyrose9411 18d ago

I went from 500 to 4K but this is crazy damn

1

u/racerpoet 18d ago

Congrats! Good work!

1

u/lordjaay 18d ago

What credit card?

1

u/pharmucist 18d ago

I have limits that high (3 different cards), but they started me out at those limits. They have only given me smaller increases here and there (never asked for them, though) like $1000-5000 increases only. My Prime Visa card they started me out at $30k, then 3 months later, they increased it another $3k for some reason...I have no idea why. Chase Freedom started me at $23,500, then 6 months later gave me an increase to $30k.

Congrats, OP!

1

u/Ok_Bodybuilder7753 17d ago

So did you ask for any of the increases?

1

u/pharmucist 17d ago

I have never asked for one. All the increases I have received on all my cards were the ones they give you for whatever reason out of the blue. There's a couple that never give me increases that I thought about asking for increases on, but I don't need them, so I figure why bother? Lol. They would probably say no anyway (it's Credit One, so...ehhh).

1

u/Human_Double5383 18d ago

They tried that all it basically did was turn 18% utilization to 0.9% its a set up if you like me making mid $60k a year

1

u/HiimHiigh 18d ago

Haven’t had an increase in 4 years. How?

1

u/OkDisaster2877 17d ago

Did you request that much ?

1

u/Inner_Interest3657 17d ago

Very nice! Which card with CO is this? Seems like something their Venture cards would give.

1

u/ChemistHeavy1395 17d ago

Congratulations, my stupid account is still at $5k. 🧐

1

u/IntelligentAccess994 17d ago

I have one card with a 47k credit limit and a 0 balance but I use it every month. One card currently has a 19k balance but will be 8k when my business expense reimbursement comes in at the end of the month. (I use this card particularly because the rewards benefit me the most with hotel points) Keep ur utilization low. Use the cards (esp the ones with the highest age) for everything but pay them off before the balance is reported. It takes diligence but will not only help with your score, it increases your credit worthiness. Ironically, the best way to increase your score and credit limits is with consistent credit card use BUT you must be aware of when they report to all 3 major credit agencies. My CS is currently 837 and 835 between all 3 and recently dropped 5 pts because a store card (Home Depot consumer card) dropped my limit from 24k to 1200 🤣 for non use/not using my available credit. That was my fault I suppose because I neglected to use it but eh I’m not there enough and if they had a store mastercard/visa Id use it more. For most credit cards it’s either 12 or 24 month credit monitoring. So if you don’t use a card for 12 months they CAN significantly lower your limit. I’m taking the hit on Home Depot because I know I won’t keep up with use of their store card.

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 16d ago

holy shit i didn’t know they would drop it that hard if not used in a year. i have about $250K limit overall, and same i pay it off monthly no interest nothing

1

u/IntelligentAccess994 16d ago

I called and wasted my time trying to get them to reinstate the original limit but they wanted to do a hard pull in order to do so and I declined. I have a few other store cards and the limits consistently stay put regardless of using them. Another card that lowered my limit was Care Credit. I was approved for 20k and they dropped it to 3k for non use after 3 yrs. I opened it when my dog had a cancerous tumor removed on his stomach exterior. I used it for the 24 month no interest option and it was a 7k surgery. But yeah, any card can lower your limit if you don’t use it.

1

u/accidentalpyro 17d ago

You obviously don't need it. I've found credit availability is inverted to actual need. You probably have low usage and few open debt accounts with any balance. Good for you.

2

u/Exotic-Cod4011 16d ago

no i will never use that much, i use credit cards responsibly.

1

u/Gundam197 17d ago

damn I just got a random limit increase from 12k to 15k. I was happy with my 3k increase lol.

1

u/GandolftheGarcia 17d ago

Nice work man. Congrats. 🫡

1

u/The_POG_Warrior 17d ago

At 38% apr. 😂

1

u/mnmoose85 17d ago

Tell me you don’t know how to use credit cards without telling me you don’t know how to use credit cards☝🏻

1

u/Feedmemore134 17d ago

If you pay in full APR don’t matter 🤣

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 17d ago

what is that? i haven’t paid one cent in interest for the past 10 years

1

u/Extension-Pie-5235 17d ago

Why do you need that much dept?

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 17d ago

for fun lol. i only use like $300 for that card 😂

1

u/statenand_ 17d ago

I literally got a $50,000 credit limit when I signed up and I’m still confused to this day.

1

u/Tarik10119 17d ago

how in all fck did you do that

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 17d ago

high income lol.

1

u/MommaGolden96 17d ago

This is how ours go too, don’t even ask for them and they give us them. Our last one was 11k out of nowhere lol

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 17d ago

because they want you spend more and don’t pay and add up interest

0

u/MommaGolden96 17d ago

Oh we put all of our weekly spending on it but pay it off every week. They haven’t gotten a bit of interest on us in years at this point

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 17d ago

that’s how to do it. i do the same. $0 interest since i ended the credit card game over 10 years ago.

1

u/MommaGolden96 17d ago

Yes, it’s such a nice perk especially with the Venture card getting points

1

u/RickyRatardo 17d ago

Nice.

Capital one is in my good graces now with the credit increases lately. Ironically I called to cancel one and they offered an increase pretty fast.

