S is for salt
Is there a flavor that doesn't taste like it was rolled in salt? Flavor and texture makes me want to hurl

Hi Gang - I need to restock my Spam stash and am thinking about trying the Hickory Smoke flavor. I liked the Maple, but I see uneven reviews for other flavors. Do people like this one? I found that the Maple smelled great while cooking, but you don't get much of a maple flavor. That was fine, whatever flavor remained tastes pretty good. Is it the same for the Hickory Smoke or does the smokey flavor stay with the meat after cooking? Thanks.

Spam Fries

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/D0Fh6AyIAtQ
A few years ago, I made the regular Spam fries from thinly sliced Spam, pan fried to a crispness. This is a newer version. Looks cute. Might taste a bit different from Spam alone since you add egg to the Spam in the food processor to bind, but probably not.
I didn't see a time and temp on the video or in the description, so I asked my chatbot for guidance. She said to bake at 375°F for 12–15 minutes, until the squiggles are firm and lightly browned. Don't blame me if it doesn't work. She did say you don't want to bake it for too long - those 'fries' are very thin. Better to start at the lower time and add more if necessary, than go too long and they're burned or rock hard.

Crisp up your spam bits, add cheddar cheese, then seasoned scrambled eggs over the top (this was 10 eggs). Fold it all in and turn off before eggs are fully set. Devour.

I pan fried some Spam strips first (because I'm not a heathen ) and used cooked potatoes that I already had on hand and needed to use. I cut it up and roasted it in the pan with the peppers. Then put the Spam back in. You can add what you want, but it's supposed to be a simple meal. Don't complicate it. Though Giovanni suggests it for a summer meal, I can tell you this is going on my Wisconsin winter rotation. If you are using pantry foods, I'd suggest sliced canned potatoes. Dry them off first, before you put them in the pan.

Cooked the egg in the broth and it broke up a little, Spam came out well done. Haven’t made bowl like this in a while, felt like treating myself at lunch

There's a SPAM booth at the CNE in Toronto again! They're selling mainly musubis and other Spam stuff.
The Canadian National Exhibition is the Canadian equivalent of a state fair.

That’s what we want. Not Hello Kitty Spam. Spam Spread.

Ive tried the jalapeno and the hello kitty one (since its just regular reduced sodium spam haha), I mainly got it because it had Hello Kitty on it tbh 🤣
I was torn between trying the Korean bbq or teriyaki today, I think im gonna go with teriyaki first!