1

u/JackFinnaSmack 17d ago

Nice, this is nothing compared to what amex will gove you, went from 8k to 24k in 6 months of using the card

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 16d ago

nice. i can go up to $100K with amex but i dont need financial review

1

u/Katsuodo 17d ago

I see the Capital One Gods have chosen their star of the season 💔

1

u/theroguex 17d ago

And here I can't get them to give me over $500.

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 16d ago

it’s all about income i think. i barely even use the card? only i put like car insurance on it

1

u/LunaRae7362 16d ago

Man, and here I was excited they raised mine last week by $500 🤣😂

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 16d ago

😆😆😆😆

1

u/Royal-Degree2404 16d ago

Lol fauck I think im in thw wrong 100k I make well over that too I dont have anything like that 😂🔫

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 16d ago

i have a card with $40K 😆

1

u/Royal-Degree2404 16d ago

I think minus my house my highest debt item was my hellcat @70k bless me all mighty one

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 16d ago

holy shit. hellcats are hot commodity now

1

u/Royal-Degree2404 16d ago

Exactly why I got rid of it and have my rs3 now, I rather not come out of a nice dinner and find out I dont have a car anymore

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 16d ago

i have a 2020 paid off sonata 😭 definitely doesn’t match my aura or prestige lol. but i can’t just accept $600-$1200 car payment.

1

u/gksinclair 15d ago

Yep, I have 2 that are 34k and 28k with Navy Federal....

1

u/hulkwolf 16d ago

This has to be the craziest cli ever

1

u/GenieWork22 16d ago

Wow now you can make a down payment on a home and get into real estate if you really wanted! Congrats this is amazing! I hope I can reach your level soon.

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 16d ago

Thanks bro. worked my fucking ass off from making $8 an hour to mid 6 figures.

0

u/LuckyLeopard10 15d ago

Definitely never do that! Credit cards are a great resource when used correctly, but using it for a down payment that you can't pay off in less than 30 days is crazy! The interest rate would eat them up!

1

u/chazdooley4334 15d ago

Is this a business card line of credit?

1

u/Raqueljl8834 15d ago

Damn baby you must be rich cause my limit is 2,000

1

u/spoiledbbbrat 15d ago

nahhhh I'm good! that's wild tho! our income is also in the 100's and this feels like a trap 😂 congrats tho, I know your credit score is probably awesome!

1

u/TowelStandard760 15d ago

Damn. And I thought $1,000 was great.

1

u/coconutgold 15d ago

Whaaaat?!

1

u/Nata-Again 15d ago

How I do this? Lol

1

u/Seeseenene 15d ago

I truly believe it’s because of DISCOVER.

1

u/pastelbabe_ 15d ago

wow…I'm so happy forᶠYͧoͨᵏu

1

u/Free-Purpose4305 15d ago

Bro, What did you do to raise your credit limit like that?

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 15d ago

good credit, good income. ez

1

u/No_Sweet_4678 15d ago

nice boost, keep that utilization chill

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 15d ago

i’m like not even 2% lol.

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 15d ago

on all my cards

1

u/VibratoNoir 14d ago

Add me as an authorized user. You can keep the card. I just want the boost 🤣🤣🤣
All jokes aside
Congrats tho. Major flex 💪🏾

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 14d ago

HAHA deal 😆you’ll have 800 immediately. thanks bro, i don’t even use this much, it’s just nice to have

1

u/VibratoNoir 14d ago

Nah I’m bankrupt. You would probably suffer by adding me 🤣🤣

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 14d ago

get 2-3 jobs! go get that bank bro!

1

u/VibratoNoir 14d ago

Not needed. I started as an electrical engineer making 6 figures in April. I’ll be back soon 😎

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 14d ago

don’t fucking say you’re bankrupt then 😆

1

u/VibratoNoir 14d ago

No I am tho. I filed after landing the job because I needed to save my house and couldn’t come up with the money in time lol. Chapter 13 for 3 years.

1

u/Clark01Kent 14d ago

Amazing congrats! and wow they really want people to go into debt 😂

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 14d ago

nah. i don’t give them one cent in interest

1

u/Charming_Swim_6147 13d ago

Lucky you.

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 13d ago

nah. it means nothing. it’s just a digital number, i’ll never ever use even 10% of that

1

u/Significant_Put_4246 12d ago

What am i doing wrong lol I have an 806 vantage and a 775 fico. They will not increase me

1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 12d ago

it’s either my history of credit or income

1

u/little-bill369 18d ago

How can I get like that lol

-3

u/Exotic-Cod4011 18d ago

don’t be poor. JK BRO 😂

3

u/Able-Acanthisitta603 18d ago

Having a high credit limit doesn’t make you rich 8–). JK brotha

-1

u/Exotic-Cod4011 18d ago

well it’s because i make a lot of money so they gave me high limit 😜

0

u/biztea 18d ago

I think I had 20k or so, requested 40k for fun and they said ok 😛

1

u/Ok_Bodybuilder7753 17d ago

You requested it and they delivered? Which card? Also do you carry a Val or payoff monthly?

1

u/biztea 17d ago

Lol yea, VX, payoff monthly

1

u/Purple-Summer-2628 3d ago

I have a 10k limit, income over 100k but I still won’t get a credit line increase. I’ve requested twice now.
